You do you, I can't imagine how hard it would be to do a couple of video's a week, even one a week all year. You take care of yourself, we'll follow and watch. That being said, I just purchased a 2024 KLR 650 on New Years Eve. My first bike since I was a kid and you helped me decide on it. Already have ordered a few mod items, starting on the cheap items, except for the Therm-O-Bob.

Dont push yourself so hard, burn out happens pretty quick. At least you got out and rode, even on the ice. Love watching the videos you post, even the e-bikes. You do inspire more people than you think. I just have to remember to hit that like button. You do good work with your videos. They inspire me to get back to my projects.
@SwankyCatProductions2 күн бұрын
Indeed it does! I'd been having to remind myself constantly how much I SHOULD be enjoying what I'm doing, but that's not easy to do when you're always stressed about time and perfection. I think this should really be good for me and the channel and really made the icy ride a lot less stressful as well! Knowing that I'm having a positive impact and motivating others also really helps boost my morale, so thank you!!!

I do watch the longer videos, but my favorite is about a 15 minute episode. Thanks for your content, it’s good stuff!

I appreciate the honesty and I think some shorter videos once in a while are probably a good idea for a lot of reasons. Thanks!!!

You’re on the right track man. I like the variety of lengths you have, the mix of shop and riding videos, and I think continuing to focus on the quality and in depth, thoughtful content is what differentiates your channel from the rest. Keep what works, and adjust to keep it going, the quality of your content is worth doing it right. Take care and have a great start to the new year!

I absolutely love your content man! You are 100% on the right track to becoming one of the bigger moto KZbinrs your personality and detailed explanation on everything is what sets you apart from the rest! Kinda reminds me that I’m watching a revzilla/bikes&beards episode. I think most of us want too see your thoughts on the DR once you address the suspension and carb. You might never swing a leg over the xr again lol just kidding I love the comparison videos! Keep up the good work

I enjoy your content because you put a lot more effort into shooting the video as well as editing it. The content is good as well. The fact that you look AT the camera makes it a much more pleasant video to watch as well. I feel like you are talking to your audience rather than talking to some unknown entity standing off camera. Too many other moto content creators always shoot a video and look off to the side of their camera. It makes less of a connection to the audience when they do that. It's like having a face to face conversation, and the other person always paying attention to something behind me, and not making eye contact when we speak. You put a lot more thought and effort into your videos as well. You have a nice little mini studio setup and a nice clean, organized, tidy and well lit garage for maintenance / upgrade videos.
@SwankyCatProductions2 күн бұрын
Thanks man! I'm really glad to hear that all the little details are appreciated! I also really appreciate the comments about eye contact. Honestly I've never really given that much thought, but I'll be sure to keep doing what I have been now. Thanks!!!

Many don't realize the 20 min video can take many hours to produce.....take several hours to film...take several hours to bring it down in size and time...correct the video...sometime add some music......now into a good day...and oh oh....got to do over when the camera stopped working, or the mic came unplugged, or battery went dead....or you fell off.....😁..gotta cut that mistake. I really don't know how you do it. Keep up the good...no...great work! Garth

How many content creators have said the same thing. YT started as a way to share something cool. It was fun and funny and interesting and enjoyable. Why are you fighting an algorithm man? You can't win and it drives "content creators" crazy. Just post cool stuff and have fun - OR get some help and try to "grow the channel". I just saw ANOTHER Helene disaster video by a creator and you could tell they only did it for the clicks. It was horrible and it seemed like their little extended family posted comment after comment to boost the video. It was trash. Social media is such a trap.
@SwankyCatProductions2 күн бұрын
Mmm yeah, I try to stay as far away from that type of thing as possible. I've always preferred to do things my own way and sort of enjoy going against the grain. I'm happy to keep chugging along at my own pace as long as we can pay the bills and I think it'll make the content I do much better for everyone.

Wish I understood your workflow and goals. I’m pretty sure I could help. Definitely hit and heavy into building these automations and even if not fully automated, combining some of the more tedious tasks for multiple things for this exact reason. Time! More time more volume that can be injected into everything else.
@SwankyCatProductions2 күн бұрын
I also wish I understood both of those things 🤣. Wasting less time frantically trying to get videos together should help, but after that perhaps speaking some sort of assistance might not be a bad idea!
@OutdoorOath2 күн бұрын
@ right?! I need to get through a few things but I’m pretty sure we will get some things figured out that will change the game. I’m actually quite confident that will happen. Just no way to put a timeframe on it. Days like today, splitting headache and working but not on any major projects.

Being a content creator is going to be stressful, but just do what you enjoy, document it and be positive and I can guarantee your channel will grow. Although you may not have a lot of views immediately on your videos they will add up over time. Those views from older videos make more of a difference the longer you do this and create a more passive income for you. Choosing your motorcycle reviews and content wisely will leave you successful. So far so good. I think it would be a good change to go to one of the anticipated new motorcycles and focus on that. I think most have their eyes on the KTM 390 adv, but the drz4s would be great too due to the large amount of aftermarket add ons you could use to create content.
@SwankyCatProductions2 күн бұрын
Very good advice - thank you! The 390 and DRZ4S are on my short list, but I'm also pretty interested to see what happens with the KLE500... I suppose we'll just have to see which one I can get my hands on first! No matter what though, I think I'll be a lot better off now that I've made this call and am going to cut myself a little more slack 😴
@joshdoddadbod2 күн бұрын
@SwankyCatProductions kle500 would be great as well and if they get it right will be very popular. Yea man it's hard to not stress when taking care of your family is on the line, but life shouldn't be stressful. If things went sideways you would find a way to make things work out. No point in worrying until there is something to worry about. Keep on keeping on. I have been contemplating trying to get into the creator space for a while but it's a lot of work just to get started. You've done that work and laid a foundation, don't give up!

How far are you from St Paul MN? I'm just getting into Dual Sports... I've been doing the Adventure Bike thing for a couple of years now... I'm also a new KZbinr... would love to meet up and pick your brain and go for a ride sometime.

Quality over quantity makes sense to me. Don't burn yourself out. I've seen other YTuber's burn themselves out because putting out content becomes too much of a 'chore'.
@SwankyCatProductions2 күн бұрын
Mmm yeah, I could almost feel that coming. Honestly just making this video and especially now reading all the awesome responses is a huge weight lifted and now I'm really excited to get back at it this new year! Thanks Jeff! I like the new green hat!
@airadaimagery6922 күн бұрын
At what point do you just get assistance with your editing so that you don’t have to spend so much time on it? I remember when Dork in the road got an editor, I could just tell he wasn’t doing as much for himself anymore. Not that his quality dropped or anything , you could just tell that he was creating content faster. I tried picking his brain on how he chose an editor and all that good stuff , but he wasn’t too willing to divulge those particular aspects.

Love your content.. Thanks guy.. My dream build would be that DRZ 4s made into a ralleye edition.. Exactly what The sleepers at Suzuki are missing their pot of gold.. Which is why imo the Drz build or the 390 KTM possibly would draw the most viewers to the Chanel.. There's a void where people are still looking for the unicorn.. Isn't it strange that no manufacturer has hit that cost effective home run yet? Batter Up Swanky.. Fill that void..

@@SwankyCatProductions you’ll be fine. I watch some creators just turn the camera on while they change a tire and they don’t even interact with the chat but maybe every 5-10min or so, and the audience loves it. They keep themselves occupied. Lol..

Around 15 minute videos are preferred.
@centralcoastcruiser20842 күн бұрын
I find that shorter videos like 20 min even if you break up a 40 min to (2) 20 min videos I am more prone to watch. If they're 40 min or even 35 I don't watch them unless it's going to be content I am very interested in.

1 nice video a week is normal.
@UltralightMotorcycleCamping12 сағат бұрын
Quality, not quantity. One good video a week should be good enough. Hopefully the KZbin Al Gore rhythm won't punish you for that. Filler content used to meet an arbitrary schedule will decrease the quality of your channel. Always value the viewers' time. Say something only when you have something to say. It's trite advice but too many KZbinrs drone on for two minutes with the same "appreciate you, like and subscribe....." every video.
