In high school and I hope I never lose my passion for math

You have studied much more math than me, but I can understand what you're saying. What sparked my interest was a video about complex numbers, where this guy pulled a 2d parabola up into the complex plane and my mind was blown. We had learned about complex zeroes but never in that way. Then, the vast amount of interesting math youtube channels like 3Blue1Brown or Numberphile. I've come to think of math as some sort of infinitely complex structure. Like a 3d fractal of some sort, where one part is calculus, one is topology, but underneath they are all the same thing. This ted talk I watched talked about math as metaphors. How in one context 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 ... diverges, and in another it equals -1/12. How in one context complex numbers mean rotation and in another fractals like the Mandelbrot set. How calculus is deeply ingrained with geometry and it is up to us which lense to pick when looking at mathematical objects. It is all one thing, but there are so many ways to view it that can never be exhausted. Thanks for another awesome video. You are making me so excited to study math!

Hey BootsToBooks! I just recently found your channel and I am an undergrad who is trying to major in Mathematics! Your videos provide much-needed insight that I could not get anywhere else, so I do sincerely hope you continue on making videos. Also a further question, I took Calc 1 and I am currently taking Calc 2. I realize that Calc 1/2/3 are just the VERY VERY beginnings of mathematics and in reality, I know little to no math at all. After this semester I am hoping to seriously take the summer to expose myself to mathematics, so what are some topics (Proof, Analysis, etc.) that I should expose myself to in order to determine if Mathematics is truly the path for me? Thank you for your time.

buy Velleman or Hammack's book on proof and start from page one. also get an intro to logic and set theory book. those will provide a really good introduction to proof-writing and thinking in a very structured manner. hope this helps.

whoa man, thanking for sharing your love. I really enjoy the video, and I think it really helps me in thinking why (if at all) i love doing what i'm doing now too.

Hey. This year is the last year of my being in contact with Math and I am already missing it. I'm so in love with Math 🥰
@AnnaKateEdgemon01244 жыл бұрын
well the upside is you never have to stop being in contact with math. watch a video, read a book, try your hand at self-learning a theorem in a subject you're already a little familiar with.

I wish this video had Arabic subtitles. Because I have a hard time understanding mathematics and I hope to love and understand it

I like math because all you need to do to get a good grade is know how to get the right answer, since math only has 1 right answer. It is confusing, but I like to challenge my brain with math.
