North York sounds like a convenient space to live! The lower rent is also an appealing factor. Great video!

It’s a good well balance place I find - thanks Zack !

Thanks for the mention! I hadn't really considered its (North York's) relative location to everything else in the GTA to be a factor, but it makes a lot of sense. There is a joke saying (paraphrasing): "In Toronto, you're always 1hr away from Toronto." We also joke about Waterloo/Kitchener and then London (where I'm from) becoming a part of the GTA someday.
@FrankHuynh2 жыл бұрын
No worries - thanks for the video idea! It's kinda true 1 hour in Toronto sometimes get you still in Toronto xD - all the best!

North York is a good option because it's super close to downtown but it doesn't have the insane prices and noise found in downtown. My personal favourite area of North York back when I used to live there was North York Centre. There are tons of businesses nearby, it's quite walkable and it's 20 mins away by subway from downtown.
@FrankHuynh2 жыл бұрын
I'll have to visit North York Centre - thanks! I know there's a bunch of great food options nearby there. Still getting familiar with the area but ya loving it so far

I live in Markham, living downtown Toronto is overrated. Nice to go downtown sometimes but too busy and too much going on. North York especially Yonge/Sheppard area is a nice area!
@FrankHuynh2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! Downtown was convenient at the time but living in it all day gets draining. I like the balance up here. Also markham is great too. Cheers!

North York is still considered Toronto (part of the 6 boroughs) and not GTA, but its at the border. North York is not your typical suburb, It's a node on the subway line that feels like its own downtown (referred to as uptown Toronto), it has more skyscrapers than even cities like London, or hamilton, its connected to the subway line and Go transit, and theres more amenities than any typical suburbs in north america, its also walkable. This is a great location for anyone who wants convenience but doesn't want to pay for downtown prices. People in north york often take the subway down to midtown Toronto (Yonge and Eglinton) for their downtown needs since midtown, another node on the subway line has movie theatres, shopping, bars, and more similar to downtown without having to take the train for another 20 mins.

Whaat, North York is in no way a suburb, it's the city of Toronto. Thornhill is a suburb, or Pickering. I'm at young and shepp and I virtually never go south of the 401, my entire life is in North York and the York region.
@FrankHuynh2 жыл бұрын
Yonge and Shep is nice! Love the food options. It's funny I know where you're coming - strange thing is when you search on google it states that its considered a suburb of Toronto. But ya I know what you mean..
