Thank you for this review. I've had my eye on Pakayak a long time but all the videos I could find were promotional. I wanted to see a "normal" kayaker give his/her impressions. I have a number of kayaks and I may have to add the Pakayak to my fleet.

Can confirm... I own a modified oru kayak coast xt. I did a head to head with it and the Pakayak. I liked the Pakayak more. Mods to the oru were foot braces...and other comfort things. With a few comfort upgrades to the Pakayak I can see I'm going to like it quite a bit. I can also go faster in it which for a 14 ft boat was impressive. It's heavier, which sucks, but I could still carry it to the water and it was the older "heavier" version.

Sorry that happened to you. I have never had any trouble with mine leaking. You do need to make sure that your gaskets are properly seated and that when you clamp both hull sections together, they are properly seated. Also, you need to make sure there is no sand or grit inside the gasket areas. Otherwise, you should never experience a leak. Mine is bone dry when finished. One of your gaskets must've been out of place.

@@KayakCliff The gaskets have been a concern of mine. They may work when the kayak is new but as it ages, don't you think they might leak?

Hi Cliff hope you had a great Christmas. I have to agree with everything in this video, I love the PakAyaK But I do have trouble with the weight so like you I have the C-Tug and as you said it works great with the boat. One thing I do when it on the trolley is leave the stern peace off until I get to the water because I have scratched it on the ground once or twice. Paddle in the warmer months (SeattleWA) with my wife in a Sea Eagle Explorer 420X, an inflatable. Awesome boat. Thinking about paddling in the cold months in a single and lusting after a Sea Eagle RazorLite 393RL. Concerned about how the inflatable would do in the cold what with the folding of the boat when the PVC material is cold and loss of air pressure when the boat hits the cold water. The PAKAYAK is double (+/-) the price of the SeaEagle Razorlite and heavier; but worth it?? I think so.

Hey, thank you so much for watching and commenting on my video! As someone who has and loves both boats that you speak of - the RazorLite and the Pakayak. I think both would be applicable for you. You would just want the razor light to get acclimated to the outdoor temperature, then maybe even dip it in the water for a few minutes and then pump it to 10 PSI with a battery pump once the temperature is acclimated for you. Of course, for a cold weather paddling you can't beat a sit inside kayak and you don't have to worry about temperature regulation with a hard shell. I like how you can seal off the cockpit with a skirt to keep the elements out of the inside! Like I said, you cannot go wrong with the packet yak. It's 10 pounds lighter now too! I was wondering if there was already a demountable stand-up paddle like this kayak. That way you'd have a rigid stand-up paddle that's even easier to transport than an inflatable one.

I am not aware of a standup paddleboard that is configured like the Pakayak. I would just go with an inflatable paddleboard. It will pack down extremely small! Here is the one that I use and love! The LB11 - All Paddleboards: bit.ly/35b6VBV

I'm definitely not aware of a rigid standup paddle board that breaks down. Let me know if you ever find one.

@chicoary I guess, maybe for some people. It would not be possible to nest them together and have them as a small package. I prefer an inflatable standup paddleboard by far. Much better option.

Thanks for the response, I'll keep that yak in my memory bank for the future. I currently have a Hobie Compass and it's a great ride and I really enjoy the comfy seat but it is a heavy thing to handle and cartop.
