Why I love Titanfall 2 and why Titanfall 3 should have a chao garden

Another one to throw on the "It's nice to want things" pile. And also the "really long confused mess" pile
This started as a video about how I think games based off road side picnic (stalker, tarkov) were cool and how I wished they were getting cloned the same way battle royals were. Many trance-like-states later I thought this would be funny to make instead.

The Last Of Us Multiplayer had something like this; your character was actually the main representative of your own little group of militant terrorists or cannibals, and getting points and pick-ups mid-match directly translated to collecting resources for your group. If you don't get a set amount of gubbins per round, your group starts suffering. Completing challenges (revive X teammates, get X amount of ground executions, murder X amount of people with molotov cocktails, etc.) gets you even more gubbins. Progressing your group gets you more choice in loadouts and perks, and fucking up tremendously and repeatedly will kill your group members off eventually. It was surprisingly deep and engaging for a team deathmatch mode in a moviegame cover shooter.

last of us multiplayer was the most randomly awesome experience on the ps3 that was thankfully brought along to the ps4 with the remaster. I never heard anything about a last of us 2 mp tho, me wonders

Im still sad about how tribes ended, but ive never played titanfall, maybe i have to give it a shot. league of legends has the most flat progression system ever, and they already have a toxically addicted player base, a chow garden for any, or maybe all of riots games at once, would be like instant crack. Im almost worried anyone will listen to your idea. and as always amazing video!

Playing as a superheavy titan and mercing a match's worth of gamers sounds like I'm playing DOOM but instead of demons I'm crushing it's real people. That sounds like a dream. (There should also be multiple superheavy titans for added spice, and changes to the map when it deploys to make it more boss arena designed. It's next gen, this should be easy enough)

BETTER YET! You mix and match superheavy titan parts out of SHT classes. For example: A SHT that has focuses on area effects and tanking - "Golem" Now, Golem can spec hard into the tanking, or the area effect, or mix and match. The main thing about subclasses is that they have some exclusive abilities, namely exclusive ultimates, that the other Golem subclasses can't use. Subclass 1: Big dick dps over an area, such as multiple scorch fire puddles. It's ultimate ability is a map wide game wipe that, unless you're in a marked area of safety that the Golem spawns randomly, you die. Now let's say another subclass, subclass 2 is about stacking negative effects like armour reduction and speed reduction so that they are easier to pick off with low damage but hard to dodge weapons like fast firing cannons. One notable ability of subclass 2 is launching probes that progressively reduce player and titan speed. This is NOT a subclass exclusive ability. Now, what if we give subclass 1 the probe ability of subclass 2? A mapwide wipe, but the players have been slowed too much to reach a safe zone, AND THEY CAN DO NOTHING BUT PREPARE TO DIE. Idk, just a neat thought

At some point I'll do more SMT videos, there's a lot of the series I've barely seen and I'm interested in looking at it more. I may wait a little bit to do another mainline video just to see if V gets a PC port, at some point, somehow. I've heard devil survivor is really good so I may give that a try, I like tactics games so I'll probably enjoy it. Just want to avoid running through the series back to back, the videos would probably start sounding redundant if I were to marathon the games.

@@foulenergy I get that, want to keep to content fresh I've only played the first devil survivor game but I highly recommend it, it has the "there are consequences for your actions" sorta things going, and the "spending time to get to know people" of persona. The tactics side is like some 4d chess shit sometimes of abusing and being abused. You'll need those playing 5 Pokemon's at once skills 😂 Whatever you do make next tho I'll be watching, I found your channel last week and you got me hooked.

The idea at the end sounds great for added variety between many matches played, and having the teams work together after they fight at the beginning also sounds fun. It's like the enemy Behemoth in BF 1, but instead it's just one player and it's an enemy of everyone breathing in a 10 km radius, not just a team. Maybe the macro-game could be you as a Rogue AI building the super mech outta scraps left over from each match, to tie in why everyone works together to eliminate you.

what about somth like planetside 2. overarching map that completing challenges help your faction claim territory and theres specific matchmaking for terf wars. theres also last of us, where multiplayer matches help you gather supplies and materials for your base. theres things to juggle to keep your base in good shape and finding the balance provides lots of benefits like access to the weirder sidegrades, and cosmetic options to tell the whole map "hey, i take care of my babies."

I tuned into the stream late, at some point I checked back to see if I missed anything and landing right on the exact moment where the trailer played the MS3 "MARCO" activated my fight or flight. I'm very excited to see more of it. At this point I'm sold on the concept, all the sprite art work looks exactly how you'd want it (Minus the gore but it's not that big of a deal). The music is being done by the sonic mania guy who's exactly the person you'd want. I think a tactics game is a good fit for the metal slug art style/ characters, I'm mostly just curious what the actual game will be like at this point. Watched the trailer 20ish times so far, still feels fake to me.

Personally I like the idea of a "chao garden" for titan fall, but instead of just focusing on building titans, I think it should be like a home base that you can invite people to. People love having their virtual hang outs that they can invite their freinds to and use to show off their accomplishments.

Valorant seems like a cool concept, counterstrike but with more stuff to buy between rounds. I like a lot of the gun skins being zany but I really haven't looked too much at it yet. The anti-cheat turns me off from it for now, I'm expecting that stuff to become industry standard for online games at some point though. I'm also not big on the characters. The nature of the game requires all the characters adhere to a very similar silhouette and I think it's severely limiting what they can do with the designs.

Apex Legends obsessive here to talk about Respawns TitanFall plans. Respawn have been trying to get Titans into Apex Legends for a long time now, as well as the devs working super hard to get new game modes online for upcoming seasons. My best bet is at some point in the near future, Apex will get a Titan mode, likely with a unique Titan for each legend or a barebones mode that strips the legends of their powers replacing them with Titans and such. But heads up, EA is getting bought soon and that means someone is about to get in Respawns way.
