Wow Brad, thanks for this message! God is about love and inclusivity. I applaud you and admire for your bravery and honesty! A lot of churches now are being exposed. God sees all and will continue to expose them all in time!

I basically left the Baptist church because I was forgotten by them even though I had gone to the church on Wednesdays and Sundays for around 20 years. My job required me to work hours that would not allow me to participate in gatherings so I basically was 'out of sight, out of mind' status even though I went to Bible Study, Wednesday night dinner and choir rehearsal, as I sang in the choir. Add to the fact that, as I really started maturing spiritually and attending other churches, I began to learn things about my relationship with God that I was not taught in the Baptist Church. I believe that an "order of worship" as printed out in a bulletin each Sunday is very rigid and does not allow the Holy Spirit to move among believers as you would find in a Charismatic style worship service. Charismatic worship and contemporary music in worshp is now my real and only preference. You cannot keep God in a box. So their worship services became very frustrating and empty for me. And they steer away from any teaching about how the Holy Spirit works and moves in a person's life, basically, I believe, because they do not know themselves. I do not embrace their belief about Christian spirituality and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I have no misgivings about leaving them. I did, however, enjoy singing in the choir and teaching the Bible the few times that I did for 10th grade boys. That was very meaningful and a blessing. But other than that, I do not miss them, nor desire to reunite with them. I gave my heart to Christ in my late teens and I now am 70 years old.

I’m a believer in Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior, I pray if you read this or anyone reads it that it comes from love. If we are in Christ we are one body with many parts. We have to help each other. We also have to know that sin is sin. We can’t point out what we want sin in general is sin. God paid a high price for us to come out of sin through his blood. God just wants us to trust him and his will for our lives. God was crucified for everyone of our sins and was the Atonement for us to be made with God. God says if we love him keep all his commands and understand that he wants his will to be done. Please don’t let the enemy try and deceive the body of Christ. Let’s obey God’s word which is truth and let man be a lie. I pray this helps everyone love you all and pray for strength in God and for everyone to obey God’s word and repent for our wicked ways and turn to God and seek his face. God loves you so much that he gave his only son to be crucified for us sinners and he knew no sin. Love you all in Jesus name.

One of the problems with Christianity is that most sermons are either solely about the New Testament or are Joel Osteen style sermons that have very little to do with either the New or Old Testament. Most of Joel Osteen type sermons resemble improved Tony Robbins motivational type lectures on how to be successful in life or resemble get rich quick schemes. Deuteronomy 4:2 basically says not to substitute Joel Osteen type material for the Old Testament as Joel Osteen type sermons support Christianity’s adulterous & idolatrous worship of idols, money & financial success. The reason the Old Testament or Tanakh is so important is that the Old Testament is more or less a history book of the human race. And if you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes you have made in the past. The main problem with the New Testament is that in terms of a history book, it only goes back to the time of JC. The New Testament just doesn’t cover a very long time period. The Old Testament goes back to creation of the universe and covers a much larger time frame. The big question is about whether or not Christians should be worried in the least. The answer is found in Isaiah 27:1 with the Leviathan representing Christianity. G - - always lives up to His promises. Of course, you would only know this fact if you have read the Old Testament. Another thing to consider if you are well read in the Tanakh is that the Levites lived on tithes in exchange for teaching G - -‘s word to the populace. Not long after the prophet Joshua died, the Levi group of priests much like Joel Osteen began teaching the populace more about what they felt the populace wanted to hear with the motivation largely being to get the biggest donations. Once Jews re-instituted idol worship & turned away from worshipping G - -, G - - had approximately 95% of the Jewish population massacred first by the Assyrian army and then by the Babylonian army. Only a small remnant of Jews survived. G - -‘s punishment for the Jews was considerably worse than what happened to Jews in World War II in terms of percentage of the population massacred. And G - - considered Jews His children. So if you think Christians will somehow escape G - -‘s wrath from idolatrous Joel Osteen type preaching, then think again as G - - doesn’t have the same type of relationship with Christians due to Christian worship of JC as their savior. Isaiah 27:1 will eventually prevail, and G - - will very likely not spare even a single Christian artery or vein. In fact Obadiah 18 basically states that there will be no survivors from the house of Esau. Are there any other unforeseen problems created by Joel Osteen type preaching whereby very little Tanakh based scripture is taught during sermons? Yes. First Christians suffer immensely financially & socially from this type of Tanakh-free preaching. Just look at how many radio talk shows have popped up in major cities across the USA with the theme of “catching cheaters” in regards to adultery. Cheater themed talk shows are incredibly popular and are now major advertising revenue creators for radio talk shows as radio listeners love to hear about other peoples’ misery. Adultery, and divorce caused by adultery is absolutely rampant throughout America. The social costs are in the multiple billions in terms of children who now live with one parent or who now have to move back and forth between parents during the holidays. Poor quality, low Tanakh content Joel Osteen type Christian preaching also invariably leads to rampant antisemitism when divorced broken family angry Christians look at their happily married Jewish neighbors who tend to not only be happy in life but who tend to have multiple happy and well adjusted children. And all this Christian divorce, misery & unhappiness could be so easily avoided if only Christians would realize that the only person cashing in on Tanakh-free sermons is possibly Joel Osteen and his family. Tanakh-free sermons create a situation much like the mega state lottery where there is only one 400 million dollar winner and everyone besides the winner loses the $3 they paid for the tickets. With Tanakh-free sermons, Joel Osteen is the main lottery winner. Additionally, the Christian version of the Old Testament in the Christian Bible has been so severely altered to support Christianity’s love for idolatry and adultery, that the Christian version of the Old Testament is no longer even remotely usable. Go to Sefaria.org or Chabad.org to get an unaltered free online version. If you don’t believe adultery is a problem in the USA just contemplate the proliferation of morning radio show programs about catching cheaters. Additionally, what does the Tanakh or history of the human race say about false prophets/ preachers who lead their sheep-like followers astray for massive financial gain? Well, it never, ever ends well. For example, mega-preacher Gwen Shamblin Lara who instead of teaching Tanakh based scripture, tried to get Christians to lose weight through nutrition. Gwen Shamblin Lara perished at a very young age in a plane crash along with her husband and 5 other church leaders. And the list of Christian-type total disasters goes on. The reason Gwen Lara Shamblin perished is that historically one of G - -‘s main weapons of destruction for His enemies is disease / pestilence. Obesity is a disease, and if G - - had allowed Gwen Lara Shamblin to continue living, she would have been in direct conflict with G - - in preventing Isaiah 27:1 from coming to fruition. Read last 3 paragraphs below to learn about G - -‘s other preferred weapons He sometimes uses on His enemies. I know many people feel “saved” by JC, but there is a big difference between “feeling saved” and actually being “saved.” For example, you might feel totally saved & safe jumping off a plane 30,000 miles up because you “feel” you have the best parachute money can buy. However, if you forget to read and apply Tanakh to your life and cheat on your spouse, you won’t actually be safe if the parachute cord was cut by your spouse after discovering the affair. But, then it is too late once you’re headed downward at 110 miles per hour. You see, you don’t want to end up fulfilling Isaiah 27:1 with your own life. If you’re interested in current events about the talk about the Gog Magog war starting, read Ezekiel 38:18-23. Isaiah 27:1 basically continues with Ezekiel 38:18-23 if you want to learn what happens when G-‘s anger flares up over army invasion of Israel’s soil. G - -‘s weapons of choice will be pestilence, bloodshed, torrential rain, hailstones & sulfurous fire, so that the world will know that G - - is both Lord and savior. Judging from past holy wars, bloodshed is typically referring to as some type of psychological warfare on enemy army where enemy soldiers standing next to each other begin fighting each other in confusion. You see that if you are well read in Tanakh, you see the world through a very different lens, and you immediately see and understand that the current war Russia is unleashing on the world is nothing more than G - -‘s very creative way of using a number of countries to fulfill Isaiah 27:1 as G - - once unleashed the Babylonians & Assyrians on Israel as a very creative form of punishment for the Jews. Ukrainian Jews were less than 1/2 of 1% of the Ukrainian population, and post World War II Jews are incredibly well versed at exiting war torn countries well before situations worsen. The main concept from the scriptures that directly relates to current events is the concept of “bloodguilt“ and the book of Samuel I. Vladimir Putin will very likely end up exactly like King Saul due to excessive bloodguilt - premature death - but not before first being used by G - - to bring Isaiah 27:1 to fruition. 367

They need to say that about all sin then not just pick and choose which one. I hate when churches just focus on one sin as the main sin

Sad to say, you're deceiving yourself as many of the wolves in sheeps clothing have done. Sorry for the conflicting hypocrisies you've had to witness, but your own relationship with the Heavenly Father is on His terms not ours...

A friend of mine left the Catholic church many years ago and he went and talked to his priest before leaving. He said, there are some things In my bible that aren't in your church, and there are some things that are in your church that aren't in my bible, can you explain these things? I find this true of any church where people are involved. John 8 talks about the woman caught in adultery. At the end Jesus asks here where her accusers went. He then said 'I don't condemn you either. Now go and sin no more.' I find that's true for all of us, whatever our sin issue is, do we recognize and listen to His word and then do what he says. We all are imperfect, we all sin, so... Each of us will stand before God and give an account. At that time it will be about us individually, what we were and what we did, and not about others. Red, yellow, black, white, straight, gay, at that time it will be one on one with God. I pray you find your Shalom!!

Great video. I’m happy you found a church that you love! As a pastor daughter I grew up heavy in the church and now 17 years old I definitely feel disconnected from church. The sexism and homophobia was definitely the biggest breaking point for me along with many things that happen in the church along with many biases. The ability to challenge your own belief/find your own path in life is so huge, I don’t know you but I’m SO proud of you. I’m beyond scared to tell my parent that I’m no longer Christian but I know now what’s best for me personally now ( I believe in being spiritual instead of being religious) your video is so refreshing and i appreciate it. Your story is important thank you for opening up about it all.

I met my wife at the Baptist College and were married for 51 years. She had MS for 26 years and I cared for her for almost all that time. She passed in June 2022. She was very accepting of me as a gay man, which was medically proven in my case during electronic shock therapy. As my very accepting wife was nearing the end of her life, I thanked her for accepting me as her gay husband and she said, "Of course. That was easy. Why wouldn't I?" She was amazing. I am not sexually active and not looking for a husband. Too old now. We have a son and a daughter and 4 grandsons. I was told I was not welcome to even attend church just because I am gay. How different my life would have been if I had known that as a teenager.

I am leaving the Baptist church for three reasons: 1) I feel that I can do more for Christ. 2) I'm going the distance in my walk with the Lord, but prayers are not being answered. 3) While at Baylor (Grad: 1991), the females at Baylor were absolutely arrogant, haughty, stuck up, and felt that they were better than everyone else. That was 33 years ago, and I'm still P.O.'ed about that. I experienced this same thing at First Baptist San Antonio and said no more, so I walked away from the Baptist faith. I am going Mormon and never looking back.

Hey Brad! I was at the baptist church and I also left. The man I was dating I truly believe was trying to be straight and things just weren’t adding up. I guess I really hurt him. I just don’t think people should hide behind who they really are. I have problems with my sexuality but am female and want to be with men. I’m now going to an open door church with my ex of 6 years who’s always accepted people. Now I understand why those who are LGBTQ at the open door church do not open the Bible. This is the problem Christian’s say that they are accepting of the LGBTQ community but when you come out you are disowned. This is why I had to give up the baptist church I spoke up with my ex and was worried that he wasn’t really straight so I had to leave so that he could go back to church. I think he’s afraid to go back now because he knows that if I say something to the pastor he will be kicked out of the church. I couldn’t hurt someone like that though even if they did me wrong that’s not the God I serve at all.

It's all about fellowship with God. That is what the Christian life is all about, not the church we go to. Of course we want to seek the fellowship of believers where they walk in God's love toward one another and hold to the teachings of God's word, the Holy Bible. "If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of His Son Jesus cleanses us from all sin" ~ 1 John 1:7 Do you really desire to walk with God and experience His presence in your life? Then seek those things that are pleasing to Him, not yourself.

Just because that was your experience doesn't mean that's how all Baptist churches are. Those things can happen in any church but I go to a Baptist church and there are plenty of interracial couples
