If I can steadily make 20,000 a month I’m cool with just one truck. I don’t have to have 10. 1 to 3 and my wife and I are going to be fine.

Stumbled upon your video this morning. A few weeks ago I started thinking about getting into the dump truck business. The way you were raised and the way you view everything from your video seems like we would be best friends or possibly brothers!!😄. Love the video and the honesty and the straightforwardness of every day dump truck living. Can’t wait to get into it. Thanks, and God bless‼️

I appreciate you putting this video out there. I wish I would have subscribed to you sooner. I just got into dump trucking back in May. I’m 36, and was an industrial maintenance tech for 15 years, and got tired of corporate America. I started out at a disadvantage, because I believe I made a mistake in purchasing the truck I got (‘99 Freightliner FLD120/Cummins N14) but I’m currently trying to make lemonade out of my lemons. In the past 6 months, I’ve had to basically rebuild my truck myself (including both rear diffs, and honing liners and new rings on back 2 pistons all by myself and I’m not a diesel mechanic at all). It truly is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life. I wish I would have filmed it to really let everyone know how hard this can be. You are definitely correct about having to be a self starter to be a successful business owner. I hope some day to consider myself a successful business owner, but right now, I’m trying to dig myself out of the big hole I’ve gotten myself into. Anyways, stay safe and keep the rubber side down!

I’m gonna tell you something no other KZbin trucker will. Trucking is one of the hardest businesses you will ever get into. All these KZbinrs hype it up until something like what happened the last year comes and many don’t truck anymore (high fuel prices low trucking rates). Many Companies you see out there that are successful have been at it for a while. They have made relationships and connections that will take you a long time to achieve. Many people like this guy is a Mormon. Mormon will most likely only help another Mormon. Nothing against them it’s just the bottom line. Not all the time either but it helps. It not just about if you’re a hard worker and this and that. I’m Hispanic you know harder workers than Hispanics??? You’ll need a lot of money. I had about 200 thou saved up when I bought my truck by the time I looked I was at about 125k with 25,000 in credit card debt before I moved from Vegas trucking doing dump trucking. Say all you want to say about how I’m being pessimistic but you’ll remember this comment. God bless everyone!!!

I agree with You. I am of Italian and Portuguese Ancestry. In Italy My paternal My Paternal Grandfather Came Here after being in the Battle of Adwa and worked for the Railroad as a machinist and blacksmithGrandmother’s father was like a truck broker for road construction when they still used wagons also got dynamite. I drive heavy trucks and transport equipment in My paving Business. We also hire trucks through brokers when we need them. There is a nationwide shortage of truck drivers. Be careful of Unions because they help get politicians elected who will kill us. Don’t get Me wrong Unions have their place. Like anything they can and will be corrupted. If You get a false positive DOT substance screen. A 15 minute conversation with a patron of the system will cost about $600.00 that you cannot afford in order to attend AA and NA meetings that do not apply nor can You relate to. In the meantime You go further into debt while trying to prove Your innocence and essentially buy your job back. Forget about Your good name and Reputation. You become a imposter to everyone You know just like in the story A Little Bit Of String by Guy de Maupassant. Drivers must submit witnessed urine intake’s at locations that are not trucker convenient and under punitive time constraints that if not met on time will result in You being adjudicated as a substance abuser when in fact that is not the case. In many accidents involving trucks You will be viewed with a jaundiced eye before the white collar guy who cut in front of you on His way from a corporate ass pounding party. That Poor Mexican American Kid that needed work and took a job driving trucks and ended up killing people in a fiery wreck got over 100 years in prison. The governmental licensing agent who signed him off as qualified and the company who hired Him got no prison . Yet corrupt Soros Backed DA’s and judges let violent offenders loose to kill again. They kill cops too . That truck driver kid was so shook up and distraught He admitted his part so they abuse Him like Private Trip in Glory. The recalcitrant Cop killers only got about six years or six months. They know how to squeeze the wet blanket saying they have PTSD and playing on all the sympathy for War Vets. Many of My family have seen combat up close hand to hand and never played that feel sorry for Me bullshit. Truck drivers are like cops in that you might as well be a black dodger at the county fair. As a truck driver you are exposed to oblique prejudice and discrimination. The standards that truck drivers are held to and testing must be applied with equality to all across the board to comply with Constitutional protections.

I have no desire to be an owner/op, but I’m a company driver in south Ga. On indeed, I see dumptruck jobs in the states of WI, OH, and IN that start out at well over $20 hourly, whereas many start out at or less than $15 hourly. Is there a reason that jobs up there pay more? And it’s not cost of living; WI is ever-so-slightly higher than GA, and OH and IN are actually lower (if you see a $20+ hourly job in NY or CA, you can stand by).
