Why would anybody buy a Used Porsche without getting it Certified and with a warranty? You should’ve bought a Cheap LeXus with that money. A used LeXus would expect Cheap stuff to break on those Plastic LeXus vehicles. Get a Certified Porsche!
@cadreamdrives2 жыл бұрын
@@idcnetwerk9265 I think the choice to buy certified or not is a very individual one. With a Porsche, I would actually be inclined to NOT buy certified - only because, in my experience, the later generations all have been close to bulletproof in their reliability, so paying extra for the additional warranty doesn't seem to be needed. As far as the Recall goes - that applies to all cars - certified or not - so a Certified car wouldn't have made a difference in this case.

Well, the pressure sensor in the seat base is malfunctioning. Making the vehicle think it's empty. But thankfully "if" Aunt Edna is mindful enough to fasten her safety-belt, it will automatically know to deploy the airbags by default in the event of a collision. Therefore it's not a life threatening problem, assuming everyone is wearing their seatbelt. But if they aren't, then they will most likely only have to experience a collision once to get them in the habit of wearing it from then on. The entire automotive industry has been suffering setbacks in their ability to build new vehicles for customers around the world. So obviously the new sensors that have been updated are going to go straight to the vehicles people have ordered as they are in the production line. They would be unable to open the factory and pay all the employees if all the new sensors were going out to vehicles already past their warranty period. The pandemic has been the main contributing factor to such delays the world over. Once the suppliers are able to get the part issue ironed out and produce enough of the new replacements, then they'll start addressing the units belonging to customers on a first come first serve basis. That's gonna depend on how backed up each dealership is, and how far out that they're able to book new service appointment. Plus the shortage of loaner vehicles and rentals right now is making the waits even longer. Give old Aunt Edna my love, and remember...... "Don't Be a Dummy!" Always wear your seatbelt, no matter what vehicle you're in. 😆 😂
@cadreamdrives3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, and for your thoughtful and detailed comment. I really appreciate it! The effects of the pandemic is a very valid point - and I'm sure there is some of that going on. However, since Porsche previously has recalled earlier Macans for the exact same thing, I think it's reasonable to expect that they should have prepared better for this one. Additionally, it is extremely unsatisfying to be told by everyone at Porsche "We hope the parts will be here in 2 weeks, but we don't know". At this point, that has been the mantra for nearly 6 months. Just give people a date - or tell everyone that parts won't be available until a specific date in the future. I don't think that's too much to ask... Oh - and Aunt Edna says thank you and hi back 🙂

@@cadreamdrives What about the microchip debacle that has the entire Kentucky Speedway being used as a storage facility for tens of thousands of Ford vehicles that people ordered a year ago, but haven't been able to take delivery of? There is a massive global supply chain problem going on. You are off base trying to blame Porsche for not being able to get all the parts it needs right now. If you sell it, you won’t have much of a selection out there.
@cadreamdrives3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for you comment. I always appreciate others sharing their opinions and perspectives! While I agree (and understand) about the Supply Chain issue, that's not what I'm taking issue with. My problem is that Porsche is unable to give any kind of ETA. I've contacted them through several different channels, and I get a different answer every time. I understand that parts can be affected by the supply issue, but then just say that. There has been ZERO official communications from Porsche on when a remedy might be available. In my case, knowing that a fix won't be available for x amount of months (or years) is valuable information. In addition to that, Porsche has had a recall open for years for the very same part for earlier Macans. That means they have been producing cars with a known defective part for years, with their customers now suffering the results of that poor decision. I love Porsche and their cars (this is my 7th Porsche), but that doesn't mean they are perfect, and in this case, it's my opinion that they are very far from that. The car markets are definitely tight right now, but there are ALWAYS good deals to be found. I purchased this car at the height of the current car "shortage", and I'm sure I'll be able to find a suitable replacement. As things stand right now, it's a $45k paperweight that costs me insurance and registration every month, and depreciates as time goes by as well.

IMO, this is ridiculous. There lots of litigation involved with a recall and holding the manufacturer (who produced the seat pods as Porsche doesnt make them) accountable. Furthermore, do you realize there were close to 40,000 cars affected by that campaign. Do you realize how long it would take to produce that many? A long time. Also, if you didnt have faults present for the occupancy sensor, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car. When they fail, the airbag light comes on and deactivates the passenger bag if the seat belt isnt buckled. You missed out on a decent macan.

My local dealer said they were able to order the parts on the 21st of October, but couldn't give me an ETA of when they were arriving, or where they were even shipping from (Germany or NA Distribution center). Right now freights from Germany are 5-6 weeks so I am assuming it will be here end of Nov. Have you heard anything from your local dealer about time frames or parts availability?
@cadreamdrives3 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry to hear that. For most people, the recall doesn't make a difference, but for you it's obviously a different story! Did you buy the car from new and / or is it still under warranty? If so, the dealer should supply you with a loaner until your car can be repaired. I was not able to get even a hint of a firm ETA for when the parts might be available - neither my Porsche dealer nor Porsche of North America had any idea. After asking for an ETA for several months, I eventually sold the car. I do know that they'll be prioritizing cars that actually have have the warning light on, but when they'll actually be able to fix it is anyone's guess. I was told anything from next month to six months from now to eventually the middle of next year - which is exactly why I sold the car. I'm sorry I can't offer you better info. I am out of warranty by 6 weeks and Porsche turns their back on problem and sticks me for $3,200 repair. Don't buy a Porsche w/o extended warranty for entire length of time you expect to own it. #1 rated warranty company - Endurance - won't even sell coverage on Macan. That should tell Porsche and all potential buyers something. Customer experience is far from an expected premium car brand experience.

It's an utterly asinine video made by someone who doesn't understand i. how the recall process works and ii. the nature and speed of the recall (which is initiated by the vehicle manufacturer by notifying the national authority) is determined by objective risk evaluation (i.e.calculated by combining a numeric value for severity and likelihood of occurrence). If the probability of risk is extremely/unnacceptably high then you will be advised not to drive unless at your own risk; there is also the factor of designing the solution (hardware and/or software) and the capacity of dealerships to implement. So instead of applauding Porsche for their diligence and honesty this guy, who seems to think the world ends with his problems, prepares a factually inaccurate and hysterical video... Wow.

There isn't really a car brand that doesn't have recalls. Even the most reliable brands suffer lemons. I have a Buddy where his family bought a new Tacoma TRD and it was a lemon, they got another one with the same issue and reduced it to a lemon. my Corolla I have has had a few recalls for the fuel pump and a sensor. I also spoke to Porsche USA, and the representative seemed surprised by that time frame, but he also really had no idea. They are facing shortages and are trying to prioritize people who have cars that are actually experiencing the issue. I don't know that they have actually repaired any yet. I understand that there are supply chain issues everywhere right now, but they should still be able to give an estimate. I don’t care if the estimate is 2 weeks or two days - I just need to know so I can act accordingly. Instead, I was met with puzzled expressions everywhere I went. Dealerships, support line, it was all the same. They really had no idea what was going on with the recall, and definitely had no idea when a fix would be available. If you’re putting known defective parts in your cars, and then open a recall for those, at the very least, you should be able to give an estimate for when a fix might be available. I ended up waiting 5 months since I was constantly told “We think maybe next month”. Which then changed to “sometime mid next year”. At that point, I sold the car. That’s 5 months of expenses and lost income since the car was grounded due to the recall. And two weeks after selling the car, I received a letter that a fix was available. I still don’t know if this was actually true. My Porsche Online account had been telling me to schedule an appointment for the fix from the day the recall was opened. That is very possible. And I don't have any issues with the fix not being immediately available. I don't even have an issue with it not being available for a long time. What I do have an issue with, is Porsche not being able to give at least some kind of estimate as to when the fix might be available. I was told anywhere from a month to a year, depending on who at Porsche I spoke with. In the end, a fix became available just weeks after I sold the car. Had I known that, I would have held on to it.

@cadreamdrives2 жыл бұрын
Hi George, Thank you for your comment! My issue is not with the recall. Recalls are great, and the fact that manufacturers are held accountable for safety issues is a good thing! My issue was specifically with the way Porsche handled (or rather, didn't handle) the recall. I understand not having an immediate fix due to supply constraints, but to not be able to give at least a somewhat accurate estimate on when a fix will be available is inexcusable for a company of Porsche's level.

Air suspension or only PASM do you recommend?
@cadreamdrives3 жыл бұрын
Finding cars that have PASM, but not the Air Suspension is extremely rare. They do exist - there just aren't many of them. I personally like the feeling of the Air Suspension on our Cayenne S (with PASM), but it's a very individual preference. Some people prefer the more direct feel of steel springs, whereas others like the slightly more "floaty" experience of an air suspension. But we are talking about very minute differences. My guess is that 95% of people would never notice a difference between the two. The air suspension is also likely to be more costly in the long run, as the air bladders eventually will need replacement. My personal preference would be PASM and Air Suspension, but it's definitely a very individual decision and there is no right or wrong answer. You'll love the car in either configuration.

Recalls are common for all makes and no big deal and nothing to talk about. I have only had recalls with an A6 and got to drive a new Q7 for about 6 to 8 weeks or more. Never on my 911, Cayenne and S4 over many long years of ownership.
@cadreamdrives2 жыл бұрын
Recalls are definitely common - and in most cases a good thing! My issue is not with recalls, but with the way Porsche handled (or rather, didn't handle) this particular one. The fact that they couldn't give me ANY indication on when a fix might be available (a week, a month, a year) and issued the recall without any plan to fix simply isn't acceptable for a company of Porsche's caliber. In my case (being a commercial owner), it meant I had to sell the car as it otherwise might have been sitting idle for more than a year.

My car doesn't actually have the issue - it only has the potential to have the issue. But since there is an open recall, it has been grounded. For most people, the recall won't be an issue. That actual problem is extremely rare, and Porsche has been taking care of people, who experienced it. @cadreamdrives2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dad, thanks for chiming in! Recalls are great and a very necessary safety regulation. I have no issues with recalls. What I do have an issue with, is Porsche issuing a recall and not being able to give their customers ANY kind of reliable estimate as to when a fix will be available. As a commercial car owner, a car with a recall is a very expensive paperweight, and not knowing how long it will be before it can be used again is a very expensive proposition. So I did get over it - and sold the car 😊

@@khoimavlogs5161I’m thinking you may not have watched the whole video 😊. My issue was, that since this was a car that I rented out, by law it gets grounded when there is an open recall. That in itself isn’t a terrible thing. The issue was that Porsche (both local dealerships and Corporate) were unable to provide a timeframe for when a fix would be available. II was told it could be many months or up to a year. That’s why I had to get rid of the car and that was my general complaint with Porsche. It’s fine if there is a recall, but you need to be able to provide at least some kind of timeframe for when the fix will be available.

There is no point of buying the base model of the Porsche when the Ford titanium is 16k less than the porshe but still better in every single way. Don’t even think about buying the turbo poshe macan either because who in their right mind would spend 85k on a car that is worth 30k.
@cadreamdrives3 жыл бұрын
@@Pg-ch5nb You seem to have strong opinions on this (which I like!). I've seen it mentioned that the "new" Escape looks like the Macan, but personally, I don't see it at all. The Macan's exterior design is very close to automotive perfection. It's almost impossible to see one and not want one instantly. The design language is unique, and yet still Porsche apparent, and the rounded, squatty lines ooze sexiness and power. To me, the Escape looks like just another nondescript car, which could have been made by any number of manufacturers. I'll also have to say that no matter how nice a Ford seems to be, or what specs it has on paper, it will never be a Porsche. They are just in completely different leagues. The Macan is far from the greatest Porsche (in my mind), but it will always be way above an Escape in pretty much every possible way - except price.
