Honestly respectable choice, not everyone likes PoT and that's fine same goes for the Isle, I believe both games have similarities but are trying to attract a different audience. PoT more casual players and the Isle more hardcore players. Both can be enjoyable to different people.

The growth depends on the server you’re in if you’re in a community server that lets you grow very fast or in a semi or realism server that makes you grow a dinosaur within a few hours, or 8 servers that take long to grow are usually servers that don’t enable growth also depending on which server you’re in either they take away all of your growth which by the way I find absolutely horrendous, but if it’s a server that takes away only a few bit of your growth or little to know growth then the server is good honestly I like how this game breaks the typical dinosaur growth system where if you just die as an adult, you just go back to baby for a small creature I can do, but it takes a creature that takes hours I mean hours to grow, I would rather jump off a cliff literally the game that allows this

The state of dinosaur survival games overall is just pretty depressing atm. My main issue is they all lack survival elements and weight too far into combat. It needs to be much more evened out and they need to be more creative when it comes to survival mechanics and pve interactions. This would pretty much eliminate the "there's nothing to do" complaint that we all can pretty much agree on.

IMO, the real underlying reason is that these dev teams like the funding, budget, manpower, experience and talent to implement complex AI or expand their server caps past 150 player slots. Many of us probably jumped into the dino survival genre with the intent of immersive realism of living the life of a dinosaur - but this is completely impossible to achieve when so many official and community servers consists of toxi children and players who are willing to mixpack, megapack, afk, hack or admin-abuse their way to the top. And this aspect of these games is NEVER going to change - it's like this with any competitive multiplayer PVP game out there. IMO the devs of these games need to take a page from Wolf Quest and implement a single-player mode with functioning ecosystems supported by PVE AI animals that cannot only function as prey items or threats, but as recruitable companions as well. (Saurian was going to be something like this but well, but then that game turned out to be a scam eternally trapped in early access hell.) So basically 2 modes - single player (with maybe optional multiplayer invites) for that TRUE dinosaur experience - or PVP with significantly increased server capacity and actual punishment for toxic players that break the rules. That way people can actually achieve that childhood wish fulfillment of living the life as a dinosaur, while they can switch it off for a free-for-all sandbox PVP mode for some more wacky & toxic fun.

The thing players lack to comprehend is the main premise of these games: To act out the survival (an MMORPG.) A recurring issue commonly associated with Dino-Survivals is this--how long can we keep up the illusion and what's the next step? Impossible is it to rule out combat from a role-playing dinosaur game when it is one part of the ingredient to promote the pitch. In retrospect, it's one thing The Lost World Jurassic Park understood well. So why is it hard for you?

I'm saying the issue with these survival games is there ARE NO SURVIVAL ELEMENTS. The devs have little to no creative input in the pve side of the game rather than just adding a diet bar. (Diets tie into pvp anyways rather than the few so on preferred diets)

I have to strongly agree here. I originally bought Path Of Titans to wait for The Isle to update, and had a good time with it. But overtime, the mods kept stacking up, everyone just was in one spot on the map and I was too nervous to try and attack, knowing I would get jumped by everyone, etc... The game is just... weird.

The Semi-Realism server I play on turned Crater’s pond into lava for this very reason. Now it’s dead. There are still people in White Cliffs and Grand Plains, but not NEARLY as many as officials. Maybe around 10 people total between the two, sometimes both are dead. It’s nice to find people everywhere.

I agree. I don't have a lot of experience in this game yet, but I already realized what's the problem of this game. So, I bought Path of Titans a few weeks ago, and my first week did really well. I enjoyed it, because I haven't played something like that before. I liked the way dinosaurs looks like, their diversity and possibilities. I got killed by these huge packs several times, but I chalked it up to the fact that I completely suck in pvp. But then things get worse. I started slowly realizing that the game is very boring. I understood that I was walking around the map until another pack of utahraptors find and absolutely annihilate my ass. I visited Impact Crater, Big Quill Lake, and Green Valley. And people were doing exactly what you described in your video there. Just sitting and chatting in piece! I saw a bloody fully grown giganotosaurus using some clown skin sitting and flirting with iguanodon or whatever it even was. I played as tyrannosaurus. I was hiding behind a tree, preparing for attack. Another giga just saw me about to attack a lambeosaurus who was sitting right next to a sauropod. He looked at me and shook his head. I was about to do that, but I realized that the nicknames of those creatures were coloured, which basically means that they are admins. I asked if I can actually hunt them without being banned, their response was something like "of course you can hunt us :3

It has mobile, so no wonder the people can be irritating. I usually run around as pachy, then hit every chatbot to knock them out of their menu’s. Then lead the bold ones to the nearest cliff. Got around 14 Rexes and Eos with that. Most of the Chatbots are the younger folk. They show off their apexes like a Lamborghini and just sit there and think how cool they look.

Pvp servers are as bad tbh. You have massive friend groups in GP and IC that hunt you down if you manage to kill one of their friend that happened to be alone. You can't hunt because people get mad about you killing adorable and sweet herbi. And then they say gg ez when they get you and it was 10-20 V 1 good for them I guess.

Things pot needs: A better growth system that makes official servers bearable to grow on. A stress/disseas system that forces people to social distance and spread around the map and while they're at it use it to prevent the copious amounts of mega packs we know aren't intended for the base game. We know they can do it, they litterally added an effect that spreads to other players in the vicinity with ramph. A better map, gondwa is nice on land but damn, the ocean to land interaction is basically non existant, they need to take a page from beast of bermuda on that one considering that game at least allows its aquatic players to enter some freshwater areas without crawling on land and with all of 4 ocean dedicated playables planned the ocean creatures will need to interact with the semi aquatic and land playabled for any decent chance at player interaction. Edit: and how could I forget a sound tlc for the whole game.

Me personally I like all of the mods, I want insane variety and I want the fantasy creatures aswell even if this is mainly a dinosaur game. I think that hotspots just need to be cleaned out all together. I want to find people migrating to new areas for water and food allowing people to actually be found and fightable. I love this game and it’s pvp (mostly) I just wish that base game wasn’t 8 hours to grow one creature, and that there was more than pvp with proper rewarding systems. I want nesting to be more than “you can grow with a garunteed family now” I want stats and moves to change with hatchlings and this would solve so many of my issues. Like base game lack of combat variety, the hotspots of crater, gp, and gv, and most of all carebears would have something that pour all of their care into. Not to mention I think the idea of “population stress” as I’ve called it would make so many issues vanish. That being that different Dino’s have different population levels they can tolerate before spending to Long in high intensity environments gives them debuffs. Anyway that’s just what I think.

Me briefly critiquing POT Goldfish: hold my red bull My biggest issue with POT is that, past all the broken hit boxes that the lambeo TLC brought with it, past the boring as all hell gameplay loop, past the mixpackers, past the hackers, past the bots and past the third parties, there’s just nothing to do in this game other than PVP. POT may be a more complete game, but under that it has the exact same issues the isle has (I’m not about to sit here and go “oh other than the bad game devs”, just because the POT game devs are better doesn’t mean they’re good. They tend to not fix major problems, constantly do balance waves instead of just singular balance changes, don’t moderate their mods [don’t get me started on DB giga] and they actively enforce bullshit rules on the discord that makes actual criticism impossible especially on mods. The devs also prioritize new playables instead of making their game better, which really hurts the game in the long run. Saying the POT devs are better than the isle devs is like clearing a high jump without the pole, it’s just not impressive)

Path of Titans is one of those games where you really need to find the right community server to actually enjoy the game. I tend to play on this semi-realism server called Arazoa which, whilst it has a lot of rules, actually allows for a more fun gameplay experience with less third partying, no care-bearing, etc.

Now, I know that the official servers can be an absolute mess and take forever. HOWEVER, I still actually enjoy them. To me it’s cool to beet the odds and survive anyway, without having to deal with so many rules. The questing is LONG, but can be sped up with optional routs or reserving questing time to when I have the well rested buff. This game isn’t perfect, but somehow it still keeps me coming back.

I agree with much of what was said about pot. I’m taking a break from playing thankfully summer is here and being outside will be more fun. Personally though my biggest issues with pot is how empty the map feels and the lack of immersive things to do. I’ve gotten bored with trying to walk around and find people. I do it in such a way where I’m just naturally moving through the biomes while questing and I almost never find people. I do find babies and I’ll help them if they don’t run away. But only in five for sure places I have found people to be frequently, GP, GV, IC, YG and HT. It’s always a bigger mixpack and I’m solo 90% of the time, and as soon as they see me I have to leave as it’s a pointless slaughter. The oceans are empty and only in two rivers YG/GP you could find people. Again usually larger mix packs just sitting around talking waiting to annihilate any random person not in the pack. It’s just boring. I do try to find people to group with who needs help or same species and it’s hit or miss, people are so distrustful that they think you are looking for a party to kill them, and people even tell others in chat not to group as it’s a trap. The community is very strange. I’m also so tired of seeing L xyz Dino 632,000x a day in the chat. It’s bizarre. The person knows they lost, I’m not sure why people need to tell them they did. Maybe that’s just me but it just seems pointless. I look forward to the game continuing to grow, and I hope the community grows with it, for the better.

You hit the nail on the head. I loved this game so much when I found it. But over time, just dealing with the toxic as hell community, slowly killed any love I had for the game. Spent over 1,000 hours and grew over 20 dinos... And then deleted it all so I wouldn't come back to it. Such a shame.

Majority of servers are like this IMO. However, there's a server for everyone. I found one with decent rules, no mix packing, global chat off, growth incentives for playing correctly, and modded balance patches. Just find a server that: Fits what you're looking for, your rulesets, and your speed. IMO, that's a lot easier to do in POT community servers, than it is in Evrima by a LONG shot.

2:12 problem is of all the like, 10 pvp servers I’ve played only ONE actually has spots where there are guarenteed 1v1s according to the rules and mixpacks can be seperated. Anywhere else, on modded maps at least, mixpacks are unstoppable unless they randomly start killing eachother or get mobbed by ANOTHER mixpack.

ive basically had this game since launch, playing on my phone before growth was a thing. There are 2 things that could be the issue, that werent mentioned, like how gondwa has more main spots then panjura has, since panjura is spread out a lot more people are more spread out.

Thats why I play Crimson servers. Any semi-realism server makes stuff so much better. Semis dont have as much rules as heavy realisms do. So that's my solution to having fun. People cannot third party, no kosing (because you must bodysit), faster growth, camping forbidden. And crimson actually has players hunting and stuff! Plus mods are really nice and sweet. I've never seen them let anyone slide with rulebreak

Big reason I only ever play community servers, mainly on Veloccis so there's still rules but I can also "mixpack" with my friends when we want to be different carnivore species.

I've played a lot of PoT, and when it came out it looked like great potential, as it seemed to be that compromise between the accuracy of Saurian and gameplay of the isle. As of now it's even less accurate than the Isle, the new Dino has a electric stun ability, just like somethign from Ark. The base game however is still quite good, just the official servers suck because growth sucks, it takes 10 hours of acorn collection to grow something, even a deinonychus (and it doesn't really take longer to grow a T. rex for example). The good thing is that server admins can completeyl customise their servers, to the point where you could make a server with accurate passive grow times like in The Isle and even balance the dinosaurs themselves to your liking, the issue is mods. There are a lot great dino mods, but almost every private server has these weird fantasy creates, dragons aliens and whatnot bs mods installed, completely breakign the immersion of a dinosaur game. So while the game itself is good, it rn sucks to play on both official and unofficial servers. really hope in the future someone will essentially recerate something like Saurian, with a custom map and, for example, only dinosaurs from the late jurassic enabled, both vanilla and mods, because this is technically possible. Sadly you can't really get your hands on the dev kit that easy rn, otherwise I would give it a try.

I also hate being killed for no reason then someone goes “L get gud noob quit playing” despite the players obvious huge advantage or players sitting in the same area. It gets rid of most problems the game has player base wise, and makes it a bit more realistic

I play solo allo. The last year and a half it's very tough. Do you have to worry about Carebears and huge squads of Kos packs herbivore and carnivore alike. Getting chased for 45 minutes on a dinosaur that has terrible stamina. The game is fun there are some days I'm so frustrated that I tell myself I'm not going to play for a couple months and then catch myself yearning for the ability to play as a dinosaur again. You guys can have your opinion. I literally have no friends that play this game and I always play by and because of that I felt my fair share of toxic lot of players. I enjoy the game for what it is. (I never stop playing more than 3 days)

Pot's growth is completely fine they just need to make questing fun and today me and a random player I found chilled in ic as spinos with a bunch of other people in ic for 2 and a half hours basically 3 hours and those people ended up killing us because we attacked a sarco (which we ended up sparing it's life) so we decided to go gp instead of killing the sarco than as soon as we got further away from water the whole of ic which were chill for 3 hours ganged and killed us and there reasoning being us attacking the sarco

Which is why I love to play community servers , realism servers or semi ones are the best or sometimes pvp servers too with instant one or almost instant (realism when I want my own focuse and own species to socialize without anyone getting betwen beside them actually being hungry for it and pvp for when I am feisty xD)

IMO, Beasts of Bermuda is still the most "complete" dino sim on the market, despite its abhorrent flaws. Has the most complex nesting, breeding & growth system by a landslide, an impressive weather system with its own natural disasters, unique abilities and niches for each species, sparring and group dynamic mechanics, a perk talent tree for growth progression, elder growth stages, a fully-fleshed out aquatic/marine biome, personal achievement milestones, solid atmospheric soundtrack, extensive biome variety, a public server leaderboard, dynamic regional events (though these could be better,) fully interactive foliage, secret unlockable playables & emotes and competent burrowing/climbing/flying/swimming/grappling/knockdown mechanics. It's such a shame the suffers from terrible optimization, graphics, animations and sound design. But most of all - some bafflingly stupid gameplay decisions throughout its development (RNG/nesting inherits, infinite growth, terrible AI, and a stupidly-accurate scent system come to mind,) which resulted in an insanely toxic, gatekeeping community that essentially killed the game from the inside-out. Oh well, maybe someone else will step to the challenge and finally get it right.

The growth system is the main reason itself difficult for me to get into path of titans, I’m new-ish to the game and starting to play it more now to get into the groove but when I do play most of my time is on community serves who have passive growth of some kind. The fact that the ONLY way you can grow even a little bit in the base game/official servers is by doing quest after quest after quest (which usually involves collecting stuff most of the time) is unbearable. When I see another player like an allo or something my first thought is never : “is he going to eat me?” It’s “oh he’s probably trying to deliver mushrooms just like I am” which kinda makes it feel like survival isn’t as important as it should be.

I don't think mix packing is bad (unless herbi/carni) sometimes you play as your species and then you realize your probably the only one playing as it. So for you to join other players that are a different species gives you a sense that you're not alone and gives you more protection. Besides animals irl have help another species out many times.

I mostly play path of titans on official. I know it can be terrible but I dislike the modded Dino’s as many don’t feel balanced well. I really enjoy the game overall even though officials takes forever to grow a Dino on but I don’t mind that too much. I’d say my biggest complaint with the game is how once grown there isn’t a reason to travel the map and that’s one reason so many people huddle up at crater. I don’t wanna tell people how to play but it isn’t fun trying to find immersion in a Dino game and everyone is playing the land before time by a pond. I’m not sure the best way to fix this but if they could encourage people to travel the map more hunting would feel so much better than thinking “ I’m hungry again, guess I’ll check crater for corpses”. Now playing in a group changes allot of things but I love the feeling of hunting solo and it can be pretty rough trying to do that sometimes

I think it all comes down to:PoT is more of an MMO dino game than survival,still is in fact in open beta and by the looks of it you just play officials or heavy pvp servers. If you want a more easy or realistic experience try servers like Arazoa,PTR or WWD who have rules,admins and stuff to keep all balanced,they even have different stats to make animals feel better. Its fine if you dont enjoy it,it aint for everyone and path is still being built but regardless the idea is for everyone to have fun each on its own games❤🤙🏼

All you said isn't the worst parts of the game, and there's some community servers where carebears exists, but are less present, and people spread more in the great plains zone. In pvp servs, if everyone groups up, you have observe how the others act and try to detect THE dino that nobody cares for in order for you to attack. You can also try to build your fame up by talking to people in the serv, making them know your dino mains as well as your skins, so they recognize you and, well, don't immediately gang up on you if everyone carebears and you wanna attack one of them. Sometimes it works, sometimes it dosen't, but if you're known enough by the others and stop to attack, crouch and make them understand you stop the attack, they will stop to gang up on you. For a fair 1v1, you can politely ask in global chat to one player, and if they agree, other people will less interrupt you. And if another guy comes in the battle still, the 1v1 ends and the annoying one gets ganged up usually. There's also realism servers that are less fun, but allow hunts to start and finish nicely without any interruption. Trust my advice, I am a fellow PoT player. By the way, the worst aspect in the game is the descriptions of the dino attacks that fail most of the time to truly describe the damage made by it. You need most of the time to test the damage on another player, and to really be aware of the dinosaurs strength and viability, you can't just play the game and see for yourself, you need to do a FRICKING online search on websites or even discord servers in order to find their combat weight, other stats and the true power value of the attacks. PoT wants to feel more like a game than a survival dino simulator experience compared to the isle, but fails miserably by not giving enough transparency on the playable dinosaur themselves and the balance of the game.

Path of Titans is my go-to between it an the Isle (it just runs better and has more to do), and even I very much agree with you on both Official and those particular community servers. Which is why I don't play on either. I play on "realism" servers, I like the sets of rules, the curated mods, and the lack of carebears or KOSers. Its not for everyone, but that's kind of the point, its for those of us who like that style of play. I remember that video of yours from a couple months ago where you set out to conceptualize your perfect dinosaur game, and I'll be honest I wouldn't ever play it if it was a real thing. It just isn't the kind of game I'd ever be interested in playing. But that's why I think Path of Titans is as popular as it is, it is extremely easy to make into whatever any given community wants to make out of it. And I imagine it will only get easier with the introduction of new game types. What's important is that whatever anybody does with PoT or any other game for that matter, is that they have fun, however they choose to do so.

I think my most hated thing about carebear players is that they just don't use their brain. Ive been attacked by a player and in a fight, the carebears do nothing and just watch, i come back and start fighting that player again, now they have to defend that players honor. Also if the player is server mod/donater you will always be mobbed by all of ic and that player will be able to do whatever they want.

Most mod creators for PoT are awesome, love the PT crew especially. The worst mods usually come from fantasy dinos like Novi, Golg, Mora. Kapro and acro isn't a fantasy dino mod, but hell they are also broken and stupid. The community servers usually get super toxic when you have players spamming these broken dinos constantly. Like finding 8-10golgs in ic-gp is common every single time I get online on any community server that has it. Lots of mods need balancing

Ive been playing path of titans since 2021 and oh boy has the game changed a lot since then. I still remember when there were no mods, no growth and when the combat was than the isle’s. It was a fairly niche community everyone was moat likely a paleo fan. But then the game became popular and everything changed. It became a glorified forum with overpowered mods everywhere. The combat became worse because the devs are afflicted with chronic nerfing disorder. I just cant until ai comes cuz when it arrives the game is gonna hopefully be a lot better cuz the map is no longer gonna be populated by chatbots who SIT AROUND DOING NOTHING

Very solid opinion. PoT as a game is pretty solid, of course it still lacks in stuff like dinosaur variety ability wise and the whole questing system, but we very much know that those are being actively worked on and improved. It's main downfall is the weird community of carebears and generally boring people (seriously why the hell would you pay 30 bucks for a game only to AFK in for hours at a time???). Something really oughta be done about crater; that place is horrid for this stuff. Hopefully AI dinosaur may be enough to alleviate this issue somewhat. If they're well made you may even be able to play PoT as a singleplayer game.

Officials are hell and I dont know what's going on in the pvp oriented community servers, besides being a questionable mod moshpit...but thats why I play semi realism lol. I do not like excessive rules, but they are usually less overwhelming than full realism and create a healthier balance between pvp, survival and socialising. No carebearing, mixpacking and megapacking are always staple rules and these servers tend to lean towards only allowing the higher quality/more realistic mods over just adding every new addition. The hard part is finding a server that fits closest with your expectations and wants.

Path of Titans becomes the best game ever if you play it on Arazoa servers. Trust me on this! You will feel like your 75mill years back once you come across a mega herd of 30 people. Plus all of the other areas are populated because of nomad/territory system, Arazoa basically saved the game for me!

I agree with most u are saying, but path of titans attract these type of players, by encouraging them to play this way. There is nothing to gain or loose when u are adult, it isnt a survival game. It became more flat over time, combat wise. It has the most broken group system and questing is not fun at all. The only time i feel im playing a survival game, is when i drink water and a croc might be there. You can teleport ur friends to you. You can grow back with a single trophy or 5 quest. Going sneaky over the map is not a thing, there is no reason to hide except u are a baby. Also ambushing does not make sense on a lot of dinos, you simply dont get much out of it and it is not worth the struggle so u mainly just yolo in. The entire gameloop does not add up. Im very critiq here, even tho i played it also quite a lot. It is from a technical stand point better developed, but despite that, development also moves into a direction i dont support. More dinos, more abilities will not make the game better for me. I want a deep gameplay, intense survivial experience and balanced pvp. Even if we call PoT balanced, it will never have deep gameplay or support an intense survival experience.

I love playing this game with my friend, both on officials and community servers. Questing on officials never bothers me since we usually chill and talk while grinding, it’s almost therapeutic. There’s also the occasional excitement of bumping into other players and tearing them to shreds, lol. Probably the only thing that bothers me at the moment is people crying Baby Killer or KOS in chat after you kill them, as if the tutorial cave doesn’t literally tell you that you will be actively hunted by other players

I'm a PS5 Pot user, and I love the pvp aspect of the game. Carebears are enemy number 1, they are so annoying because they get mad at you for fighting even though its a PVP SERVER! Like whaddo you want me to do, sit there afk and yap for 9 hours like you guys??? Now I have attempted to play realism before, and nobody explains any of the downright strange rules. Like I cannot just eat a corpse, if I find it. I have to locate the person who killed the animal, and fight for the corpse. I'm probably gonna stay to pvp at least carebears can be dealt with

I love path of titans and I agree with what you said, me and my friends play it we contently have to deal with this we legit start calling it VRchat rooms at this point and it has made some of us drift away from the game and its sad and I love the modding seen of the game but some mods are uhmmmm yea special to say the least. I have played all three of the dino games and the isle will always hold a special place in my hard cuz I played it since it came out I have been there throught it all and even tho evrima hasnt been the greatest I still love it and path of titans is just a fun and interesting game and like I said I love the modding for the game its just sad that it gets ruined by a specific playerbase.
