I love how real and self-aware Ryan is. He realizes when he's upset, then he remembers that there are bigger problems in the world, and he knows he's complaining about a total first world problem. @@DwynTwo I mean yes its naturally human to be upset about yourself or your own situation. But when you are dealing with first world problems (like Ryan) Its important to remember others who are less fortunate than us to remind us that we are not the only people in the world. I would argue its more unhealthy to have a negative mindset that resorts to complaining (as opposed to actually *doing* something about your situation), which most of the time, does nothing to solve your situation.

@@nicktheavatar_ If it improves your mental state, then it does improve your situation, because afterwards you can do something about it. Sometimes you simply NEED to cry or tell someone how crappy you feel, otherwise youre just bottling things up. In that situation, being reminded that less fortunate people exist doesnt make me feel better either. Sure, generally you need to acknowledge your privilege, but sometimes it's okay to think about yourself and not others. If I lose my dog, pointing out that other people have lost their children wont make me feel better and I may resist the urge to slap someone if they try to put it in that perspective.
