I don't believe humans were designed for such complex lives. We aren't meant to absorb so much information, be busy all the time or know everything that is happening in the world. And pushing so far past our limits is making us ill. Those who are able to simplify their lives in a world that demands so much of us, are very lucky ❤

Amen sister, I wholeheartedly agree. This is truly a value in my faith. Excessive busyness doesn't build strong roots, and negativity dries our bones. I can attest to that personally and am making changes in my life. “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Phillipians 4:8

This country is so money-driven, we present our people (especially our younger people) with such an insurmountable obstacle right from the start... it's merciless. Homes that are at a minimum $500,000 dollars, and an education that costs $300K with no assurance of a job after that, no national healthcare so if you get sick it could ruin you financially for years and years... It's no wonder so many people are rejecting it all, it's a matter of self-preservation to avoid the modern world.

Reminds me of this little story, The Fisherman and the Businessman There was once a businessman who was sitting by the beach in a small Brazilian village. As he sat, he saw a Brazilian fisherman rowing a small boat towards the shore having caught quite few big fish. The businessman was impressed and asked the fisherman, “How long does it take you to catch so many fish?” The fisherman replied, “Oh, just a short while.” “Then why don’t you stay longer at sea and catch even more?” The businessman was astonished. “This is enough to feed my whole family,” the fisherman said. The businessman then asked, “So, what do you do for the rest of the day?” The fisherman replied, “Well, I usually wake up early in the morning, go out to sea and catch a few fish, then go back and play with my kids. In the afternoon, I take a nap with my wife, and evening comes, I join my buddies in the village for a drink - we play guitar, sing and dance throughout the night.” The businessman offered a suggestion to the fisherman. “I am a PhD in business management. I could help you to become a more successful person. From now on, you should spend more time at sea and try to catch as many fish as possible. When you have saved enough money, you could buy a bigger boat and catch even more fish. Soon you will be able to afford to buy more boats, set up your own company, your own production plant for canned food and distribution network. By then, you will have moved out of this village and to Sao Paulo, where you can set up HQ to manage your other branches.” The fisherman continues, “And after that?” The businessman laughs heartily, “After that, you can live like a king in your own house, and when the time is right, you can go public and float your shares in the Stock Exchange, and you will be rich.” The fisherman asks, “And after that?” The businessman says, “After that, you can finally retire, you can move to a house by the fishing village, wake up early in the morning, catch a few fish, then return home to play with kids, have a nice afternoon nap with your wife, and when evening comes, you can join your buddies for a drink, play the guitar, sing and dance throughout the night!” The fisherman was puzzled, “Isn’t that what I am doing now?”

That’s great to hear. My thinking since childhood was towards less while I observed people wanting always more it never made sense to me wanting more because I would be after things that don’t matter and I internally chose to follow a path of less starting as a kid. Now with 26 there is nothing I want there is not even a wish I have since I always did what I wanted and had what I wanted to have sounds unusual with 26 but it’s true. The less one mentally has the more peaceful it is within that’s my reasons , why would I take care of more things who don’t take care of me ? Sounds like a waste of energy and it would as well not good and my well being has always been my biggest priority. The rest doesn’t matter

Baker here! Your cake looks lovely and at best need slight alterations to make it not as moist, but I am not sure that is necessarily the issue. Sometimes it's not about the cake recipe as much as it is about the steps in between building it. When I put together wedding cakes, especially in warmer weather, I use the fridge and freezer to my advantage. Having frozen or nearly frozen cake can ensure the stability of the cake as you're frosting it and transporting it to the location. I would recommend freezing your cakes and allowing the entire assembled cake to chill for several hours before serving at the wedding. Typically cake's on display at a wedding sit out at room temperature for a bit so the risk of it being too cold is extremely low, especially for June weddings. There are many videos on this and it has helped me stay confident. I wish you luck and I'm sure it will turn out beautifully!

Gotta say that I usually aim maximum for 10 minute videos on KZbin but something just triggered me to watch your video and i'm glad I did. You had a message that resonated so well. Having the mentality of having to always get stuff done is indeed very toxic and tiring and I needed to hear it. I'm working a 9 to 6 job and trying to edit videos to grow my KZbin channel. But most of the days I come back home tired and not having enough energy to edit and I end up feeling super guilty. Also as an outsider from your life, I would like to say and remind you that you are not living an ordinary/boring life. You have more life in your days that most people do and it's all surrounding you! Amazing video, hand work, kitchen work and more. Super happy again for watching this video and will be sharing it with some friends. Peace! ✌🏻

I’m so tired of having to work towards something whether it’s for tomorrow or five years down the line. Life is happening right now. I bought a bike this year, I started surfing, taking long walks in the rain, enjoying my rabbits playing in the garden. It’s all about the small things that make up the bigger picture - that is life.

It’s not mundane, it’s mindfulness. Living in the moment, doing dishes, cutting up trees, or weed whacking. It’s about living in the moment whatever you are doing. So happy that you figured this out young. I figured it out at 50, living the “normal” grown up life for 30 years. Looking back, I don’t regret or get upset at shutting out my authentic self out for all of those years, but look at it as a learning experience and that I am grateful for my awakening that some never reach. Now on my long drives to customer sites I try to take more back roads instead of highways, I see beautiful farms and little communities. I now just try and live in the now. My big learning experience is how to have patience. With life and my work and others. We are meant to enjoy this life take it all in and see and show the love. You have a beautiful homestead and you should enjoy it in all of its facets. Thank you for sharing the “mindfulness “ of you life, enjoy every second of it!

This video was therapy. So calming. Hearing you talk about being able to sleep for an infinite amount of time makes me feel like there is hope. Ever since I moved to the big city, I can't sleep profoundly and for more than 5 hours. I don't even need an alarm, my problems just wake me up... I hope I can move away soon and find peace

I deeply felt what you said about living a simpler life, I stopped to write it down and remind myself to slow down. Thank you for helping us remember that life is about enjoying every moment and not just working to work. Isabel is a pure spirit, teaching us how to grow the right way. "This idea that we need to be constantly working towards something, constantly pushing ourselves to do more and be more, I honestly think that is a very toxic mindset that society makes us think.. What would our lives be like if we just found a way to be content, right now in this moment" -Isabel

This is my first video of yours. I was raised farming and living in the country. I don't do a lot of those things now, but I greatly love the results of them and your videos really bring back those memories for me. Just like someone may think "Why do people listen to recordings of the storm or brook, it's just water." People find comfort and a peace in that that we don't have in our busy lives now. Your videos remind me of that. +Sub, thank you for what you do.

I resonate with this so much. For a while, I have been practicing making simple daily routines fulfilling for myself, and I owe a lot of it from having spent 60 days in Iowa, and I'm from the hustle & bustle city of Washington, DC! In my opinion, part of the game of life is about rhythms and simple routines and flowing through everyday with a sense of freshness, renewal and adventure! A friend told me that if I'm not having fun in my life, then I'm doing it wrong. Suffering is optional. It is my right to thrive. Often times, I just simply need to allow it.

Isabel thank you for sharing your family and real thoughts with us. You have inspired a 40 year old woman. I have showed my girls your videos and they are very young, but I want them to appreciate being free to be whoever they want to be. I want them to explore nature and it’s gifts. I really want them to enjoy the simple things in life. This video speaks volumes to me we loose ourselves when we are in grind mode. Life is too short! 🙌 We are here to witness the blessing from God and be a blessing to others. These past few years has showed us what passions and talents that we have and has inspired many to follow them for happiness and a way of making income. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m a strong believer that doing what we love in life is never work if we are always enjoy the process. ❤Keep doing you, Isabel! Your awesome! Take that time to travel. You deserve it. I will be here regardless, and sure many of us will. I don’t care what content you put out or how far in between, I’m here for it. Take care❤

Please remember that what might seem mundane to you, doesn't have to be for others! I've never cut down a tree and burned it, so I love watching it. And honestly I would also love to get an insight sometime into your worklife, such as when you edit! Also just to get a grasp of how much you edit in a week, what ratio of your life really is what we see in the videos, etc. Don't be afraid to be mundane or boring, for me I'm here to get an idea of what a life in a tiny house in the mountains really looks like, not to be entertained all the time :)

To prevent your cake from getting so crumbly and moist, use a little bit of cream of tartar. It will help to stiffen your cake with out drying it out. It's what we did when i went to baking school and we made stacked cakes. It worked great for me! Some people also throw in a little extra egg white to help stabilize. As someone who made my friends wedding cake, I know how stressful it can be and when a cake doesn't want to cooperate, it's a nightmare! Good luck!

I feel this words a lot, over the last months I asked myself a lot of question, I started to speak to myself, what i really want, why I felt so sad even if I was starting my "childhood dream career" I just can't feel happy or enjoying thinks, I use videogames and internet to suppress all the feelings but when i started to speak to myself and avoiding internet for most of the time I realize that, what i wanted before, I don't want anymore, I want to live, not being more, work a simple job just to sustain myself and cultivate me and my passion during the rest of the day, for the first time in a long period i felt happy. But today I am in front of a crossroad and for my family I choose the "career" path even for just a month long and I feel so unhappy, so angry that i hope this month pass so fast. I hope in the near future to be able to pursue the kind of life I want for the first time all by myself ❤
