Why I Missed Atlas Nationals (PLUS 6L80 UPDATES!)

Was really bummed i couldnt make the event for Atlas Nationals. Wanted to explain why and give an update on the 6L80 swap.

It's scary to think that there was enough heat to melt that connector. A connector that resides inside the fuel tank.... at the top of the tank.... where the vapors are most prevalent. Very glad that didn't end badly for you. The lack of oxygen in the fuel tank at that time is probably the only thing that prevented a bad outcome.

I had that exact same problem! It left me stranded 3 times before I figured it out the same way you did. Dropping a full tank sucks!

I assume that in a 2wd application, the transfer case tomfoolery wouldn't be an issue. A friend is building a V8 SS clone, but he is gettting rid of the front differential and is in the market for an upgraded trans. I am going to show him your channel and True Blue Motorsports website.

@@J-Whit cool good year making model 09 and 08 , these models don't have fuel filters ,it's inside the gas tank with the pump.. also front front sway bar link different then 02-07, 09-08 fan clutch is thermal fan clutch, 02-07 is electric

the V8 version actually has a shorter front drive shaft by a couple inchs. FYI

Good to know! Was hoping with just the yoke swap onto my driveshaft it would be close. But i do need beefier shafts anyway lol

@@J-Whit pretty sure the I6 and the V8 front driveshafts are the same minus the length the front diffs are the weak 7.2 and they are pricy! My extended wheel base V8 does have a larger diameter aluminum drivline and a gm8.5 similar to the 8.6 rear end. I think the SS has a different rear then both the 6 and 5.3 V8 but the same front diff.

10,000 lbs with a Sequoia I don't believe that's safe

The sr5 5.7 is a tank. Doesnt have a lot of features so the vehicle weight is lighter than the more premium models. The only think that was sketchy avout my enclosed was the aerodynamic aspect. Plus the sequoia is IRS vs solid axle. An open trailer it pulls no problem at all though.

true. if i would of figured out the fuel pump issue i would of came with the 4l60 no problem. but i just didnt have time to figure it out until the last minute.

I got a 06 tbls when im low on gas about 3 notchs it no starts no cranks but after a couple trys it starts right up
