This is my second MS. I sold my 2014 and made a big mistake. I too love this machine. I walk into the garage and it catches my eye. AAAHHHH. I like your comment about comfort. I'm 5-10 with a 30 inch inseam. I bought the lowered seat and I can flat foot both feet. My last MS took me from SF to NOLA and back in complete comfort except for West Texas freezing. The heated seat could have been a godsend then. You should talk about engine braking, hill control. blind spot detection and the new transmission smoothness. My old MS hit tons of false neutrals. This one never misses. Love the quick shifter. I'm waiting for the new software to see how it further improves. I'm 74 and been riding for over 50 years. There's a reason I spent all this money for a second MS.

100% with you Rembo. Mine is 8 months, 7.000km and I literally love her (yes, for me is a she, italian roots, motorbike is feminine) more each time I use it. I live in Zürich, but cold doesn't stop me from using her. Less distance, but still she's gifting me so much joy. First Ducati for me, before always Japanise sport bikes. Ducati did an AMAZING job! I kept my CBR 929, with the idea of alternating the usage. Truth? I am always on the Multistrada. Nice video, I can fully subscribe and cheers to lovely Florida!

Totally agree with the comments about going off road. I grew up riding and racing dirt bikes, and if I want to go off road, I'll buy another dirt bike. My local Ducati dealer finally got some Multistrada's for the showroom, I sat on one and chatted with the salesman. Stopped short of going for a test ride, as it'll be 6-12 months before I'm ready to buy (trying to buy a house, and as crazy as the real estate market has gone, I have to be careful with my money). What a gorgeous bike.

Thanks for your testimony about your V4S. I am only 1100 miles in on my 2022 version, but but my experience has been identical to yours. Luckily, I have not experienced the 2 negative issues you mentioned. And the gas mileage is ample for me As I am 66 years old and 2 hour runs at a time on Florida highways are quite good enough for me, thank you. Thanks again for your continuing videos, particularly those about the V4S. They are both helpful and entertaining. Best wishes. Scott

Good update and good to see you still love it, as I do mine. The only annoyance I'd add is that Sygic doesn't allow GPX file imports for navigation, which is crucial to many riders who want to create bespoke tailored touring routes. Enjoy the TX MotoGP. P.s. The MTS was Ducati's best-selling bike last year and their sales were up 25% - go red planet!

I gotta agree with you, it’s a superb bike. The longer I have it, the more I like it. I had previously planned to have two or three bikes in the garage (I may still get an enduro for the mountain fire tracks, for the exact reasons you say), but the longer I have this, the more I question if I’ll ever buy another bike. The power, the features, the safety…… it has it all. I didn’t think I’d need the adaptive cruise control and blind spot radar, and whilst I never use the cruise, I now think I’d never want to be without the blind spot safety radar…… it’s brilliant, especially as here in the French Riviera you get so many idiots with zero patience, on high power scooters passing from all sides, with no thought to their own safety, let alone anyone else’s. I hope they put this tech on all bikes now. I would add that I get a little more wind noise than I’d hoped, but I am 6ft 4”, so there aren’t many other bikes that would create a large enough quiet bubble either…… and I won’t change to a bigger screen because I want the breeze in the hot weather. I’ll be interested to see what you think of it, if you take it on some canyons and twisties up north. We have some local race tracks here at Paul Ricard and Le Luc, so I’m hoping to try it on those. Maybe they’ll have made some sticky rubber available for it by then 😃👍 Thank you for another great, thought provoking post 👍

2022 Multistrada V4S here as well, waiting for winter to go away. I'm also 6ft.4" and i bought the original touring screen, which is 4 cm taller. Also bought the taller seat (i'm long legged), which is 1.5 cm higher than the original. When i tried the demo, i remember having a little buffeting, but less than on most other bikes. Looking forward to ride the bike when the snow disappears, hoping that the taller screen / seat combo does the trick.

Hello Rembo, with your Multistrada you are technically in an area where you have to think about changing the chain. If you haven't already done so. Have you ever heard of a REGINA HPE chain? The chain requires little maintenance and does not need to be lubricated. I've had the chain on it for 4000km and it works. I've heard from others who have done more than 10,000km with this chain and they report little or no wear. Adjusting the chain is also minimal.

Rembo, I watched your previous video about why you might sell your Multistrada, have you changed your mind? I'm trying to make a decision and I'm kind of leaning toward the BMW R1250 RT. You really made me think that the Multistrada may not be for me because I'm not really a trail guy. What I do like about the Multistrada is the radar which I though was on the front and rear but I'm hearing that is not true? Tough decision, maybe I should buy them both...
@RemboUSMC
@RemboUSMC 2 жыл бұрын
A motorcycle is a personal decision. My video about selling was "why I want to sell and why I don't.." Basically at the time we were in the middle of the radar debacle in the US. The rear radar is for blind spot and the front radar is for dynamic cruise control. If you are more of a street rider than a trail rider then the MSV4S is the bike for you. If you are more of an off-road person, then the BMW may be a better choice. It really is a tossup but the Ducati is way, way, way more fun and capable on paved roads.

Peter, I am in your situation but a step forward, owning a 2021 RT with radar as well. But I test drove this Ducati, also 1290 and the recently appeared Honda NT1100 with DCT gearbox, both refused due to several reasons. The Duc is an overhelming bike, awesome and extremely precise in corners. Not mention about power, it has enough. Ever in Urban modus with around 115hp ir is already quick. To me it is just the cornering ability whilst having a confort and safe ride, that combination is not easy to find elsewhere, at this level. The RT is the better bike overall (of the whole market); you wont find another bike which allows you long hauls with perfect wind protection, no heating issues in summer, good cornering and braking stability, high mileage, tons of luggage, radio, no chain, etc... Though the V4 has for me three key points which do not let me sleep. Far better quickshifter, less vibrations (a few, nothing really worth to speak about) and a better cornering fun. Not sure what I will do. the RT, as said, is a fantastic bike with an suprising will for twisty roads, when proper tyres on it.
@RemboUSMC
@RemboUSMC 2 жыл бұрын
@@nibelungoalex5845 Great information. Two things stopped me from purchasing the R 1250 RT, the first one was the size which is not as big of a deal, the second thing is that it’s so damn hot in Florida, the wind protection would actually be detrimental in the summer.

Hy Rembo! I have the Multristrada v4s modelo 2021 with 8000km. I agree with you, the moto is fun to ride, that's why i bought her, i never have that fun, with the two superteneré 1200. The major issue is the maitenance of the chain, i use motul to clean and lubrificate, os the best? Another issue, os when you shift até 3 out 4 gear and you roling at 4000-5000rpm beetwen 50 up to +- 70 KMS, a constante velocity per hour, the moto make lot of noise, unusual until 5000km. The last issue is the quick shift up is ok up to 4500 is smooth, the down i need to at low 2000rpm to be smooth, otherwise it "hurts' listening, this is normal? Thank you for your videos about the Multristrada, um a few days my moto go to a Ducati shop for the anual maitenance, and os good to have more information. Greetings from Portugal

@@RemboUSMC It is a real fun bike to ride..It is my knock around bike. It is great and easy to ride. The problem is that I have a hard time keeping it under 80mph, Even in a 25mph zone...LOL Thanks for asking

What is the best motorcycle you ever owned?

Out of my last 7 bikes, 5 of them were the GS / GSA 1200/1250, 1 Ktm 1290 SA and now the 2022 Multi V4S. So far the best bike has been the GS, but hoping for 2022 to change my mind. 😁 The Ktm 1290 SA (new in 2016) was a big disappointment to me. Also like to mention the one i miss the most, a 2007 Multistrada 1000 S.

I own one and I'm not impressed to be honest , I don't get the 170bhp as mine totaled out at 145mph tops . Lots of vibration, the panniers are too small ,the acro is quiet and I prefered my 2017 gsa for comfort , overall I'm not impressed at all.

I am wondering what the difference is between your bike and mine. I have done 156mph with more room to go and decided to lay off. The pans are smaller but I don't mind it because I always have a Krieger soft pack on the back anyway. I like that the pans are smaller because it keeps it more aerodynamic. Compared to other bikes, the vibration is a non-issue to me. Thank you for sharing your experience and perspective.

I have absolutely no idea, it was in Sport and Dynamic engine setting and to be honest I'm not impressed, I did have a v4 panigale 2020 model from new before this but my old 2015 dvt s felt just as quick .

Anybody here also ridden/owned a Superduke 1290 GT? I'd like your perspective. Thanks!

Great question. There are a lot of KTM fans out there. They make a great motorcycle.

Have had a superduke gt for 2 years, no problems at all its a great bike . I've sat on the V4s but not ridden it. The gt has a more aggressive riding position and the engine is brutal. I would say the super adventure s is more like the v4s. I'm getting older and am going for something easier on my wrists and the v4s along with the SDS are on the agenda. I've been on a gs and they are not for me but a very good bike. Im in my 60's and been riding since I was 15 these day's most bikes are pretty good its what's good for you. Any time on any bike is good for me 😊

It depends. I did a 10,000 mile review of my gas mileage, every single ounce I put in it. See here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaq5ZICagZZmd7s
