Why I Like and Dislike the Kobe 9 Protro

The issue is that all Nike had to do was at a full length zoom strobel board underneath the react midsole, and the shoe would've been even more goated then it already is. Nike is lazy with these protros, the Kobe 1 protro was an actual upgrade and worth the protro name. The 8s 4s and now the 9s haven't upgraded anything

Kobe 1, 5 & 6 Protro are the only worth the Protro name, Nike is either being lazy or just greedy asf, they did Full-length Zoom + Lunarlon on Kobe 11 Elite on NikeID, why not do it again, just replace Lunarlon with React for all Drop-in setup

The format of this review is pretty cool. As an audience, I like it a lot how you switch from talking to balling and to talking and balling at the same time. No one does it like this. And the sound is just as good as every other thing. I thought it would create lots of echo in the gym but not at all. Even with ball dribble sounds good too. Love this, hope you keep this up 💪🏻

$240 with just React Drop-in Midsole & no Zoom unit, that’s absurd. Nike should’ve just give us Full-length Zoom + React Midsole for every Kobe’s that has Drop-in setup, they did it with Full-length Zoom + Lunarlon on Kobe 11 Elite on NikeID, just change it to React

To be honest the only Kobes that actually got the “Protro” treatment is the 1 and the 5. All the others really feel like re-releases. At least they still perform as good as the originals… but for 250… sheesh.

Should have added the drop-in midsole from the Zion 3. The forefoot/full length zoom drop-in would have made this shoe an actual Protro.

I hated the carbine fiber plates on the 9s. They dug into my heel. I still have my elite 9s but had to get the wow 10s because they're so much more comfortable. But I wanted the wow 11s but saw that the 10s were more favored.

Yeah if I’m gonna spend $250 for these, I shouldn’t have to worry about traction durability just from playing indoors. I had the Kobe 9 when they released in 2014, and the traction never failed as long as I kept them, especially for indoor hoops.

Nike does not care about the consumers!!!!!! They just know we will just buy the shoe and that’s all that matters to them. They know what folks like, want, and expect out of their performance shoes, but if they can charge the high price tag and save on getting the shoe produced then they’re doing what makes more profit.

Oh yeah mean other than the raffle to get a 10 year old shoe and paying 250+ as a start… lol there is nothing to like. If you pay more than 180$ max for basketball shoes, you have been scammed, period…every single Kobe sneaker is obsolete… the difference between his shoes and shoes now is staggering…the technology has come so far, if you pay more than 100 dollars for a pair of shoes that old, even if it’s a re release, you got scammed once again…do yourselves a favor and get a pair of Curry’s or Dwayne Wade’s… I play in those as well as several pumas on the regular and I assure you, they are better than the Kobe 6s and 9s, both of which I played in substantially…don’t believe me? Take a look at nikes stock and their progress with technology compared even to adidas…Nike is obsolete in the basketball world as far as shoes go in my opinion…

You guys don’t understand. Adding full length zoom takes away from the essence of the shoe. Kobe’s shoes are heavily geared towards guards and balance. Although bigs also love them. All that extra stuff takes away immensely from court feel. I think they hit it out of the park. Especially if these take away that clunky bulky heel feel that the original Elites have.
