Hey Justin I have twin daughters and have missed so much during their 14 years due to work, Birthdays,Christmas,parties etc I retire in two weeks and plan on making it up to them massively. Never underestimate that family time as you’ll never ever get it back 🚒👍👍

And if you could do it, please mount a microphone in the cabin that can handle the noise and pickup on that heavenly sound... That would be awesome and thanks for sharing your story !

These sort of videos are really interesting Justin especially as an insight for those of us that would love to do the same. It's obviously so much more difficult now since Brexit, especially if you want or need to work, but we are desperately trying to make changes in our lives to make Spain a viable option to at least spend more time there. Everyone we have spoken to out there though have always said how difficult it is when it comes to making a living! As for future ideas, you seem to have moved around the area a bit from your previous videos, so buying property would be interesting from a personal level and a tour of the Manilva area would be good as it's not somewhere we have spent any time but have been through there on a couple of occasions, and as it seems to be an area that is more affordable that side of the Costa del Sol, it's an area we would be interested in.

Hi Paul. Sorry, for not responding sooner, just catching up with comments today. Over the years we've seen so many people come and go for various reasons. It is tough to move abroad, especially if you need to make a living. I'm lucky as I've always managed to earn money online so I'm not dependent on the local area. However, lots do move over and make it work. I'll do some more videos about living here, working here and what it's really like! Cheers

Cheers for the background story Justin. Many people just don't understand how much hard work goes on behind the scenes. Which I'm guessing why you went away for a while. Being broke & down to your last few $$ happened to me as well after a marriage break up. Still not fully through it as of yet, but it's a work in progress. I'm only 3 mins drive away from the beach as well, makes a well-earned reward after a busy day sometimes. Happy to report that the Keyring arrived Thurs 9th March. :) It's happily on my keyring as we speak.

I like your backstory 😉 I have a friend who was on rhe bones of her arse for a few years, and when he came into some money, he bought his first decent car, and travelled overseas. But remembering his poor days, he does things such as, when a group of us goes out for a nice meal, he and his wife buy a large entree and large main and share it. 🤠🙆‍♂️

Yeah, I empathize with that. We grew up with very little and when my mum got some money she would buy loads of food and we wood binge eat for a day! I still do that...which is why I now have weight control issues 😅

First off, sorry between "Drive To Survive" and work, doing a bit of catch up. So going to cover this and the last two with the one comment. Hell, I am a Cavan man so we are tight with everything. Anyway, would love to see more on Rockie and I think I have a nick name for her or is it he, Emperor Palpatine. That cat just seems to have the look. Track day with the two cars, for me the Lambo wins, looks like it was more fun to drive (leaving out the whole brakes thing), brake fade build character, plus it sounded so nice on the down shift. Finally, for you life decision, that took get courage, especially with a young family, but more so when things went bad, you stuck with it and never gave up, you are a great example to the current generation. Just wondering, did you ever think of doing a deal with Repsol, you always seem to be driving past the fuel station 🤔. Roll on next Wednesday

Yeah....it's a tough decision and such a big move. Being away from friends and family and starting from scratch....it is tough. I've known many people come and go over the years, especially the wives missed the family a lot.

I was desperate to leave my first job because I’d worn out my relationship with the office manager. I wanted a career in IT. So I made the slightly selfish decision to leave that local job as a draughtsman and commute from Manchester where I live to Warwick university as a CAD support and applications engineer. It turned out to be nothing like described in my interview and in fact my business card said “Teaching Fellow”. The point to this 2 1/2 years doing this and another two self employed working away was that I missed out on five years of my young daughter’s life. I do regret that if not the decision to leave that job. All worked out ok in the end.

Kids grow up quick. The time we have with them when they are young goes very quick and it's easy to miss out on so much. It's always tough to get the right balance I think.

Late to the game here, but always watch when I can....Curious what your online biz was? Was Spain the only option? or the "beaches" were too appealing? I have never been to Europe or England, so not sure why Spain was chosen over other countries? Very interesting to hear more about your life story. Thank You for sharing. Sometimes we look back on our lives (we are about the same age) and wonder how on earth did we make it haha. Keep looking forward my friend👍

Thanks mate. I grew up in Gibraltar so I already knew some Spanish which helped. Spanish friends...they are mainly the ones that have come from other parts of Spain. Local Spanish are generally friendly but more family focused. We met quite a few when my kids were young in the local school here

Another great video. Can you offer any advice or where to go to learn about digital marketing? There's a lot of information out there but I'm very skeptical about the info these so called "entrepreneurs" are sharing thanks and keep up the good work

Hi mate. Difficult to know where to start to be honest. I mainly work in organic search (SEO) and there's a lot of rubbish information out there. A good place to start is probably Google Garage. Google has lots of helpful documentation for SEO so that's probably the best place to start

Good for you, you deserve everything you have. I have a somewhat similar situation, I left Spain and moved to the US a few years ago and have no regrets when it comes to career opportunities. If you don’t mind me asking, how has your business and personal life been affected with the whole Brexit situation?

Definitely a lot more opportunities in the US than in Spain. It can be very tough here. Things haven't changed too much in terms of Brexit for me. The airport is the main problem. I was already resident here so things sort carried on as they were.

After living in this bullshit weather that is the UK in 2024 I would love to live in Spain! I would be too scared to learn a new language and make all the adjustments to my fairly easy and uncomplicated life though!

It's a massive change. And for many it really doesn't work out. It is very tough, so it's not for everyone. My advice....don't complicate your life if you don't have to. I complicated mine, and although I don't have any regrets, it was bloody tough in the beginning!
