@dukheelee790421 күн бұрын
The immigrants have no idea until they get to the USA. They think they're going to the USA of the 80s. Oh the shock.... to realize that now their home countries are much healthier, and better, and saner, and more beautiful, and cleaner, and more spiritual, and more educated, and the USA feels, looks, and smells like the most God-forsaken place on earth. First hand experience from an immigrant here and the immigrants I meet. Many of them leaving! One of them said "It's like having entered a hunted horror house and I want out! "

Being a military brat myself growing up until 18, we got used to it. Back in the 90s at least they had good programs for kids to meet new friends quick (clubs, sports, etc)…and with the internet coming along it was possible to email old ones. Not sure how it is today but hopefully even better.

I'm an American and I live in Salvador, I love it here and I think my quality of life in Brazil is nice. Beaches, good weather, good food, friendly people, sense of community, it's very possible to live cheaply. There are so many advantages to Brazil, more so if you are productive. If you don't work in Brazil and just hang out at barzinhos all day, life will suck in Brazil. If you focus on money and productivity you can live fine here.

American politics is relevant to every country on Earth, so if you feel like you are far away from it, that's just because you are enjoying a temporary state of ignorance. I live in the Balkans, and I watch the politics in the US more closely than our own, as our city states can't really make any independent decisions anyway.

This is important. America is the big kid. They are the bully and power. They spend so much on military protecting tiny countries or european countries while those countries spend a fraction on their own military (percentage wise). When war comes, and it will, youll be happy youre American. People will take those small friendly countries first as a power play, then maybe come for the U.S. If they do attack the U.S directly. It will be quick, swift, and maximum damage. They wont win a war of attrition and dont want to try.
