Leaving Mexico was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but life had other plans for me. In this video, I share the real reason I left Mexico after living there for 3 ½ transformative years. From moving abroad during the pandemic, learning to adapt to a new culture, and building a beautiful life, to facing unexpected challenges that brought me back to the United States-this is my story of resilience, growth, and starting over.
I’ll take you through:
🌴 How I ended up moving to Mexico in 2019
📖 The life-changing experiences I had while living abroad
💔 The difficult decision to leave and what’s next for me
If you’ve ever considered living abroad or wondered what it’s like to start over, I hope this video inspires you to take a leap of faith and trust the process.

Only 20 minutes from the border in Playas de Tijuana, The people confuse all black people as Haitians as there are many of them passing through to the US. ( Now that sh*t was irritating). I recently got temporary citizenship for 4 years. The infrastructure is the trade-off. I got tired of the raggedy roads and , long border wait times. Teaching english in Nimes, Sete, or Montpellier ( this is france ) those cities are 3 1/2 hours away from barcelona spain , you can go back and forth between spain and France . The fact that you understand enough spanish means you can live in that part of france ( itis bilingula ) or go to spain. now personally i would not want to live in spain. they are a little too cray for my taste. Nimes is cheaper to live and you can link all 3 cities easy.

I tell ya, I saw the decline in tech jobs last year when i worked in tech for a large company. They pay you well but they’re always layoffs. The days of keeping one with the same company for more than two years is done so it’s hard to count on it as your move abroad safety net. CDMX is that girl and I know you miss it. You’ll be back…don’t let this bump in the road discourage you ❤

I bought my house in Mexico…. Moved my family there and retired with 450k in investments at 36(still need 401k and SS when I turn 65) my wife still does some work as a graphic artist from MX to earn USD. We love it here. Will never go back most likely.

Living abroad is a dream!! You will get to find another great country to live in. Tech is very lucrative and everyone makes it seem like it’s 100% stable, but it’s not unfortunately. If you’re interested English teaching is very nice and there’s places like Japan and Korea that will house you! Best of luck out there! And I’m definitely subscribing girl! 😃

I've traveled on and off for over 40+ years. I left the US six years ago and have lived in three different countries (Mexico City, Mexico was one of them) and I'm getting ready to try a fourth country in a few months. I'll be 66 in a couple of weeks. I'm not rich nor do I have a savings so I slow travel.

Mexico City is amazing! So much to do and see there. There are also some beautiful towns south of CDMX, like Taxco and Cuernavaca! Make sure to have a couple of weeks to take it all in.
