australias like hawaii has a higher level caliber of waves. When you don't need a wetsuit also makes for easier access and means to surf. Feel like more people surf there than in california but who knows.

Mate, I feel you. I had the same thing happen. I had just got my first surf comp under my belt in PNG, got 4th. When I did a bucket handle tare in my meniscus at age 15. As a result I was flown out of the country after some less then great doctors managed to get the bit of the meniscus caught on the wrong side of my knee cap. So now 2 years later and almost 1 year where 1 couldn't run later I've moved to Brisbane and started surfing again. Challenging as it is knowing that one day my knee will break again, it so worth it and I'm glad to see that you also recovered well and still love the sport!! keep shredding

That water is such a beautiful color... worst pro surfer but has the best personality and humor. Sure surfing is 1 of the things would like to see, just anything you want to share with us. Are you going to plant an actual garden? Basics on snorkeling and free diving, showing jist how well ya do maintenance on AL of the toys; like wash, wax, air pressure,oil change, cleaning the inside.. haha! I grew up snowboarding my whole life living in the mountains here in Vancouver, when I lived in Byron Bay, I was always so jealous of the surfers haha, tried to pick it up but sucked.
