G'day to you, I thank you for this,I am a 74 year Old Gentile, but have known Jewish People all my life,1955 was the first time, my Mother and Grand mother used to clean the local Rabbis House and I would go with them, I would get Beautiful Almond Cakes from the Rabbis Wife,I moved to Australia in the 60s and found that a lot of my Friends turned out to be of that Faith, I was invited to a Hanukkah one year where I met Several Beautiful Old Folk who all had numbers tattooed on their arm, I was so in awe of these folk ,what they went through, thank you once more for this my Friend! Sounds like I'm in the right place! I studied the Yiddish language films of Joseph Green at university (in UK). I can't 100% confirm this, but I think they may be some of the only film images we have of Kasimierz in Poland before the Shoah. Yidl Mitn Fidl is still one of the most heart warming films I've ever seen ❤️

Hello, a middle aged gay goy here who has always been drawn to Judaism. Here are three controversial picks for your consideration: Eyes Wide Open (2009); The Rabbi's Cat and, of course, Yentl. Please don't be offended by my picks, I love all the traditional favourites too!

It would be very interesting if you were to explain/analyze this movie: "Gentleman's Agreement" (1947) starring Gregory Peck. IMDB- A reporter pretends to be Jewish in order to cover a story on anti-Semitism, and personally discovers the true depths of bigotry and hatred.

Agent Emes, iykyk 🙌🏽🔥 but in my mind the most iconic Jewish movie of my childhood was the Disney Channel original movie Full Court Miracle

I LOVE Hester Street. Carol Kane is perfect in this role. Other films you should look for are "Yidl Mitn Fiddl" with Molly Picon. Look for "Mottel Mit Dem Paysl", and the Yiddish film "Tevye." Look for "A Brievele der Mamen." These are wonderful films. Do a compare/contrast between Tevye and "Fiddler on the Roof." I guarantee you that the movie "Tevye" will win hands-down, and if you want me to explain that point by point, please ask. (P.S. Hershel Bernardi plays Tzeitel's son in "Tevye." Tzeitel is widowed ... Bernardi must be 12 years old.) Good luck with your project. I look forward to hearing more.

Ideas of films to review 1. Chaim potack's the chosen 2. Menasha 3. A stranger amongst us (they all ask in different ways what it is to be a jew) And ofcourse the films where the clips come from (the jazz singer also has a color version and fiddler on the roof has a black and white version called grena felda)

Goy Boy here; Hebrew Hammer is still funny and A Serious Man is fantastic. Personally, when I think of Jewish movies my mind goes to A Serious Man, Borat, Girlfriends (1978), Munich, The Believer (2001) & Kenny vs Spenny. I honestly wouldn't have thought of Schindler's List as a Jewish movie, I think of Holocaust movies and Jewish movies as separate genres (even though they're obviously very intertwined. That's probably because I'm an outsider looking in.) Edit: also Uncut Gems is great.
