They never should have banned TikTok. I never used it, but I can understand that some would want for a reason proper to them, to use this app. Freedom of speech or expression is diminishing little by little. Pity...

I distrust all of them and haven't had an account with any of them.

I don't feel like its a fair estimation if were unaware of what Instagram does when you click a Direct Tiktok App link.

It lets you open it in the app. The point is that TikTok ended the practice of allowing direct linking to any app except Lemon8. I am not implying that they did it conscious to promote RedNote, but it looked very convenient at that point in time.

Thank you. Good to have your perspective. It makes sense to me. I'm probably in the minority but I've never used tictoc and have no interest in Red.

I know I will catch hell for this comment but it is just how I feel. Firstly I will never act like I didn’t just start using tik tok a couple months ago because I did. And literally maybe twice a month. I am a long form content type. With that said I clicked on this video so quickly because all I was thinking about was if Americans and the nature to rebel end up being a downfall. I understand our government has been very shady over time and done beyond questionable things. I also think we complain a whole lot and tend to be entitled. I hear our citizens mock the US often and say they hate being here. But I can speak for myself when I say I have never lived in another country. Many times the grass isn’t ever greener. Even if you do not trust, like or care for how our government works 👀 we lack a certain amount of loyalty and unity in this country to think of how the middle finger to our government could hurt us as a whole. Just try to keep in mind that we have very little access and knowledge to what our government actually is aware of. Even less about the intentions of government outside of our own.

Restricted linking and algorithmic bias align with common industry practices. However, the claim that TikTok is intentionally steering users toward Rednote remains speculative, as there is no concrete evidence to support it. Personally, I maintain a neutral stance on TikTok. It’s important to note that TikTok is not the only company tracking your data-Facebook, Google, and Microsoft engage in similar practices. Unless you are working on a national security project or handling highly sensitive information, there’s little reason to worry that anyone would target you specifically. These companies primarily collect data to serve advertisements and generate revenue. I’d be more concerned about government surveillance than corporate data collection.
