I can relate to you 1000% 🥺 I was a young, big dreamer and overly confident person. I thought I knew everything and will achieve everything I wanted. No one in my entire family studied in the UK and I was the only one who wanted to go there and made it happen. I imagined having a blast and like you said, have the entire sorority-life package. I imagined I would be the “star student”, being “that” Asian with top grades, perfectly juggling several part time jobs, working out regularly, having an amazing and balanced routine, cooking and eating healthily, bustling social life etc. In reality, in 2012, I went to a university two hours from London (it was the best school in the UK for my course). The campus was small and not picturesque at all (nothing like those hollywood campuses and not even like the ones my siblings and cousins went to - I always visited their schools in USA and Australia). The whole town/city was very industrial and a bit rough also - not a great place to be in general. I had no friends and I was the only one from my country in my faculty. I envisioned myself having “my crew” with me in university doing everything together. I saw my other friends in different cities/countries with their cliques attending all the parties, travelling together, doing fun stuff after class. All I did was go home and watch netflix. Occasionally I would go out and watch a movie or a musical on my own. I also couldn’t find a part time job because it was a university town. The only jobs available were on campus and frankly, they only hired locals. It was a really humbling experience to learn that not all that glitters is gold and that life never goes the way I expect it to be. I remember on my birthday of my final year in university, no one even wished me in person (of course my family and friends back home wished me on whatsapp and facetime). To be fair, I’m glad I learnt to enjoy being truly alone and learnt to embrace solitude at a young age. Now my friends are in their mid and late 20s, learning “adult solitude” for the first time and they can’t cope even when we’re approaching our 30s I loved listening to your story and how similar it was to mine. A great life lessons for me at least

Hi, I'm also planning to take my Bachelor's in Paris and I'm so glad I found your channel. I just want to know if it's still possible to move and study there given that there's still virus going around? Also, are there any student jobs open for international students these days? Thanks in advance 😊 I always enjoy your videos

HI hun! thank you for watching ❣️ I think at the moment it's still possible as courses are now for the most par taken virtually but as no one know how this situation will really evolve, is hard to tell! also because non-essential stores are also closed student jobs are of course less abundant. But there's always a way to make things happen so if you still want to come, your best bet is to contact the universities directly and maybe come with some saving for the next few months in case finding a job is harder than expected 😁 hope that helps!

Hi, I know this video is old but would like to know about studying in France at 17? My daughter will graduate early also at 17 and wants to do the French language program at Sorbonne Nouvelle. I think in your video you said you studied at Alliance France? Would she be able to do the language programs as well?
