Man, I miss the feeling of being a lil' dude in a big world; it made killing raid bosses feel actually impactful because it was just 40 dipshits against a monster that seemed invincible at first, which made getting the first kill so much more rewarding. I miss the communities that grew around servers, actually playing with the same people and getting to know their names, characters; tell me about someone who played during TBC who doesn't remember seeing the rogue just standing in SW, flexing his hard earned warglaives of azzinoth. I don't want to be the big fucking deal chosen one fighting against all thats evil and wrong... I'd rather go on a quest to kill 10 boars, skin them , sell the leather to earn a few silvers to get myself a drink in a tavern and laugh with my friends about the role-players having virtual sex upstairs. Man I know those times won't come back, but those experiences meant so much to me that even after so many years I still miss *that* feeling from time to time. Much love to everyone who knows *that* feeling. We experienced something beautiful and unique.

I don't think that all the hate that Blizz has been receiving lately is because people hate or don't have fun playing wow. I mean that has some truth to it, but there are a lot of us who are just getting tired of Activision's bullshit seeping into every corner of Blizzard's games and slowly destroying them at the expense of players. It's becoming painfully obvious that passionate developers are no longer calling the shots and, as a matter of principle, many of us can no longer support their greedy decisions. We are just disappointed because of what is happening to something we love.
@HiddenEvilStudios6 жыл бұрын
I can second this. The tone-deafness of Blizzard and the inherent avarice of Activision forced me to give up on my favorite game after 13 1/2 years. Not sure if I'll even play Classic because I'd still be funding this disgusting business practice. The Blizzard I fell in love with as a pre-teen is gone and has been replaced by business suits and diversity hires instead of talented, passionate people. The gutting of Heroes of the Storm is made all the more saddening by the fact that THAT team clearly took pride in their labour and enjoyed their work. Goodbye, Kevin. I hope to see you outside the Nexus again.

More often then not we would call 911(112 in my country) and she would go to the hospital. WoW is the only MMORPG I ever got into and the only one I am still playing to this day. All the memories I have in this game, from starting out in late BC, to hitting level cap for the first time with my dad, to having my own account and making my first character in Wrath of the Litch King, all of these have made me love this game and accept it as my favorite of all time. In no game have I put the same amount of time as I have in World of Warcraft, and I played it for many years without playing something else, until around MoP. All those things make me sometimes say "Damn... I miss WoW. I wonder what it's like to hop back in" after not playing for a few months. Whatever happens, and however the future of the game turns out to be, even if the game would be to die tomorrow, I will forever be grateful for the experiences I had, and for the people I met. In 2007 I made my first character which was an undead rogue and fell in love with the undead area for some odd reason.. Later through the years I've gotten better at the game and it truly is an experience because my dad still plays and my mom left when Legion came out. Being able to play wow with the 2 as a family really brought us closer haha. So thats really how i got into wow nixxiom and other people that read this :)

I took me a while since I thought the game was only about questing back when I tried it for the first time. A mistake most people make I think. But the reason I love WoW today is because of how you can open up the game with no clear idea about what you are going to do, and then always find something fun to do. Whether it being trying out a new class, role playing, grinding for gear, trolling players, etc... The only point you don't have fun is the day you might get burned out from playing the game entirely because your taste in games changes.

I am a huge fan of Warcraft. And saying that everyone does it because it is a trend is not really fair. Because....though I seriously dislike the path has taken, like akamikeb said so many years ago "Throw some armor sprinkles on it" aka rehashing content has become the thing. I want the game to have depth, I want the game to have spirit. But the Depth of the game has gone down the shitter and the only thing that kinda holds up is the the story and graphics department. While i enjoy the RP fantasy my characters (like 7 of them) are on a realm that died during the terrible battle group system of last year. Having faced months of 50 vs 1 where everywhere you gone you would get slaughted... it killed nearly the entire server. And I refuse to dish out so much money to transfer my characters from a dead realm over a mistake i almost instantly reported to Act-Blizzard. I love this game as it was, but I am not blind to what they are doing.

I was so enchanted by the game as a kid, and my dad would allow me to make a few new characters and run around and just play how I wanted to. I think it was late Wrath when I really started to play, my dad made a deal with me that if I got to level 70 by the end of the summer that he'd buy me Wrath and I got so excited that I got addicted to leveling. I don't think it was until Cata that I actually started doing endgame content. I remember how I used to run around Auberdine on my night elf hunter and I loved that little town, so when Deathwing destroyed it, I felt I had to do something. To this day I still play, and I hate some of the things Blizzard has done, and that child-like exploration and Majesty has all but died for me, but it's still my home. I don't have the time for it like I used to, but it's still the game I love.

I am going to get that gear. And you know what? I did. I wanted to kill the big dragon and me and my friends killed it. Azeroth (for me) is a place i call home. Same, I've been loyal to WoW ever since I subscribed back in 08 and loved the game since then. However, with Blizzard's pitiful direction in the content I feel exhausted everytime I logged in. Sure, I got level my other toons but with what BFA offers at endgame isn't really enticing, WQs I love but it's not worth it, leveling alts just feels like a burden of having more than 6 kids, and simply logging in has become to feel emotionally draining. I only log on to claim rewards from missions. And with their decision in the BFA story making is very sad, and being a Horde player, I feel beaten up and spiteful that we are repeating plotlines in MoP. I actually find myself becoming radicalized and agreeing with every decision Sylvanas makes because of how Blizzard is pushing the faction; it's gotten SO bad that I found myself unironically saying "Garrosh did nothing wrong" or other similar statements, a huge contrast to how I saw Alliance-Horde conflicts when he was in charge, and I find myself hating Saurfang, a character I loved since I started playing. Eventually my disappointment got to the point where this week my subscription was expiring and in the first time in my life I said "I'm not renewing my subscription." I'm really hoping Blizzard finds a way to turn this around cause if not I see no point in even talking about it with friends.

A game, that is, while I have and always will play other games, is something I can always return to, to just chill out. Second, the RP. I'm just hooked on it way more then the actual game. WoW RP is the real way to play the game for me. I never RPed in any other game before this, and never played DnD, WHen I found out about this though, and learned more of it, I just completely and utterly fell in love without going back. It's just easily the best pass time I can ever have, without question. BUT, I of course play the actual WoW base game too, which is also very fun.

I remember when I started the game. Where are my Vanilla Priest at boi. I still have that Priest. I actually did meet my wife in WoW and this game holds an experience I don't think I could live without. I have 4 kids as a result of me just sitting at my PC and doing a AQ40 run. This game has a large narrative story that I'm actually, kinda happy that the player isn't really mentioned. The gameplay mentions us but the lore is centered around people like Jaina, Thrall, Anduin and Saurfang and friends, and we see their stories unfold and they feel very real in their hardships and struggles, which hits many emotional strings for me. When I play games like WoW, Witcher 3, Skyrim and such, I don't have to do content, hanging out is enough for me. That's my two cents in the hat, and thank you for yours Nixxiom, and keep up dat great content.

I loved playing with other folks from Vanilla to Cataclysm but WOD killed the multiplayer aspect and no-one wants to do groups anymore plus the game got Helluva expensive! They need to bring the sub price down and they need to do something about the gear being so expensive! Most people (like me) don't have the time to grind so playing the game all the way through just seems pointless now!

@@christianfreedom-seeker2025 I completely agree. Back in the older days teamspeak would be filled with people yelling and talking and laughing and in my guild, singing? Just get out before it officially goes under. Blizzard is basically showing that they are milking the remaining players dry by being happy to release substandard expansions, doing the bare minimum to maintain the game and shifting every interesting thing to the cash store instead of making it obtainable by actually playing the game. They are tanking WoW through bad decision making, they have tanked the sentiment to Diablo, D3 is left broken on life support, HotS has had the rug pulled out from under it and now they are looking to re sell the same content people bought and played through 13 years ago... They don't give a fuck about their players anymore. You are just a revenue stream for Activision and their shareholders. I know that it is hard proposition to leave when you have sunk so much time and money into your characters already but when they pull the plug on the game that all disappears anyway and by that point it will hurt even more because they will continue stringing their fanbase along for as long as they possibly can. Get out and find a new game to enjoy.

Hi Nixxiom, this is the first of your vids I have seen. I started playing last week, early January 2019. Everything you just said is why I decided to give WOW a go finely. That and some free time and a laptop that will run the game 😊 It is everything I hoped it would be and everything you just described. Suddenly I am transported back several decades to my teenage years playing D&D, and it amazing. That's the only real comparison I can make so far. But the fact the game can live up to table top fantasy nostalgic memories, is a massive testament to in my opinion. I look forward to watching many more of your vids, and hopefully learning a few things on the way. Thanks buddy.

I remembered the first time I created my first character, a Draenai hunter, I remembered when I created my first guild, I remembered the first time I was lvl 90 and I remembered the first time I discovered Stormwind ! It was amazing !! I made many friends, some of them are still here, some of them are lost or they just disappeared. Yeah, I lived great events, especially as a gm as I lived the death of the guilds that I had, drama and shitty stuff too. But it's part of the adventure of wow :). Finally a positive video. The negativity is killing me. I'm aware that there have been changes to the game, some don't like it, bla bla bla. Honestly? I don't care. I still have fun. I find Wow relaxing, almost soothing. Sometimes I'll create a new character and run around doing my favorite starter zones, because I miss them and they carry so many memories. Won't get further than lv 20 but I enjoy it. I'll play my main, doing raids, I love the warfronts as well because I love collecting transmogs, pets and mounts (when lucky). I love the seasonal events where everyone gets together to get the same achievments, it's usually festive and fun. I love catching battle pets, and I have favorited the cutest ones to summon on my journeys. Right now I enjoy archeology, it's just soothing, calming, nice steady progression. I have a job that can be very high intensity, stressful and emotional. Wow helps me calm down after a long day, gives me something relaxing to do and explore. The lore is great, the immersion is great, and I met my current boyfriend on Wow. 9 years and counting. Let the haters hate, but I love Wow!

It was one of the first videogame worlds I visited and it was one that made me feel like home. I fell in love with the setting. Not even the lore (which I started to enjoy later) - I hadn't understand or knew much of it by then. But when you're walking through Eversong Woods or Barrens or Westfall... It's just so alive. The characters you meet, the little settings. Secrets to find. Friendships and dramas with other players... Even small interactions in the world, like when you buff a random player somewhere and they give you a drop that they can't wear and you end up going through the whole location with them. I returned for BfA after not playing since TBC. And I love the game. I love it even more, because it feels like after not being home for years and I came back, it's still there. Slightly different, but it's home, after all this time. And to be honest, since I only remember how playing TBC felt - current WoW does have many good ideas, not everything's worse. So many QoL changes like using resources from your bank when crafting. Or like there is more story and cutscenes. Mobs rarely attack through walls or floors. There are so many flight paths, and interesting quests... Remember Silithus? Un'goro? Walking and walking and just grinding stupid crocolisks and raptors and stuff? I remember. (And that's how I changed to Alliance when returning for BfA. Zandalar's turned out to be a pleasant surprise, but man, when I saw that jungle and desert I was like NO) I love this fucking ridiculous game. It sucked in some ways before, it sucks in some ways now. But it's my favourite fictional world.

Even when im in my 30’s i want to keep playing and remember all this because it made me so happy, it was an escape for me honestly (i didnt have a good childhood, especially when i actually got into the internet and talking to people online) In WoW you can be an amazing person that people talk to and interact with, and you can make such good friends. Great video, Nixxiom! I really enjoyed it because I also love World of Warcraft. I joined in 2010 and, with a couple of exceptions due to vacations, family functions, etc., I have logged on almost daily. I don't pay much attention to opinion and play my own way, depending on my mood. I might be in the mood for dungeons or a raid. WoW makes it possible for little old ladies like me to do that without being in a hardcore guild. Sometimes I like to PVP (my favourite is Tol Barad) and sometimes I am a coward. I am ALWAYS up for adventuring and the vast variety of quests and zones ensure I always have something new (or forgotten so it is like new) to explore. I love the lore. I read every in-game book I come across. I think there's an achievement for that but I still haven't gotten it. Although I am wholeheartedly Horde, I love levelling new alts of both factions just to try out different races, unfamiliar classes, achieving achievements and exploring new zones. I loved DnD back in the day and hardly ever got a chance to play it (my age group is not conducive). When I am sad, I roleplay and WoW has gotten me through some very low moments in my life. And that's why I love your channel; you seem to appreciate the game for all these things as well, even though you're far above me in experience and ability. But you and people like you make me feel part of the WoW community. Even though I play alone (mostly) I never really FEEL alone in Azeroth. It is my second home and I actually cried when Vol'jin died. The key to enjoying World of Warcraft is to experience it for yourself and form your own opinions. Oh, and you must have slightly more focus than a fruit fly.

My parents played WoW while i was growing up. The most "family" event I remember was when Total Biscuit did a video on the Worgen starting zone (atleast i THINK it was him). We all grouped around one of the computers and sat there as a family, even one of my brothers who wasn't there a lot. I played football and didnt play games much at the time, only occasionally trying out WoW because of the fantasy aspect. Once Cata came out, thats when i truly *PLAYED* the game rather than mess around on it. I leveled a human warlock, with a name only a kid could come up with, Shadowimp. I quickly became addicted to games outside of pokemon, and not even only WoW. The implications of it are still being felt on me today, with my love of games that I only started recently playing such as the Dragon Age series. I got into D&D, and gaming in general because of WoW.

I think a distinction needs to be made between games and communities. If the main reason you love WoW is because of the players, then you can't attribute that to the game and say "therefore I love WoW" - because the game, the product Blizzard developed, and the people who log in and play it are two entirely separate things. A game can be bad and have a good community. A game can be good and have a horrible community. Such is actually the case with my favorite game of all time: Dota 2. I love Dota 2, but when I say that, I am not referring to the community. I am referring SOLELY to the game that Valve created. I actually DESPISE the types of players I come across when I log into Dota 2. During my years playing Dota 2 and even other genres, I haven't made a single friend from this community. What keeps me playing the game is the fact that I love the genre so much. It's competitive, there's no grinding NPCs or fetch quests, there's a crap ton of adrenaline and strategy that goes into each match, it's one of the only competitive games in existence that has never had a major problem with hackers ruining the experience, it's great. Loving a community and loving a game are not the same thing, and it sounds like the title of your video should've been "Why I Love World of Warcraft's Community" if that's your main reason for making videos and sticking around this long.

I still have fond memories of my family's first account, before it got locked. I completely missed all of Wrath's, Cata's and MoP's content, and while I am excited for Classic as I've never tried it before, I'm not nearly excited as I am for potential legacy servers for expansions. In my opinion, I will never forget WoW as my most favourite game of all time, admittedly things are going to shit, but it will forever inhabit my heart.

I was introduced to WOW at a really young age. I'm 17 rn. I think my first time I played wow was wrath, my parents say I even played during BC but I have no memory of it. I was mostly flying around in wrath and such. It was later that I started lvling characters for my parents and it was at the start of MOP that I finally got my account. WOW has been apart of my life for a long time and I don't think I'll ever stop.

The World of Warcraft most of us all grewed up and leanred to love, the gameplay and speaking with the community on your own server has gone years ago. Now we have a game where you can play a whole day without chatting to other players, a mix of diablo 3 grinding dungeons and a "go go go" mentality

I love WoW too...even though I am not actively playing right now or bought the new Xpac. Most if not all your points are spot on for me. I was almost a year late to the start of WoW, but man, that learning and exploring and struggling to hit level 60 was a blast. There are things that players coming to the game now will never know...the frustration of escorting that dang druid from Dark Shore to Ashenvale, that wonderful mini quest line of something like 1 shot 1 kill...saving that Night Elf emissary in Dark Shore from the Furbolgs...They'll never know the horror of the town crier announcing that Stitches is walking the road...I remember on my main, a druid in cat form, stealthed, more then 30 yards off the road and the sucker some how saw me and caught me before I could escape...or trying to dodge around Mor'Ladim in the cemetery. And so many other awesome things. Well once Classic comes out I guess they will... But for me, what I would love to see Blizz do, create servers based on each expansion...You create a new character, you level 1-60 in classic, then your character would get transferred to another "server" and go to Outlands for 61-70, but it be exactly like BC was before Lich King came out. Then you would be switched to another "server" and go to Northrend for 71-80 so on and so forth. I loved heirloom gear...but I hated CRZ or cross realms, worse freaking idea ever. In theory it wasn't a bad idea, but the problem is, they made all the hard quests that more or less forced you to either group with others doing that quest or getting a guild mate to come walk you through it so easy that you don't need help and to make it worse they give you 'pets' to help you, like while doing the Burroughs to get the relics of awakening. So now instead of grouping with people you go in and wholesale slaughter every single thing solo and so now you have to wait ridiculous respawn times to get the mobs to drop the items you need. That was one of the benefits before crz/cross realms. If you got tired of fighting everyone in the end game content you could jump down to a alt and work on it for a while, now you get 'fazed' into a virtual server with tons of people all doing the same quest area so you are constantly fighting for resources no matter where in the game you are and they claim that the thing will decrease the time on respawns if there are a lot of people in the area...never worked for me. I'm considering going back into play...but I just don't know.

I bonded over WoW with my uncle when I was younger and he has been a role model to me for most of my life. I also just fell in love with the world of Azeroth over the years even if I struggle to keep myself in I still love it.

This game is my childhood. Me and my friends used to come home and hop on the game. We never were serious players. We were just going out in the world and exploring. I remember how we used to play blood elves, and we didn't know how to change our hearthstone inn, so every time we hearthstoned, we needed to go to the Undercity and from there to Orgrimmar, because we were level 10. In fact, I even thought it one hell of an achievement that I got to lvl 25! Anyway, now those friends don't play WoW. I play it all by myself. As nostalgic as I am, I know that those times will never come back. We'll see with Classic though.

I will always love WoW! It’s my favorite video game of all time! I haven’t played the expansion yet because I need a new computer. Cannot wait! Great video, as always.

I stopped playing right after mist of pandaria, but no mmorpg I ever tried was as fun as Wow. I just started playing again the last couple months because I started watching your videos and streams. I love how many people you meet and play with, even though it's not as interactive as it was back in the day. I love how many different races and classes you can play, Pvp, pve, I just really enjoying playing!

I grew up with Warcraft. I played Warcraft 3 the Frozen Throne when I was 8. Hopped on WoW when it came out. Churned through "Lord of the Clans" and "Day of the Dragon" in a week in Spain when I was 10. And it's been part of my life ever since then; hell, I've even met the girl of my dreams through WoW now in my adult life. I've RP'ed, PvP'ed and Raided weekly through it all. It's just become a part of my life.

Man this video was really needed. I’m in love with the game and I’m happy many still are even if it’s rough right now.

I introduced my husband to the game, we now play it together(on and off like a couple of filthy casuals). Playing a couple of months nearly every day and then taking a few months break to spend time on other hobbies is what keeps the game fresh for us. When we come back and log in and see your characters and fly off into that open world, there's always that moment, "Oh yeah, that's why I love this game"

The music. The immersion. The world. The different cultures of the races of Azeroth. The people. The various ways to play. All of these combines into a living, breathing online world that you feel a part of. That's why I love WoW.

Travel can be reallyyy expensive and also hard to cram into a tight schedule. In WoW I'm mostly an explorer. Just walking and sightseeing with my druids (both H and A) is an incredible relaxing and also thrilling experience (yeah, I'm one of those that drag my low levels across Northrend and Draenor, without much dying). All those sights, creatures, background music and epic lore based on mythology and history is what feeds my soul ❤️

I remember the first time I saw This game, It blew me away. The immense world you could dive into, the story surounding it. I was 13 years old at that time. Vanilla wow was nearing its endgame, and BC was Just around the corner. Everybody I knew played this game, cousins, friends, you name it and the feeling I got from exploring that world together with those people, I dont think I can fully describe it. I Fell in love, countless of hours spend in This game, nearing the border of addiction. I met some of the most amazing people in This world, from Friends all over the world, to future lovers/girlfriends who lived a few kilometers away from me. But not everything was all good.. I wasted some important school years because of this, lost some real life friends I had who claimed they didn't knew me anymore. I even had a girlfriend who broke up with me because she felt like she was always ending up second place because of WoW.. I'm 26 years old now, haven't played the game in the last 2 years, didn't even bother to buy BfA, I have a lovely girlfriend and I'm in really in a good place overall right now. I Will admit that I still keep up with the news about the game, and watch video's like this from time to time, and maybe I do even miss it sometimes, but I will be trying to Stay on this path, because at the same time, I do not miss this game for a bit. This game made my life, and destroyed it at the same time.. I Think a lot of people can find themself in that statement. It's like a drug.

Even at it’s worst moments, i still enjoy and find something important and interesting to do in the game. We forget that is only a game made by people like us, of course is not going to be perfect! I was I try to the game by my oldest kids at a moment very difficult and challenging in my life... playing WoW has been my “lifesaver” and I have 10 years that I will never change at all, not even at the present time with BoA, even if I feel sometimes upset with the game... I will continue playing not matter how bad it can be... Thank you for your positive thoughts on your video!!!

NC says good luck in the UK. Fun fact, the Appalachian mountains here are also in the UK. (They where one mountain range during Pangea). So even if you left you can still see home.

I've been playing WoW with my mum since I was like 5 or 6 (am 18 now), grew up with it and it's the only game that has stuck this much with me. =)

Why i love World of Warcraft so much even to today is the Huge Lore and Charaters the game has to offer. When it comes to the Draenei, the Burning Legion, the Troll and there Loa, The void and the old gods, the Dragons and yes even the Gnome's all the lore it has to offer is just a blast to read up. Its why i still play the game and why i love Drawing things from the game.
