I (🇸🇪) hear a lot about Poland these days… I’ve had family members and friends vacationing in Poland recently and any day now a young relative moves to Poland to study to become a veterinarian. And I really do admire their stance on Russia-Ukraine (although not surprising, still impressive).

Polish women? I would say that is the best of my country. And I don't mean their beauty (they are really beautiful), but strong character, charisma, own opinion, life balance, ambitions and still being very feminine. I am glad that finally found out not only their beauty, but much more important feachers.

it's true that Poland's development is fast, but the history of my country is even more beautiful. Poland won more battles than the Roman Empire, do you know 300 Spartans? 400 Poles won the battle against 40,000 Turks, the Battle of Hodow, the Polish Sabaton lost the battle, but there were 40 Germans per Pole, the fight lasted until the very end until the ammunition ran out, the Polish 303 Squadron, which saved England, if it weren't for us it simply might not exist . Poles saved the whole of Europe many times. We also once had the most powerful army in the world, the Husarie(Huzar is other formation but is not husaria), which did not lose a single battle for 125 years. Our constitution was the second in the world after the USA, but in fact we had a substitute for the first constitution in the world called the Articles of Henry in 1573.

I'm a woman and I'm from Ukraine. Moved to Poland after the war started in my country. It's a great place to live, but I'm not sure about 50/50 division in tech. I'm a developer. Currently, I work in team of 8 ppl. 3 out of 8 devs are women, but 2 of 3 are from Ukraine. In previous company I worked, a dev team consisted of 20 ppl and only 2 women were there at the beginning, but most of the time I was alone. Of course much more girls work as BA and QA. But in Ukraine we had a lot of qualified female dev engineers. So it was quite a surprise for me how few women I work with. But anyway. Country is great. With it's pros and cons, but I'm loving it

Want to compare safety in Poland with other European countries? Here you go! Here are many safety indicators. I recommend the film „Dlaczego POLSKA jest TAKA BEZPIECZNA?” (Why is POLAND SO SAFE?) from the channel Globalista - Oskar Bednarski. /English subtitles available/ This data will be a surprise. And an interesting theory as to why Poland is so safe.

I lost my job, I've been looking for a year now, I live with my parents at 23, I'm depressed and have no particular prospects for what to do next. Poland is like that for a reason. If you know, then you know. Of course I wanna point out, coming from Estonia, I bet Poland has the same problems we have. Yes IT sector is crazy ahead, but it leads inflation as well and every other sector is far behind, so people find it much harder to survive in those sectors, even when the number are "beautiful". Also with the production value and the tone of video IMO it kind of seemea as paid video... I am sorry. Poland is beautiful, safe and one of the richest countries coming behind the curtain, but then again being in one of those countries that rank top... everything is not glitter that shines...

This video is actually an advertisement for one of the IT companies and that is why everything is presented in such a way in it. In addition, the film also compares the standard of living of people from Europe to the USA (safety, health care, quality of food, working conditions, etc.). But all in all, everything it says is true, if you look at the way Poland (and not only Poland, because this also applies to countries in our region, including Estonia) has come, it is nevertheless impressive. Of course, from our Polish point of view it doesn't look so beautiful, because we ourselves know that we have messed up a lot of things, a lot of things didn't work out and it could be better - every Pole, if you ask them, will rather complain that it is hopeless, it sucks and in general a lot of things went wrong. But when you look at the numbers and the facts, it's not so bad after all, and that's nice. And in general, it is very nice that such development and growth does not only concern Poland but also the Baltic countries and our southern neighbours. Best regards to Estonia. You are also great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shocking information about Poland's economic development: "World Bank data for the years 1989-2023 indicate that in 2023, Poland overtook Russia for the first time in history in terms of the value of exports of goods and services, reaching $ 469.01 billion, while Russia's exports amounted to $ 466.6 billion" Source of information: press article published on the Internet on October 11, 2024 by Robert Kędzierski entitled "Polska wyprzedza Rosję w eksporcie towarów i usług. Pierwszy raz w historii". It is also worth adding that Eurostat reported that in January 2024, average unemployment in the European Union was 6.0%, while in Poland it was only 2.9% 👏 In addition, inflation in Poland is systematically falling and is estimated to be only 3.5% in 2024 👍 while wages in Poland are systematically increasing and in the first quarter of 2024 they increased by 14.9% ✌ and in the second quarter of 2024, for the first time in history, wages in Poland were higher than wages in the Czech Republic 💪

@cvl9053
@cvl9053 2 ай бұрын
@@leno_o17 I believe it's because "state" is associated mainly with the USA. Please remember that English isn't the first language for the majority of Europeans. People might think that you see different countries in Europe as similar to a different state in the USA. And since each country in Europe has different culture and language, people might get mad about it.
@leno_o17
@leno_o17 2 ай бұрын
@@cvl9053 I know, there aren't many people in the world for whom English is a first language, I'm Polish myself. However, when you learn a language and you choose to communicate in it, you have to realize that there are certain standards regarding vocabulary. It's normal to associate the word "state" with the US because it's probably the most commonly known reference, but feeling "offended" by that, simply indicates a lack of education and ignorance. I'm sure plenty of people in Europe don't feel offended at all, particularly in the Germanic countries, because they use exactly the same word-like the German "der Staat". A state is, according to dictionary: a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government. For example, "Germany, Italy, and other European states." In that sense, the states in the US use this word somewhat excessively nowadays (literally, they are called "States" because they were originally considered independent countries. Until some agreement, the name of which I don't remember, joined them into one federation). Country and state can usually be used interchangeably, but it’s the same case as our "kraj" and "państwo" or, for example, in French "pays" and "état." Country refers more to a geographical unit, borders, land, etc. Państwo has a more political/administrative meaning. Not to mention it just sounds better because it contains the notion of subjectivity and sovereignty (more than "country"). For example, Scotland is a country itself, but it is also part of a multinational "state", the UK.

Says a lot about his travels thru Eastern block when Poland WITHOUT DOUBT feels most Western. First his American, Western biases is showing( post communist nomenclature gets old very quickly, I guess like if we still called US British excolonies) and second theres no doubt Polish culture and whole country is more or less very similar if not identical in many aspects to western nations, but if he's really oh so well travelled he would know the same can be said about most of countries around Poland: Czechia, Slovenia, Estonia, hell even rest of Baltic states or Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia would feel the same- western country with local Lithuanian, Czech or any other flavour, fully westernised capitals, still noticeably civilised a.k.a. western but poorer countryside( i doubt village in eastern Poland feels so much more western than one in eastern Slovakia). Sorry but I starting to hate this videos singling out Poland as some diamond among coal, this fanboying without actual knowledge. Poland is great country dont get me wrong, but its the same like the doom and gloom videos about US, UK or western Europe just in positive instead negative- learn few snippets, cherrypick few details, add experience living in your expat/ immigrant enclave, ignore anything else, put your desired spin on it and voila video about how exceptionally wonderful/ or horrible your chosen country is compared to rest of world.

100% agree. We are where we are only because we're a large country by European standards. Inertia carries us through crises much more steadily than small countries like Czechia, Estonia or Slovenia - we also have bigger pockets to dig in to cover the losses when we inevitably fuck up - but our standard of living is not any higher than the aforementioned smaller states. I shake with excitement just thinking where would we be with all those resources, but with Czech or Estonian attitude. We're masters of innovation and outside--the-box thinking, but it doesn't balance out our negative traits, which are actually too many to list. For people with amazing lateral thinking, we're way too often short on common sense. And don't even lemme start on *pride*... No, Poland is not the diamond. Poland is actually the master of missing the opportunity. The diamonds are the smaller post-communist countries who did as well as we did, but starting with much less. They just lack the carat count to make an impression on global consciousness. Poland became a poster child of these processes because West chose so, and since it feeds our pride, we responded very well with tax cuts, financial incentives and so on. Appealing to our pride costs nothing and works like a charm. It's a buck to bang ratio of infinity for investors.

As a Pole working in IT I must say a lot of that video is just a PR BS, this guy worked for VC funds investing in Eastern Europe, so this video is promoting our country to potential investors. A lot of what he said is true, but not everything for example, you won't be able to speak English with majority of adult Poles, unless by adult you mean 25-40 year old people working for corporations in Warsaw. In most IT companies you will rather find 90/10 - 80/20 ratio of male/female engineers, not long time ago there was still a stigma that IT people are sweaty fatsos living in moms basement, its slowly dying but effects of that are still visible when you look at senior positions.

@@MrGrucha It depends. There are companies run mostly by women (new companies like startups), those that have 80/20 split (like telco) but is close to 50/50 when you include project menagers, testers and other departaments, those that have 50/50 like game industry (indie games and outsourcing companies). So I would say 50/50 of people working on IT and not necessary engineers. Writing code is important, but that's only one part of many that are needed to create a product.

@@phoearwenien4355 I know that there will some companies that have more women then men, but there also will be some that have none (and not because some chauvinism or bigotry). We are talking about industry average, not about single cases. According to 2024 BulldogJobs survey "Badanie Społeczności IT" only 16% of IT roles in Poland are held by women, and it includes also testers, POs, PMs, BIs, UX etc. (which are engineering roles) so the disproportion is still big and it si nowhere close to 50/50.

Currently, Poland has a gigantic budget deficit due to the idiotic policy of the European Union, which forces Poland and other European countries to go into ideological madness related to the climate, which is why companies cannot bear the costs associated with it. Taxes and energy fees have increased very quickly. Currently, Poland has the most expensive energy in Europe. In addition, Poland now supports Ukraine and money from the Polish budget goes to Ukraine, and in addition, Ukraine receives military equipment and ammunition worth millions from Poland. Poland has already spent several hundred billion on Ukraine, of which it has received nothing in return from Ukraine, because in Poland we also have to support several million Ukrainians who receive social benefits.
