Absolutely! It’s so easy to get caught up in training/racing and forget it’s all supposed to be fun.

I feel ya. I’m my 20’s a previous partner left and I was so broke I didn’t take care of myself but carried on trying to work as much as I could and got into long distance cycling but on a mediocre diet in a caloric deficit. I burned out. And never learned my lesson (burn out wasn’t a thing then). Fast forward, I’m now 37 and burned myself out repeatedly over the last several years trying to work, exercise, study - whatever I could cram in. But for a decade my health has been horrific and only now am I mentally able to slow down and deal with it. I think slowing down when you’re used to going 100mile per hour takes as much mental strength as it does to keep going. You have that strength 💪 look after yourself y’all ❤ Love from the UK

Thank you for sharing your story! I think it’s a trap that’s easy to fall into when everyone around you seems to be doing more. I’m so very happy you’ve been able to find a way to slow down and give your body some rest. Wishing you the best with your health! Blessings!!

One thing that helped me is giving up the bib. Planing my own outdoor adventure even if doesn't involve running. Maybe I'll do something like hyrox or an ironman or just go paddle boarding and be cool with it. And let's be honest, I ain't ever gonna get into Western States or Hardrock baring a miracle. So I'm only doing a qualifier if I would still do that race even if it wasn't a qualifier. I started running to balance out my weightlifting and to chill out. So imma chill out lol. Wish you the best going forward ❤

I love the adventures without bibs! You’re on to something.

@@VIVSVIBE even with a bib, they're adventures. If you havent said during a race on a trail you're unfamiliar with, "holy sh^^!," at the view from the highest elevation then you're not doing trail running right. Its an adventure first. Sure, you're blazing through nature, but even those glances at the vast expanse are worth it, whether you bomb and barely finish or see everyone in your rearview mirror.

First, every day with a Vivsvibe video in my life is a good day. Thank you! The randomness of the KZbin universe intersected me with your channel about 4 years ago and I have remained a dedicated viewer and fan. As I have mentioned a few times in comments, that is a bit strange as I am not a runner in any way (road cyclist). I have stayed with your channel because of the person you are, your purpose, your message and your spirit. I guess the message we can all take away from your ordeal and this video is that superheroes only exist in comic books. Yes, I get the irony of that statement given my YT screen name...what can I say, I am a geek through and through! I wish that I had the artistic ability to draw a meme for you. As you were describing your past few years, the phrase 'burning the candle at both ends' came to mind...the meme that I envisioned for you was you blasting a candle with a flamethrower! I wish you all of the happiness, peace, and love that you most certainly deserve. Karma is real and with that in mind, I know that the universe must have some amazing things in store for you because of all of the positivity and love that you exude.

I love that KZbin sent you my way and you’ve been part of the journey. I always look forward to your kind and encouraging comments and this one is no different. I guess we have AI to create those kinds of memes now if you type your description 😂 I get the picture though and this it’s a funny one what ACCURATELY depicts what I’ve been doing the last few years. All of it has lead me to here though so now I get to slow down and try things a little different!

You are simply learning what every (some) older runner knows . The run is what’s important not the training. Chill kid and think about the vast audience searching for fun ,laid back vid’s .
