I just bought another DRZ after owning loads of other bikes. There’s just no other bike like a DRZ. It’s in a class of its own and the 650’s just can’t compare in terms of its off road potential. My DRZ has 27k miles and cost me $2800 as well.

Next video: what breed donkey is best to pull wagons. You should do a video about the discovery of fire or the invention of the wheel. Ya know. More modern.

Hi, just saw this Video. Nice Video, but wrong declaration: With the left knob you will adjust high- and lowbeam at the left side of the headlight together, not only the highbeam. The same with the right knob: High and low together at the right side. It is not possible to adjust high/ low separatly. See Servicemanual 2020, Page 3-30. Greetings from Germany!

Hi, Great Mods on the DR. I ride a 2006 R1200GS and I’m thinking about selling it and getting one of these. I need to downsize. I’m 64 now and I have a bad Back. The GS is getting way too heavy for me. Between the XR and DR, if you could only have one, which one would you pick? Thanks

Stick with the 650. Both great, but the 650 is a small bit more versatile and slightly better in most normal day to day work. The 400 is awesome but id take the 650 every time. Suspension on the 400 is a bit better stock, but once you get some EMU's and/or rear shock swap, the dr setup is pretty sweet. The key to the 650 is that low torque, its so damn forgiving. Ive been stuck in some thick $&*% and just chugged through or up it. Plunk plunk plunk and idle your way through almost any slop.

The DRZ has roots in competition bikes. The 650 is made from the ground up as a dualsport.

I changed my front tire and I'm currently working on the rear, quick question, does your rear wheel have a rim lock? Mine does but it's fallen apart so just ordered a new one. In your opinion is it necessary or not? I'm new to tire changing.

I think the rear shock is not adjustable, Windone wont answer that question and it didnt come with a tool. I did 3" riser handlebars and a larger front sprocket.

If they bring out the fuel injected drz that is rumoured get on the waitlist early and you will have something to make content with for several years and get good views and ad revenue. Keep on making videos, I enjoy your content.

IF there is an update, they will do the same as they did the KLR by adding weight and turning it into a ADV bike instead of a dual sport.

dead in the water with out a 6th gear.... too many other bikes in that class now have them... also with EFI you cant simply pop on a new tank... its one of the reasons i sold my klx 300... BTW a rally KLX would be a KLR killer/ It does EVERYTHING better then the KlR with less than 1/2 th cc.

You want the ultimate DRZ400S project? Source a 2000 kick-start only DRZ400 crankshaft, CDI, rotor, and magneto cover. DRZ400E head, exhaust header pipe, carb, balance shaft idler gear, and air box adapter. Source a 2024 DRZ400SM and factory kick start kit. Remove the starter motor, torque limiter, sprag clutch and replace with the DRZ400 parts and kick start kit. Put the crank, head, and thinner gasket in the SM motor. Replace the head light and taillight bulbs with LED, and replace the AGM battery with the smallest 12v LiPO that will drive the dash. Ditch the mirrors and bar ends. Swap out the street wheels for an 18/21 off road setup. Send out the forks and shocks to revalve for the new weight. Boom…DRZ400 ES with twin chamber suspension, 10+ HP, and almost 30 lb lighter, yet all the daily driver convenience features.

Best thing to do with broken bolts, is weld something to it, and try to back it out that way. Also i have never had luck with helicoils. I usually just plug weld and re-tap new threads.

I put 18,000 on a 09 DRZ. Decided I wanted a bike that was 50 lb lighter so I ended up with a EXC 350.

Wrong year.. The last of the Push-Rod Trail 90's were the 1964-1966 CT200 Cast Iron OHV 87cc, with Dual Rear Sprockets. The 1967 model year they were late arriving in the USA because of the Upgrade and restyle to the OHC 89cc becoming the CT90K0 models. Nearly ALL were titled as 1968 to 1979 for the 89cc. 1980 brought the final change to the CT110. Just looking at yours, I would say that was the second to last run Production CT200. The CT200 versions are worth more on the Market today.

I have a DRZ400e. I don’t think it needs a 6th gear, it just needs a way wider ratio 5 speed like the ACT gear set. Fuel injection would be very much welcome, but EFI and inverted forks alone would not be enough to make me interested. If they are not putting a much wider ratio gear set in it, it’s a non starter for me.

Had an 03 klx 400 and now still have a 09 drz 400sm "462" build. Great bike for the 90s. After mods these bikes are great but still 100lbs to heavy. I'd probably like the 6th gear n efi but cost has to stay the same.

I've had a couple of DRZ400s, DR650s, WR250R/Xs, XT250s, EXC500Fs, a CFR450L, a Tenere 700, a KLX 300, and even a XL500. Currently I have a EXC350F. While still not perfect, it is my favorite. Has mildly annoying engine vibration but less than the 500s which were horrible. The seat needs to be replaced if you ever plan on sitting down, it needs the KTM skid plate which is extra, and the rear plastic sub-fender that holds the turn signals on needs its mounting screws drilled and safety wired so it won't fall off, and it needs real hand guards installed. It is incredibly good on dirt. So superior to the bigger heavier bikes on single track. Wish it had a Cush drive for street, but tolerable.
