A local from Cali here. Foreigners asked me once in a while how dangerous Cali or Colombia in general are? I say this all the time, think about St Louis, Detroit and Baltimore and just watch the TV news and look the reporters talking about shotguns, hijacking and some drug problems that amazing cities have to deal every day...In fact I feel safer in Cali. As a brown man I can tell Colombia is a "free skin country" what I mean is that no one judge you or make assumptions about you simply because you're skin tone or mother language... I know what I'm talking about. Enjoy my fellow gentlemen and try to learn some Spanish.... Greetings from Mississippi River!

Love south Cali too, very green, 2 great malls, Unicentro and Jardin mall (very beautiful), richest families live in the south Cali, especially Lili and Jardin areas. Also, El Penon area is nice, Granada distric, great area too, fantastic zona rosa, great restaurants and boutique stores.

Go late December during la Feria de Cali which runs usually right after Christmas through New Years . Most of the city is in party mode . Stay away from any part of the east side of the city and you’ll be ok. If you like nature or hiking you can go to Pance , or hike up the three crosses (Tres Cruces ) .

I fucking loved cali i stayed in el vergel in aguablanca district n it was my favorite part of the city.. Ive been to that mall you went to. I stayed by it for a few days in san vicente..But i preffered the rougher part of the city. Im a white guy from Missouri just a country boy but i loved Cali.. Im coming back in june..i stayed over a month in a supposed dangerous part of the city and had not one issue... I partied with the locals n it was a red zone n felt safer than i do on east side of st louis.. I exchanged my money at that exact place u said😂. Thats crazy u ran into another american i ever saw one american there.. But they did say i was the first white man ever in there neighborhood in el vergel. Its a no go zone i guess but i walked all around even after the bombing they bombed a military police truck but people were cool..
