the biggest game changer for me was taking social media off my phone and keeping books around more. If I feel the need to grab my phone, I grab the book. If I wake up and cant get back to sleep, grab the book and don't doomscroll. Huge mental health game changer and helps with feeling less scattered and overstimulated since books push you to have a longer form attention span. Cheers BBK hope you're doing well!

The last bit of social media I engage with is KZbin. I still parooze the comment section, but I try not to get caught up in stupid arguments. The identity politics and DEI/woke war was the final straw for me. No one comes to social media for information or to change their mind, so it’s a pointless argument imo. I hope my mental health picks up by just avoiding social media all together. And I always wish I read more. Just finished a great book, Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman. It’s a dark fantasy set in medieval Europe with religious themes and I highly recommend it

I have you to thank for kickstarting my focus and intentionality for my gaming during that time. Thank you. Blessed to be here, have the best 2025 filled with good fortune and health. :-)

You changed how I look at games and how I currently play them. I love tactical realistic shooters, but as of late, they lack polishing, lore and performance. Your videos helped me to revisit the kid that loved PS2 and played everything. I made a schedule of what I'm going to play each month. 1 main AAA game and 1 indie 2D game or something similar to it. I've been playing Armoured Core 6, Cyberpunk 2077, Dragons Dogma 2, Ghost of Tsushima. But this year I'm focusing on 2 games per month (if I can help it). Keep making the videos you're making. You might be speaking about video games, but a lot of us play video games to manage life stress, and you've personally been a big help to me lately. God bless you brother.

I'm 52 and over the past year or two I've finally realized how much my reaction to stress is really where the problems are from. I have tried to engage my "pause button" as much as I can. Idk much about this, but I can tell you 100% it only helps to have that small space between a stresser and my reaction to that stresser. Nothing bad comes from taking a moment to reflect and think before reacting. Man, it's hard when tensions rise but it is kinda my life goal right now, along with trying my best to use empathy wherever and whenever possible. Best of luck to you buddy!

I 'decluttered' my steam list by making a few categories based on How Long to Beat and some more like single player games I still want to play, arcade/MP games I still want to play and leave the rest as uncategorized. it helps me not get analysis paralysis when looking at my own steam library lol

I love new year resolutions! Its always good to create some sort of REASON why you need to change habits. During the year you could do it any day so it doesn't actually happen. I love latching on to the idea that this is the time where you can lock in.

I just saw your video "the best moments happen offline" and I really loved it. I really like your video style, very entertaining just listening to your voice feels really good and just seems very authentic! You really inspire me to also produce some videos! :D I build a new PC in 2024 and changed a lot of my setup only the graphics card is left but I'll see which one I get. One thing I realized is that I really forgot how good single player games are and just how chill it is to lean back and dive into a game. But even though it is very fun I wanna get into something that allows me to meet some more people in 2025! I thought a bout joining a course of some sort. I hope you will be consistent again with working out and your mountainbiking!

Had a kid end of last year so getting time has not been as easy but still managed to play some banging titles and finally give up my live service addiction to Destiny 2. This year I’m aiming to explore some of everyone’s recent top picks on PS5/4 and consider getting a steam deck in a few months for emulation and pc gaming options.

This was such a chill and relatable video. I had a work injury last year that’s left my left wrist permanently altered with less range of motion and strength, and I also struggled this last year. Like you, I really want to get back into shape this year, declutter, and for myself I’d like to get better at guitar to hopefully free up my hand. Cheers to the new year man! I hope both can come out the other side for the better.

Great video. Honestly thought I was listening to myself talk about what I want to work on this year. I too am very chill until something super stressful happens and then it’s basically a coin flip if I’m going to buck up and handle it like a champ or if I’m going to flip out and spiral. Definitely something I am going to be intentional about this year

Nearly the same goals here. Add on quitting alcohol for at least this month, probably longer (which will help the physical goals) and not buying any games or comics for myself this year. My backlog of both is outrageous (and I added more games during the winter steam sale), but I'm not going to stress about getting through them as fast as possible. Here's to a low stress year!

I tend to keep a rotation of around 3 games at a time so that I don't ever feel the need to force myself to play a game when I want to game but maybe are not up for that style of game that particular day. I also usually keep a fairly small backlog of less than 20 games at a time and try to avoid impulse purchasing every game on sale. As it is, I have enough games to last all of 2025 and have plenty of games from the last decade to catch up on. As for stuff I'm looking at next year: Exodus, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Crimson Desert, The Midnight Walk, Ghost of Yotei, Skate Story, MGS Delta Snake Eater, Eternal Strands

At first i was like "oh, i might not have the time to use it, i might not like it as much, i already have a great PC and use it regularly, do i really want that headset?" But i still got it... And the second i put it on and saw the virtual world... i knew i made the right decision getting one. Not questioning myself why i got it, but being granted because i did!

Hey, Man - Happy New Year 2025! I’ve been watching you for a short time (two months maybe), but already you’ve helped me manage my backlog in a new and more efficient way. My MO is to play 3 different games (genres) at a time and enjoy every moment of it without FOMO or pressure from the backlog. Thanks to this I’ve managed to get back to the games I loved but abandoned years ago due to craving for more and more games, more sales opportunities, etc. Now I’m in the process of decluttering my games list, movies and also my personal space. I meditate a lot and I really recommend doing this to everyone - changed my life completely with this self-awareness the meditation applied to my life. It changed everything, my anxiety, my fears, my reactions and from what you’re saying it o could help you as well. Small steps lead to great results and I keep my fingers crossed for you, good man. All the best for you all, people! Peace and love :)

Main focus for me this year is getting fitter. Always been into the gym-weights. But never really thought about cardio side of things, mainly because I don't enjoy it. But this year I'm going back to an old hobby in swimming & having some consistency with it. Day 4 of this year and it's going well. Gaming I'm hoping to let take a back seat. Will definitely still be playing. But I want to be a little more productive with my time rather than aimlessly playing. :)

It’s actually crazy how similar your resolutions are to mine, personal and with games. I used to write down what games I wanted to play in which month and complete that throughout the year. I realized I should just play what I want when I want and not feel obligated. I’m near the end of the horror game Faith, and after that I’m going to leave things completely wide open. The only games I can see myself “locked to” upon release are Pokémon ZA and Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. Also, what you said about decluttering is 100% true. I’m bad at getting rid of stuff, and at least made space for everything and boxed things into organized storage in 2024. But now I want to get rid of what I don’t really want, it’s not helping me mentally or financially and I think it will benefit me (and others who receive it)

I followed your advice of focusing on one game at a time recently. I've enjoyed it, but found that occasionally I just really felt like something different. I think having a single primary game is still a good idea, but I now have one or two "secondary" games to switch to temporarily if I'm feeling like a change of pace.

I only struggle with playing games that I have a strong suspicion I may not like. Right now I've got Yugioh: Fobidden Memories, Megaman Legends II and The Legend of Dragoon in my rotation. They're all different types of games, with different levels of required focus. I therefore switch between them in accordance with how invested I can be, or of course, what mood I'm in. The key here is that they're all games I already know I like, so rather than agonizing about when and if to play, I can just check my mood and fire up whichever I want.

I relate to you on the part where you said about being strict on playing one game only till finishing it. It was kinda tiring and I did a little self reflection on that and realized that when I was younger I enjoyed playing multiple games than just playing only one at a time. So that's what I'm going to do this year. I won't limit myself to just one game at a time so I can really enjoy gaming as a whole again

Control of the mind and your reactions - a) anticipate those situations so you're ready! b) it's all about catching yourself as the reaction begins and before it has manifested... c) perhaps you don't react that way when you're in certain situations, like at work, or in front of the boss, if you have one: maybe you can channel that mindset a bit and be professional in danger situations; d) something that promotes spiritual growth or psychological change, like prayer if you're a believer, or meditation otherwise, may assist with dis-identifying with yourself (ego).

Just a tip from your ole pal Poop. Getting into shape without a disciplined diet and physical goals (weight and strength levels) can be somewhat useless (exaggerating). You get sooooo much more out of working out if you have a diet that caters to what you are getting out of your workout. If you are lifting weights and not eating enough food it’s just going to make you more sluggish and fatigued whereas if you are properly fueling your body, it will be more uplifting and energizing on a day to day basis. Happy new year!

In August I had to sell my launch PS5 due to finances. Then my wife surprised me with a new slim for an early Christmas gift. I saw that as a new fresh start. Started a new PSN and I’ve bought my first five games. Most of them were Christmas gifts from family. I think going forward I will only play a few games at a time before impulse buying a bunch of games in a sale. I’ve also been trophy hunting again to really get the value out of my games. Also my spreadsheet I made is a godsend. This hard reset on gaming was really what I needed. Can’t wait to see what all adventures I get to experience in 2025!

It's an arcade drifter that has you racing/drifting through parking garages across different cities in the US. It has that 5th gen console/Sega Saturn look to it which I love. But I played a lot of great games like Assassin's Creed Origins, It Takes Two, Spiderman Miles Morales, The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, and more. About juggling multiple games; I’ve been trying to stick with a game when I am having fun with it, rather than starting a new one and having that new-ness dopamine make me fall off from the other game I was enjoying. Just asking myself: was I having fun with that game? If so let’s play it. Even if I may not feel like it in the moment, I find myself getting back into a game really easily. Keeping track of how many hours a game is, how many I’ve played and how many are left also seems to help finish games. I got “games I’m playing, games I want to play, maybe games and games I finished” on it as categories. Trying to be real with myself and adding games I stopped playing to the list, so that maybe I figure out why I stop playing some games and continue others! Been loving mass effect, just started the 3rd one. Picking up an Rog Ally X to play legacy of kain and the thing remastered at my gf’s place where I spent most of my time. Gaming is starting to feel like a doable, realistic hobby between other things in my life, rather than this distraction and that’s neat.

A week or two away from basically everything not IRL really pushes my reset button every time and I come back in a much better mindset than when I leave. Whenever I do this I really don't go online at all and I just forget about gaming entirely. Last year (not long ago) i decided to hit the backlog and focused on ps3 and i knocked out a lot most games 6 hours if not a completionist. Some games like nier and ni no kuni consumed 80 hours a piece. Backlogs are great.... You find gems and finally get your money worth

Welcome back, dragoon! Missed this big time. I used some of my free time this vacation to finish ghost of Tsushima, battlefield 1 and metal gear solid. Loved all 3 of them. Not sure if they’re up your alley but I’d love to see them here all the same. I would like to see more mountain biking clips. It’s just really satisfying and relaxing, lol. Glad you love the ps5! I’d stress ghost of Tsushima: director’s cut again as an amazing pickup.

Yo those are three amazing games. MGS1 is top 20 games for me of all time, have you played 2 and 3? Delta this year is going to be great I think. Also I played about 10 hours of Tsushima on PS4 and loved it, if I get the chance I want to finish it on PS5. And BF1 hype! Still one of the greatest FPS games ever made. Cheers and thank you! Yes more MTB clips incoming, I appreciate that

I personally balance my games with 1 or 2 multiplayer games, 2 story rich/rpg/open world games, 2 Indie/Arcade games. I play all this on my PC and Switch, I don't see the reason to get a PS5 considering seeing exclusives not really being a thing anymore

Great goals, man! I worked at a therapeutic boarding school, and we always said "messy room, messy brain". We could all use a bit of decluttering. Hell yeah more exercise! Have you tried out rock climbing? It's such an amazing sport, and feels like playing a videogame in a lot of ways. :) As for not spiraling and overreacting, that one's tough. There are a LOT of different tools out there, but I can't think of any off the top of my head, aside from just changing perspective on things.. but that usually still takes tools to get outside the spiral. Best of luck out there! :D

Hey mate! Physiotherapist here - long time viewer, first time poster. Regarding your comment of returning to sports: I totally agree, with what you are suggesting. The guidelines today in "return to sports" are to keep the overall plan for the training regime conservative. If you want 5 trainings x per week. Start aiming for 3 and build from there. Mentally, we see a big difference if you hit 3 training sessions per week. --> But in one scenario, you also aimed for 3 sessions per week (awesome! Feeling you achieved your goal!) --> The other you aimed for 5 (Sucks! Feeling like otter failure) But in booth scenarios, you trained 3 times that week🤷‍♂️ Every training counts. 1 training in 7 days can keep alot of your current gains for up to 35+ weeks! Anyways; Hakuna Matata. And keep on keeping on!🎉😎💪👌

i am so excited for 2025 too as i am basically in a blank slate, had a break-up with a girl recently and I couldn’t ask for more peace. hmm for games i am basically aiming on finishing one or two per month on my PS4 and X360 (i am taking time so i can savor it and yes i am a college student) and also try other games that are not my unsual style eg; stardew valley, little nightmares, ratchet and clank while sitting aside a little my phone and social media for more better clarity and peace losing weight is also a dream of mine and I can finally do it Then also focus on my hobbies especially filmmaking, making art and cooking. and regulating my emotions especially in difficult situations though i am pretty much slightly good of it recently there are just times i would overreact and not think of what to say and procrastination especially school works haha i am aiming on finishing one by one slowly That’s pretty much it for this 2025 plans, i am happy that i am no longer burdened by someone and can focus developing myself.

I've removed distraction and not playing anything until I can fix my career stuff so that's my 2025, I hope I get to enjoy games once again soon hehe, and thanks to you I've been and will be more intentional with my games, and I do play multiple ones at a time hehe 1 chill game (which you can play for 5 mins, like farm frenzy or something), 1 Indie (Strategy or Metroid Vania) and 1 big title (possibly open world) All on hold for now tho, have a great 2025 man, discovered your channel late 2024, never left, it's really good stuff you got here

Having a Backlog i have simple Rules if i dont feel satisfied playing that after One Hour it gets dropped simply so that i get immersed without distraction and give it a fair chance. To get through the Choice struggle i simply put them into a Collection next to play so its not the entire Backlog destroying me haha. The Steam Deck really helps with that a lot for this 3 Months at least gonna be buying no Games to actually getting to pay them rather than collecting them.

For me I'm just gonna stop obsessing over finishing games even if I've lost interest. I used to take pride in at least finishing the games I bought but when that becomes the priority over simply having fun then what's the point? I used to be similar in that I could only play one game at a time but now I'm playing 2 or 3 at the same time which is what I did when I was a kid. I'm also off social media for 2025.

Just wanna be selective about my games this year, buy with intent. Really looking forward to DOOM: The Dark Ages and I’m hoping Starfield will get a release on PS5 this year. Currently playing through Skyrim for my first time and what a game! But after that I really need som sci-fi and Starfield could really be it, if it lands on PlayStation.

So, changing how to react to situations and people can be challenging BUT Even the most challenging games, like Dark Souls right? - if you understand how it works, and practice a bit - you master that shit Whenever we have those thought loops, and whenever we stress, the brain it's just doing it's job. Protecting us by making us aware by potential danger. In the old ages we used to have to be stressed if the presence of a tiger was probable, right? So we don't die. That's the awareness that kept us alive and wary of danger. And even now the brain works the same. Our job is to be aware about what we can control and what we can't. This can be tricky, as we usually work in a certain way and it's normal for ourselves to function like this. We identify as being how we were until now. But just as you said, small consistent steps take you a long way, If we have the intention to be aware of how we act, and understand it. Also understand that the brain it's just doing it's job, making us aware And that we can choose what we think (it's a choice wether we stay with the thoughts or not) Then we can change from a stressed person to a person who isn't, or at least, not as much. You feel the thoughts, but let them go, realizing that you do whatever you can (internal locus of control), and you leave whatever variables are not in your power to control (external locus of control) juse be, if you can't do anything about it - right? Like in Dark Souls. Do you have any power other than what you do? And yet, as you play, nothing changes, aside from you. You just become better at parrying and attacking - and you master that shit. Same is in life, i believe. And i found it to be hard to change. Because this is my identity! That's what my brain believes! But just think back on a thing that you used to do one way And now you do it differently. It's gonna point out, and you'll remember again that we are not our thoughts, or our behaviours. Even this stressful behavior, can be changed, just like we change the way we play games - by being intentional about it and doing things as we intent... a step at a time. Sometimes we'll fail. We'll die in Dark Souls or we'll get stressed. Then we just have to keep getting back up and do it again. You'll master Dark Souls if you keep getting up with the intention to do it right? You'll be how you want to be if you keep getting back up and intend to act how you want to be, taking another step. You're practicing who you want to be as you do so DAMN
