Some excellent work there Mike, I need to get a film developed and get out more with film, may take the EOS 300 out today but I do like the feel of my Pentax Cameras, got the KM and the K1000. Wouldn’t mind that camera you’ve got though

Fun video. I purchased my first AE-1 back in 1983. I started with a Brownie back in the 50's. I still have the photos and negatives from all the days since. I've lost almost all the digital pictures I've taken over the last couple decades.

Highly recommend the Olympus OM-1 or OM-2 systems if anybody is looking to get into shooting on 35mm. Also, has the shutter speed on the lens mount so you never have to take your eye away to adjust settings. At a sub $250 mark, they will stand toe to toe with nearly any 35mm SLR. Lenses that rival Leica, body durability that rivals Hasselbad, and a viewfinder that stands alone as one of the best, both new and old. Not many are onto it yet (luckily) but that window is closing as people are realizing they just simply are better than nearly any SLR within 20 years of its production, and NONE match it at the same price! It's always the shooter more than the camera, but my OM2 pictures rival the ones from my brand new Sony mirrorless.

Love it! I've been shooting film again this last year, after about 18 years break from it. There is definitely a different experience shooting film that I find refreshing. In our crazy digital world, it's nice to slow down and work with analog devices once in a while. I'll still shoot digital photography, but I'm having much more fun with film right now.

Digital ' photography ' is exactly what it is, a virtual reconstruction of the world around us by the microcomputer inside the camera and the subsequent use of software to give the Data captured by the camera, shape, form and colour that our brains expect. It has its roots in military and scientific use of sensors to collect data that used to be recorded on film by chemical reactions and process. It is cold and soulless and it has been dumbed down to appeal to the masses. I don't mean any disrespect BtW, it is just how it is. To use film effciently, a certain level of understanding of the science of optics, chemicals, and mechanics of a film camera is required. Most of the younger generation of digital photographers, sadly lack any undersanding of the process. I admire those who are returning to film for the right reasons, and not using it as a badge of ' credibility ' in a world where the definintion of the caliber of a photographer is defined by what kind of iPhone or how expensive a digital camera they can afford to buy. Good on you for trying film, and learning the basics of photography.

This is awesome and I especially respect and relate to your explanation. I shoot digital as well but shooting film is such a different experience. I started my return to film with a Nikon F100. I love it, however, just like you, I desired a more basic analogue experience and that desire has sent me deeper info film photography with full mechanical cameras. I'm still trying new (to me) films and enjoying the ups and downs of the experience. You mentioned trying CineStill film in this video. I've yet to try any CineStill colour film, but I highly recommend trying some BWXX from them. This was great and I'm looking forward to following your experience with film.

Great video want to go back to London so bad. When I was there I don’t have any cameras 🤦🏽♀️ so don’t have any good photos from my short study abroad sadly. Wish I could move to England.

I have used film since i was 8 thats 50 years or more. And still use film. Its a good medium for photography. My first xamera was out of a corn flake packet. Totally manual you neede to know how to shoot the scene. Had several others of a simular nature over the years. From zenth to canon some cameras dont exist thesedays. I have one digital camera that works a fujifilm finepix s6500 fd. Its not bad for travel. But you cant change the lenses and dont have a hot shoe which can be a bind. The rest i use canon i have two about 30 years old 50e and 10s canon s with a selection of prime and zoom lenses. Film gives you time to compose a shot unlike digital thats like a machinegun camera.
