Sometimes we outgrow certain plants (or vice versa 😜) and it's just time to gift them to or sell them to someone else. I won't be selling any of these plants because they aren't worthy of selling tbh lol. Some may get angry with me which is fine. But this is the reality of owning a massive houseplant collection. About once a year I go through and say my goodbyes to the plants that just aren't bringing me the joy they once did (or maybe never did lol). Join me while I explain WHY each of these plants gotta go 👋🏼

I can totally relate! I recently went from 150 to 115 plants after i got rid of everything that i wasn’t absolutely in love with. Feels like such a weight was lifted and now i can walk around semi-excited to do plant chores rather than stressing out 😊

Agree with all the plants you selected. I have had them all and they were definitely a struggle. I first put them all outside to see if there is a difference. I have even put two or three philodendrons together in a pot outside. Sometimes they do better but most of the time, I’ve had to toss after maybe five or six months. I didn’t think twice because I have so many other plants that grow beautifully and make me happy!

I got rid of two batches of plants that don’t bring me joy and it felt awesome. 😊sold them, so it was also a good feeling they went to good homes.

I get it Sam!!! I have done the same in the past. They were becoming too much to handle for me. I now have a nice portion that I am able to keep up with. As for the Peru it keeps growing a runner and other vines have smaller leaves. Let's see how I feel by the end of this year. 😋

Oh don’t give up Sam on the Patricia! I’d put it in water and let it get a bigger root system. My leaves are a ft an half long. You can do it!! 🥳🥳💚🫶🏼

Sherry that's the one that I actually decided to keep 🥲 You're right. I wanted it for so long I can't give up now. I will try the water !! What could it hurt? That very well could be the issue ! Thanks lady 🤗

i rlly feel you with philodendron. I always like them as a cutting, cause the leafs are so pretty and then they grow and i cant keep the moss poles long enough and i start falling out of love its so sad😩

Ahh my favorite genus is the Philodendron and yes they represent the most satisfying projects when they are compatible for you and your environment. And then there is the abject misery of trying to rescue and re-rescue a plant that will not be on the same picture or page with your efforts. So many plants and too little time to waste on those plants not meant for what we can provide.

I have the verde and it’s been on a mat since last fall and no variegated leaves so it needs outside heat on the new growth

I hate mine paraiso verde as well. It's just a pain in a**. Heat mat does not work for me. I'm over philos over all. Thx for a great video 🥰

Climbers require a lot of maintenance you’d be better off growing trees like Ficus banyans. They are way more tolerant of low humidity. But with high humidity you can get aerial roots. Or some sympodial orchid species and hybrids. More tolerant of draught . So many plant people on social media seem to be into aroids and Hoyas these days. It is pretty easy to grow banyans from seed

If I were you. I might move the patriciae into soil. It would definitely get the nutrients it deserves. Sphagnum moss can go a little acidic for a week. I hope this helps. You said something about the humidity and humidity and wondering if it’s too wet

Thank you! I decided to keep her and I am going to try the soil I think. We will see! I'm determined now to get it happy so wish me luck 🤞🏼I do fertilize in moss BUT I know it isn't the same and the plant needs soil nutrients so that could very well be the issue. It definitely isn't too wet in the medium because it's ALWAYS dry lol but i definitely did notice the plant hated the higher humidity in my ikea cabinet! It made all the leaves turn blown and mushy almost. Thanks for the tips 💚

@@sassysucculent6291 no problem happy to help and good luck! I’ve definitely had the issue of plants staying too dry. Moss is notorious for that but I try to add perlite to air it up more if it’s staying too wet. I hope it picks back up and puts out massive leaves! I hope your amydrium silver does the same. I love that plant💚
