I worked in the UK for a period of 28 months and I have been in the USA since May 2023. In terms of cost of living, I’m comfortable in the US even without picking up extra shifts and in a month, I earn 5 figures salary after taxes and insurance whenever I pick up extra shifts like I was doing In the UK. In the UK, my survival depended on bank shifts - I don’t regret my move. Overall, this was an excellent video.

Hi whereabouts did you move? I'm currently working in the northeast, I'm thinking of moving to USA, with my wife and child. You are right, here in Uk I have to do banks just to have extra money to save.

I have never been confused about a decision than i am now. I have been a UKRN for over a year now and i dont see myself progressing here i feel like everything is just too high for me. Im in london and you know how expensive it is and i was thinking of moving to USA coz i have also been following nurses to riches channel and looks like the US has better opportunities. I have started my application for New York as the requirements are less, am just waiting for my ATT. But after watching your video am not really sure if i have made the right decision, i wish i could get more clear guidance on this. Do you think the US is better than UK. But all you do is give evening and 7:00am meds which are few. You have carers doing the rest.
@maryasamoah9378 Жыл бұрын
@bglr2783 how sure are you? I have only 3carers with me on the shift and per the home's policy, we act as a 4th carer in addition. Which means pairing with one carer to do personal care and repositioning in the morning b4 medication round plus Insulin and Bm monitoring. Coupled with any issues that may arise. It may be easier where you know but not where I am
@bglr2783 Жыл бұрын
@@maryasamoah9378 yes the medication rounds in the morning is usually just then 7:00am meds which will be very few. Nursing home staffing in the US is terrible as well from what I have heard. 30 plus patients for one staff. So no difference.

Informative and educative but I think you generalised everything which I found to be a little off. In terms of salary, cost of living it’s always going to depend on the state you live in and once you put everything under one umbrella it makes it tough.
@ManasseyTetteh Жыл бұрын
Your feedback is true but, let’s scope of this video is not to delve into the details of every state I’m speaking from my experience, which is why I stated that that is what I pay. It is unfortunate that it came across to you as a general representation of what’s happening in every state in the United States, which is not what I said. But I hope this video helps bring some value to you. Thank you.

@@ManasseyTettehThis video is very informative and one can tell a lot of preparation went into it. Good job. I could get 2 or even 3 seperate contents from this video. 1. Why you moved to the US (5 MIN) 2.Opportunities for nurses in the US 3. Personal experience as a nurse in the US and even 4. Living conditions in the US compared to the UK Most people are not interested in long videos with no exciting visuals but just an individual seated giving what almost sounds like an academic speech. It can be shorter and more fun, even if you have to seat at one place. I guess 5 to 7 min is great. These are just suggestions
@soniaotibu8136 Жыл бұрын
Excellent summary. However, I particularly like the fact that in the end everyone gets to choose the part of the video that was most valuable to them. After all it’s his experience he is sharing. I will also rather have a complete story than a story told in bits😅.
@ambitiousdukes6321 Жыл бұрын
🤣🤣🤣have been laughing for the past 5 days after watching your video and I think I should put down a comment. You have explained everything very perfectly except the fact that you clearly defended your financial illiteracy. You can’t just increase your standard of living and even go beyond it and expect to save money. Maybe first live within your means and be able to save enough then after you can think of what to do with the saved money in order to raise your standard of living. Most nurses in the UK do not even drive a car that would cost them 100pounds a month and you move to US and probably start paying $600 a month for a car eeii🤣. Ma guy you have a lot to learn about money and until you do no matter the amount of money you make would be enough
