This is my second MS. I sold my 2014 and made a big mistake. I too love this machine. I walk into the garage and it catches my eye. AAAHHHH. I like your comment about comfort. I'm 5-10 with a 30 inch inseam. I bought the lowered seat and I can flat foot both feet. My last MS took me from SF to NOLA and back in complete comfort except for West Texas freezing. The heated seat could have been a godsend then. You should talk about engine braking, hill control. blind spot detection and the new transmission smoothness. My old MS hit tons of false neutrals. This one never misses. Love the quick shifter. I'm waiting for the new software to see how it further improves. I'm 74 and been riding for over 50 years. There's a reason I spent all this money for a second MS.

100% with you Rembo. Mine is 8 months, 7.000km and I literally love her (yes, for me is a she, italian roots, motorbike is feminine) more each time I use it. I live in Zürich, but cold doesn't stop me from using her. Less distance, but still she's gifting me so much joy. First Ducati for me, before always Japanise sport bikes. Ducati did an AMAZING job! I kept my CBR 929, with the idea of alternating the usage. Truth? I am always on the Multistrada. Nice video, I can fully subscribe and cheers to lovely Florida!

Totally agree with the comments about going off road. I grew up riding and racing dirt bikes, and if I want to go off road, I'll buy another dirt bike. My local Ducati dealer finally got some Multistrada's for the showroom, I sat on one and chatted with the salesman. Stopped short of going for a test ride, as it'll be 6-12 months before I'm ready to buy (trying to buy a house, and as crazy as the real estate market has gone, I have to be careful with my money). What a gorgeous bike.

I gotta agree with you, it’s a superb bike. The longer I have it, the more I like it. I had previously planned to have two or three bikes in the garage (I may still get an enduro for the mountain fire tracks, for the exact reasons you say), but the longer I have this, the more I question if I’ll ever buy another bike. The power, the features, the safety…… it has it all. I didn’t think I’d need the adaptive cruise control and blind spot radar, and whilst I never use the cruise, I now think I’d never want to be without the blind spot safety radar…… it’s brilliant, especially as here in the French Riviera you get so many idiots with zero patience, on high power scooters passing from all sides, with no thought to their own safety, let alone anyone else’s. I hope they put this tech on all bikes now. I would add that I get a little more wind noise than I’d hoped, but I am 6ft 4”, so there aren’t many other bikes that would create a large enough quiet bubble either…… and I won’t change to a bigger screen because I want the breeze in the hot weather. I’ll be interested to see what you think of it, if you take it on some canyons and twisties up north. We have some local race tracks here at Paul Ricard and Le Luc, so I’m hoping to try it on those. Maybe they’ll have made some sticky rubber available for it by then 😃👍 Thank you for another great, thought provoking post 👍

Also bought the taller seat (i'm long legged), which is 1.5 cm higher than the original. When i tried the demo, i remember having a little buffeting, but less than on most other bikes. Looking forward to ride the bike when the snow disappears, hoping that the taller screen / seat combo does the trick.

Hello Rembo, with your Multistrada you are technically in an area where you have to think about changing the chain. If you haven't already done so. Have you ever heard of a REGINA HPE chain? The chain requires little maintenance and does not need to be lubricated. I've had the chain on it for 4000km and it works. I've heard from others who have done more than 10,000km with this chain and they report little or no wear. Adjusting the chain is also minimal.

Rembo, I watched your previous video about why you might sell your Multistrada, have you changed your mind? I'm trying to make a decision and I'm kind of leaning toward the BMW R1250 RT. You really made me think that the Multistrada may not be for me because I'm not really a trail guy. What I do like about the Multistrada is the radar which I though was on the front and rear but I'm hearing that is not true? Tough decision, maybe I should buy them both...
@RemboUSMC2 жыл бұрын
A motorcycle is a personal decision. My video about selling was "why I want to sell and why I don't.." Basically at the time we were in the middle of the radar debacle in the US. The rear radar is for blind spot and the front radar is for dynamic cruise control. If you are more of a street rider than a trail rider then the MSV4S is the bike for you. If you are more of an off-road person, then the BMW may be a better choice. It really is a tossup but the Ducati is way, way, way more fun and capable on paved roads.

@@RemboUSMC Thank you Rembo, I appreciate your taking the time to reply, I'm definitely more of a street rider so the Multistrada seems like a good fit, I hope the whole radar debacle isn't an issue because I definitely want it. 😊

Peter, I am in your situation but a step forward, owning a 2021 RT with radar as well. But I test drove this Ducati, also 1290 and the recently appeared Honda NT1100 with DCT gearbox, both refused due to several reasons. The Duc is an overhelming bike, awesome and extremely precise in corners. Not mention about power, it has enough. Ever in Urban modus with around 115hp ir is already quick. To me it is just the cornering ability whilst having a confort and safe ride, that combination is not easy to find elsewhere, at this level. The RT is the better bike overall (of the whole market); you wont find another bike which allows you long hauls with perfect wind protection, no heating issues in summer, good cornering and braking stability, high mileage, tons of luggage, radio, no chain, etc... Though the V4 has for me three key points which do not let me sleep. Far better quickshifter, less vibrations (a few, nothing really worth to speak about) and a better cornering fun. Not sure what I will do. the RT, as said, is a fantastic bike with an suprising will for twisty roads, when proper tyres on it.
@RemboUSMC2 жыл бұрын
@@nibelungoalex5845 Great information. Two things stopped me from purchasing the R 1250 RT, the first one was the size which is not as big of a deal, the second thing is that it’s so damn hot in Florida, the wind protection would actually be detrimental in the summer.

The major issue is the maitenance of the chain, i use motul to clean and lubrificate, os the best? Another issue, os when you shift até 3 out 4 gear and you roling at 4000-5000rpm beetwen 50 up to +- 70 KMS, a constante velocity per hour, the moto make lot of noise, unusual until 5000km. The last issue is the quick shift up is ok up to 4500 is smooth, the down i need to at low 2000rpm to be smooth, otherwise it "hurts' listening, this is normal? Thank you for your videos about the Multristrada, um a few days my moto go to a Ducati shop for the anual maitenance, and os good to have more information. Greetings from Portugal
