I used to live in Australia, they have a tax free income of $8,000, and a minimum pay of AUD $21 ($19 CAD). Employers are required to pay for employee’s pension (10% of their income on paid by the company). And if you buy stuff before you go abroad you can get a tax refund in the airport.

8k that very bad, in Canada you have to make at least 60k to pax tax , anything below 60k annually no tax, even if you pay they will return it back

I don't think I'll stay in the states for the rest of my life but probably a good number of years. Eventually I think I'll come back to Canada, mainly for family

Canada is even more liberal and socialist than California. Taxes are even higher and you reach the highest bracket much sooner. At least California has very high salaries to compensate for all that; Canada does not. Trudeau makes Newsom look sane.

She would need to get her own TN visa. The visa she would get is the TD visa which doesn't allow her to work for a US company. She can still work remotely for a Canadian company though if the opportunity arose

The H1B only allows your spouse to work if your current employer petitions you for a green card (files a I-140). Not when you are ordinarily residing in the USA on a H1B status. Anyways, welcome to the United States.
