I prefer to say I'm a "content creator" I enjoy making videos and shooting photos for both KZbin and other platforms as well. I'm definitely not a filmmaker, and because I'm still new at this it feels weird to call myself a "KZbinr". One day I'll get there, but for now, regardless of what you anyone calls themself, the most important thing is knowing your audience and being true to that!

I feel the same way as I’m slowly trying to figure out my place in the world. I want to be a filmmaker but doing the freelance gigs and working at a shop has my ambition to be a KZbinr taking first place on my list. I’m just starting out and my subs will have to go up cause I’m no where so far. It’s gonna take a lot more work to get where I want to be. I’m still finding myself and my place in this KZbin world. Dude, this is awesome. I love this man. I’ve been making vids since 2015 and as of the last year, I decided to go full time with client work. About 4 months ago, I decided to make my own content - mostly short form on Instagram. It’s made me realize that I do not like being a ‘filmmaker’, but I love being a ‘creator’. Making vids about what I want to make vids about (tech, camera tips, teaching) and making it look as beautiful and “cinematic” in the process. I resonate with you super hard on this one. Hi Peter, I also love creating stuff like you. I love editing, creating thumbnails, creating a community from all over the world and I'm thinking about opening a YT channel. I'm so self-conscious tho about it. The fact to be exposed to the public, the idea that your family may watch your channel it's lil bit scary. You show such a talent for creation, and I'm like you but I don't have skills yet. I know I can learn and improve but I don't kinda see myself behind the camera. About two years ago I posted a comment on Danny Gevirtz’s channel that he replied to. I said Matti and Peter McKinnon are excellent KZbinrs but Danny is a real filmmaker on this platform. And I could tell it the day I watched his first couple of KZbin videos. So many popular KZbinrs today are confused. Just because they have a great following because of their presentation and making ‘cool videos’ on YT, it won’t make them filmmakers. If that was the case, Peter McKinnon’s documentary would have been out by now. I know it will someday though with the help of other filmmakers. McKinnon is one of the best performers on KZbin and I absolutely adore him but sadly he isn’t a filmmaker. People can do whatever they want to but artists are born, they ain’t made. Dude not going to lie, about a year ago which you mentioned where you went into the realm of high end gear and stuff, I stopped watching you because honestly I was so burnt out by KZbinrs constantly pushing gear and making me feel like no matter how much I spent or obtained I would never reach that point. But I'm glade to see you dialed it back to before and I will pay a little more attention to your channel because honestly, there aren't a ton of channels out there that are just one big gear push instead of focusing on content creation.
