Literally I have NEVER had a theater experience like Endgame, and I would see a dozen crap films for the chance of getting that feeling again... The closest thing was when I saw Speed Racer as an exclusive sneak-peek before release day, at the Alamo Drafthouse, surrounded by die-hard fans of the cartoon.

Y'know tbh, maybe more theaters should do what Alamo Drafthouse does... When I saw Color Out Of Space there RIGHT before the pandemic began, there were several messages on screen that said like. "This is a premium experience. If you talk, open your phone, or misbehave in any way: We are watching, and we will remove you from the theater." Seems harsh, but if that's what it takes to make the theater seem like a luxury experience worth a night out... Maybe it's in order.

There's a lot to be said for moderating your community, and venue owners of all types have that responsibility... The nazi bar principle.

For me, it's that I have no idea what is out. Like, you can judge me but, I had no idea that 1. Fallout was a movie and 2. that it was going to be released in theaters until you said it here lol I thought it was going to be a Netflix series or something. On top of that, I only saw that a trailer had been released. I figured that meant it would come out next year...not a month later. And I had never even heard of Furiosa. I feel like I used to be on top of these movies, but I'm also not on social media as much anymore, and I don't watch TV, so really the only way to advertise to someone like me is at the movies or by word of mouth. Usually by the time I do hear about a movie, it just left theaters or moved to digital. So...not much you can do about that ^v^);; I also can't afford to go to the movies as often as I used to due to the higher prices and the rising cost of living. People like to dog on Millennials for destroying "x" experience, but really, we're just poor lol Do I spend $20 on a movie? Or do I spend it on food and wait for the digital release? Seems like an easy choice. I love movies and I love the theater experience as well, but the current market just doesn't work for me unless a friend or I happen to find something we really really want to see.

I'm just not getting movie ads at all so unless I look i really don't know what's in theaters. And when I do look it's usually for something I've been interested, not something new; but may I remind you IM NOT GETTING ADS. And when I do it's only for 'that' movie and nothing else. And with the quick turn around from theaters to streaming, why should I bother going unless it's an event?

Pretty much the same experience here. The internet age makes it really easy to avoid getting ads, so word of mouth is pretty much the only way I found out about new releases anymore, and there just hasn't been a lot of buzz about new movies in a while that's actually made it to me.

I don't know what made me stop going to the movies, I just stopped enjoying it. I used to get in line and watch things day one, but I think I am about 3 years behind the MCU and I have not watched an animated movie in the theater in a long time. I also lost the interest to watch a lot of things for example I really liked the first john wick movie but I watched 2, 3 and 4 a few weeks ago when I couldn't go outside because I was sick. I also realized I longer get the same enjoyment out of movies, This year I went to see Ghostbusters because one of my favorite comedians(James Acaster) was going to be in it and thats all the movies I have seen this year(I do have my tickets fir Deadpool 3 tough)

Ettiquette in the cinema has definitely gone downhill. I went to watch Spideman: Across the Spiderverse. Was SUPER EXCITED because I hadn't gone to the movies in years. The people to my front left NEVER came off their phone which in a dark cinema feels a little like getting flashbanged in one corner of your eye, and teenagers in the back started throwing popcorn and giggling loudly at conversations they were having amongst themselves. Add to that that movies seem to be 90% barrel scraping franchise knock-offs and now I just wait for films to come out on Netflix.

Jesus Christ. It really makes me wonder why people like that would pay to go out to watch a movie if that's how they're going to act.
