For those who ACTUALLY want some info: 1. All body parts deform under less stress 2. Suspension lacks stabilizer bars 3. Suspension is made really soft 4. Engine power is reduced to simulate a blown gasket effect 5. simulated straight pipe exhaust 6. less grippy tires In my testing, the ladder chassis is also much softer, so this car will bend like a pancake under front impact. If you change to a powerful engine and put really grippy tires on it to try throw it around some corner, there's a good chance you'll rip the suspension straight out the body.

I think that the engine in the Barstow was replaced with a Diesel engine, judging by the 5k RPM redline and the black smoke under acceleration.

You forgot to mention that those cars are strenghtened to tackle demolition derbies. This is extremely useful in any freeroam or police-chase scenarios, because you can get away with multiple crashes, and keep on driving.

I like to use any stock config of the 200bx, that thing Is a fucking tank, but like many things it has its weak point being its drive shaft, if you hit it then your done, but anything else, and that car will keep driving until the motor dies

"The Beater" burns tonns of coolant and has a collapsed suspension. I took it apart in the parts selector.

There's something about rusty derby cars that I simply love. FlatOut and Test Drive E.O.D had amazing cars to me back when I played them as a child. I also remember the first time I watched Mad Max: Fury Road at the cinema, not only I thought the movie itself was really good, but the vehicles... They are nothing but pure awesomeness

@@b6_ruby I've been driving 40t trucks and when driving in big cities you haven't been to before, it's very useful. Also, automatic gearing in trucks is WAY better than in small cars, you don't have the feeling of it constantly annoying you. I've also driven a truck with a manual split transmission which I can't deny was fun but I still prefer the automatic gears there.

You think those "bare bones" cars are awesome in this game because "it's the raw driving experience" and "it's nothing but engine, wheels, driver and the road." You should try them in real life! That's what I grew up learning how to drive on! That's what my first car was! It was a basic, bare Bones, Nissan pulsar , straight out of my uncle's auto salvage yard. It was a manual stick shift, manual windows, manual door locks, no abs, no automatic anything. The closest thing to "traction control" was the hand operated e-brake between the front seats, behind the stick shift. But you're right, these cars ...especially in real life, can actually be far more sheer, raw fun than the fanciest, high tech cars available today. We're talking about cars that... when you're driving them on a long, winding, country road at 60 mph, the sense of speed you have, feels better than 120 mph in these modern cars. Especially in those older models, low to the ground like the old school Mazda RX7, Saab sonnet, Fiat x19, Nissan or Datsun "Fairlady". You know ...those cars that are so low to the ground, when you're sitting in the driver seat with the door open, you can reach out and put your palm flat on the ground without bending. The type of cars where, if there's a rust hole in the floor pan, and you happen to glance down at it while doing 75 - 80 around a 35-mph curve, you suddenly realize that there is only 3-4 inches of space between the tarmac racing beneath, and your butt. And when you're ripping sideways down a dirt road ...you can feel every rock & pebble that slings up, because it's hitting the underside of your SEAT ...because the sheet metal floorpan is rusted out, the only thing left is the frame that the seat is mounted to, and the 1.5 inches of plastic, fake leather, and exhausted remnants of foam "cushioning" that resembles a drivers seat. So there's literally nothing but engine, wheels, driver, and whatever passes for a "road". These are type of cars where 40 mph through dirt trails in the woods, is more sketchy & FUN, than 140 on the highway in a Veyron, because the trees are so tight, there's no way possible to make it through with both side mirrors still on the car.... These are the type of cars that you flip & roll in an old soybean field, then you get out, you and your buddies roll it back over, air out the carburetor, crank it up and take off again.... Yep, these are the kind of cars that are far FAR more fun, even at 30 - 40 mph, than the fanciest McLaren, Bugatti Ferrari, Porsche, or whatever other fancy modern hypercar, at 180mph. If you think they're fun in this game, you GOTTA try one in real life!

@@1994CivicGLi They have character and you learn to live with that, and it's just more interesting. In an old saloon you'd have to cope with the low torque and bouncy suspension, but in any modern hatchback as they're all the same it's really predictable and monotonous and samey.

I think it works that the more expensive the car gets, the more further down the list it is. That's why the beater cars are the cheaper ones and the drag, racing configs are on the bottom
