Josh's frogs has really good care guides, and experts you can ask questions to about certain species. Never underestimate asking questions.

I got a Ball Python and 2 cornsnakes a year ago and apart from this channel I really can recommend Green Room Pythons and Snake Discovery. They have helped me a lot.

Omg so true. I don’t like it when people think I’m going “above and beyond” when I give my animals enrichment. This is how they should live and I’m not spoiling them or doing more than I should…?

I have often wondered who is in charge of reviewing/updating the care sheets in big box stores. As you said, as the hobby learns more, the understanding changes, and we learn more. When those guides were written, the information was probably accurate at that particular time. As the knowledge base has increased, the sheets don't seem to have been updated. Just a thought. Who knows, though, right? I try not to go into big box stores because I am always torn between rage and tears when I see how they keep their "for sale" animals.

The temperament thing is so true. I got a uromastyx under the impression that it was a good alternative to bearded dragons because so many care guides and content creators advertised them as much. Turns out that most of them are pretty skittish and it’s uncommon for one to be handleable. Those videos about “Top 5 bearded dragon alternatives” or whatever are severely misrepresenting uromastyx.

There’s also a lot of outdated equipment still sold in pet stores like reptile heat rocks and that green carpet as well as red lamps which I guess is kind of moot now that the incandescent and halogen lamps are no longer available because of the department of energy

I really hope one day those items will be removed 😅

Great job on the information in the video??😊 Do u have a code for zen habitat discounts? I might be getting a second BP and would like a min. 5x2x2 enclosure as my one currently has this size and is thriving now vs the 40 gallon one he had.

Thank you! I will leave my affiliate link here: www.zenhabitats.com/collections/zen-habitats-reptile-enclosures the discount will automatically apply on the website. They also have payment plans at the checkout. By using my affiliate link you don’t get an extra discount, but I do make a small commission, so I really appreciate if you use it. 💕

I agree.. .care guides at petsnart not very informative...and at a minimum..who actually creates these ? they need to really update them n do their research!
