Two of my boys have ADHD and the times you've mentioned having it always makes them feel better. My 6 year old asks me why his brain is crazy and makes him so excitied and it makes him feel bad sometimes. but him seeing you do all the things you do he says "brodie has a crazy brain like me and he can do all this cool stuff and I can too!" It makes such a difference for him. ❤

@JDS_im3 жыл бұрын
Having ADHD myself, I've kinda known that you've got it too from the very first vid I've seen from you, before you ever mentioned it. It shows in the way that you're never too focused on a mission, you don't stick to a plan, you just go out and let the world around you take you whereever you never knew you wanted to be. You don't want your day to day life to be predictable and structured, instead you pursue new knowledge through experience, and give meaning to your life by doing the best you can do as an individual to make the world a better place by sharing what you're able to share, to turn your happiness into someone else's happiness, and by being respectful of all living creatures and all mother nature has to offer. The most normal things can be the biggest challenges for someone with ADHD, like going to bed in time to get enough sleep before you have to wake up the next day, and it sucks. But instead of letting your diagnosis be an impairment/disability, you've embraced it and learned to take advantage of it to do good. You've earned your success by working harder than most, and by being a wonderful person not most but all of the time, a true role-model. Just remember that it's okay to give yourself a break once in a while to charge your batteries and take some time for yourself to process the things that eat away at you.

Hey man, I have ADHD as well and I hear you on this one! I don't medicate for it so I have to wear myself out during the day and if it's crap weather I sit in my workshop and make random little barns, huts, houses, farm sheds, motorcycles or anything I can bend, cut and weld together and with covid lockdown in Melbourne lately I've been in my workshop till 3 or 4 am on the tools and then get up at 6:30 for work till 4pm and then repeat haha and that's why you've inspired me to buy a house in Miami and move up north to get back to the ocean and my home state where I was born and also get back to surfing, fishing and diving and possible start filming some stuff so cheers to you mate! 🍻🤙

There’s no shame in it, Brodie. But I get it. I have ADD. Didn’t even believe in it until I was in my 40’s. I’m 56 now, and I own it. It’s part of what’s allowed me to do big things. Now that I understand it, more of my past makes sense. And I can go easier on myself as I reflect on my life. Your sharing is and will help others feel less alone. God bless you and your family and friends.

I got ADHD too. When I was 12 I was put on to "Neurofeedback" which luckily my dad's insurance covered, but it completely changed my life. I hated going when I was a kid, but am very thankful I did and that my parents had the foresight to enroll me in it. If you have trouble sleeping, you need to stop going on your computer/phone after 10pm. That alone made a world of difference. The blue light given off by screens naturally keeps you awake- its too intense and it messes with your circadian rhythm and sleep cycle. Also shut off your house lights after 9pm, get your body and mind in a state that feels like sleep. I guarentee you're up late most nights editing on your computer or scrolling Twitter/Insta. Put boundaries on that if you want to prioritize sleep more, or dont if you dont really care. Also, I got an LED Lighting business (LED Manufacturer), and could help you out with a lighting solution for the basketball court and garage! HMU

Mental health affects every single human being on the planet...my daughter has ADHD & anxiety. I have learned so much in the last 6 years trying to advocate for her. Brodie you may think you are alone but you are not, most people don't get diagnosed due to Stigma and it dramatically affects their entire life and those of their family's. You mentioned getting a PT due to comments about "Dad Bod" well be your own person and anyone that sees those comments should politely remind others not to judge! Try Yoga for the ADHD...the breathing disciplines and the muscle contractions has a dramatic affect on calming the brain. Also changing the name to extras shows your humility once again Cheers mate YBS forever! respect to all from Canada!

Hey Brodie, You're not alone but it's good that you share what ADHD is like for you (in a no doubt small sense) Most of us are pretty closed about that subject & I can say that at 44 years old I've never been on medication for it and it took many many years to even get a small handle on it (Diagnosed at 2 years old) It changes all the time, no two days are the same, on a positive note though (for myself at least) I am almost always perpetually happy & easy going & just love life! Years ago I always knew that people loved me & the way I am but I could never figure out why. Well years later it clicked. I don't hide it anymore, I embrace it and my life has been so much better for it too! I have a tiny channel, I'm not asking for anything from you but one day I will document what it's like as an "adult" to go through the medical diagnosis etc ( I feel like I'm 10 years old all the time) I want to share what I know & my experiences. I think you should too in a proper format. You might help save many lives by doing that with the community reach you have here in Australia. From all the research I've done, there's not many Aussie's that have a good following doing anything like this. That's my two Bob. Nuff said. Cheers.

Hi Brodie! I'm kind of new to the channel, but I had a feeling from the first episode I saw... I have AD-HD, and you know what it's like, we can recognise others with the same issues. :) I love what you do, it's just perfect! Thank you for cleaning the garbage where you go, I do the same here in Norway, and a lot of people give me strange looks for carrying garbage around. I am not overly fond of people, especially not in crowds. Stay salty!

Brodie I was diagnosed with severe generalised anxiety, panic attacks and PTSD (chuck in a little agoraphobia just for fun) back in 2003 after years of doing Rescue, Recovery and crime scene preservation. I would rather have ADHD any day than what I battle everyday. But life goes on and we deal with it while trying to lead a semi normal life
