Sacrificing Arcadia Bay worked and made sense to me. Throughout the whole game it's like this Max & Chloe against the world and they can do anything together. So first playthrough I didn't really view the ending choice the way the game wants you to. I viewed from the perspective of what meant more to Max, Arcadia Bay or Chloe. And the answer was obvious to me. In terms of the events of this game negating Max's character arc is a common concern I've seen by others. I would dissagree with that to an extent, though that depends on the writing in the game. Max's story in this could be a Future Trunks type of story. Where she's knows whats happened in her timeline in final, Safi is dead. But she gets this new ability and suddenly has this opportunity where she can at least prevent a version of Safi from dying in another timeline. It could be a good way of showing how much Max has matured as a character by placing her in a similar situation that she handles completely differently. I Deck Nine is very aware they have to extremely careful with this. I don't think they would've brought Max back if they didn't genuinley want to tell a good story with her. Personally I'm really excited to see all the ways Max has changed over the years.

@@topy706 I’m not too familiar with the studio’s work outside of their LiS entries but considering I don’t really care for Before the Storm that much and absolutely adore True Colors, I could see this one going either way for me

"I don't wanna say it shouldn't exist, but, it probably shouldn't." That's about where I am too. I wish I could be more optimistic but I thought Before the Storm sucked shit and was the epitome of bad prequels, and True Colors was just mid. I did think TC was actually a huge step up from BtS, and was really excited to see what D9 would do next, like "hey, if they improve by that amount again next time, they'll have something great!" but to see them bring back Max for what seems like such an obvious cash grab... it's so disappointing. And explicitly against what Don't Nod wanted for the series! I want to be excited, I want to meet these new characters and play with this new power! I just wish I didn't have to be Max to do it... let her rest!

I don’t wanna play through it and feel like this story could’ve been told with an entirely new character. It must be meaningful! 🗣️ Please don’t let us down D9 lol

You’re probably a new fan of the series if you loved true colors. Tc wasn’t my all time favorite tho. Lis 1 is imo a masterpiece, 2 had potential but was underwhelming. You do have a great point that max shouldn’t be in this bcuz if it’s a reboot or remake of the original game then they’re probably going to tarnish it or her imo. This game could easily flop bcuz of 1 max doesn’t look remotely like max and she doesn’t look very traumatized cuz of Arcadia bay and 2 Chloe is likely going to be a “shadow character”, meaning she’ll be in it but only through texts or other dialogue. People, including me, who are big max and Chloe fans are going to dump all over this bcuz you have to have both main characters in the story and if that doesn’t happen then it’ll suck. Pricefield fans are prolly gonna lose their minds if Chloe’s not in it or better yet riot. I will too tbh. So we’ll see what happens but I have zero confidence or excitement that this will try to succeed lis 1. You may actually enjoy double exposure a lot which is fine but a lot of Chloe fans possibly won’t imo.

I wouldn’t consider myself a “new” fan, I just look at each LiS game for what it is which I feel helps me enjoy entries like 2 and True Colors more than most other people. I think all the games have great stories but I personally believe that True Colors has the best STORYTELLING. But everyone gets something different out of their experiences with these games which is awesome

@@TheGamingCritiQ you are right, true colors had a good plot but it felt a bit predictable imo. Lis 1 had infinitely better storytelling but yeah everyone gets a different experience out the series. The reason why I’d say you would be a new fan is bcuz true colors is more of a reboot to the series since lis 2 was sort of the end of game. D9 decided to do their own version of lis and imo it was ok (I joined lis back when captain spirit released and then watched some of 2 but then I got bored lol). Lis 1 is more for the original hardcore fans of the series, the game had 2 main protagonists but a lot of people hate Chloe bcuz of the way she treats max. I didn’t really like 2 bcuz max and Chloe weren’t in it but also the pacing was trash. But yes if you think true colors was great then more power to you but lis 1 had almost a perfect story to it. But imo double exposure is not gonna represent lis like the other 2 did, mostly bcuz they were themed around coming of age and true colors was not that. But anyways you have a good one man
