As one who never thought I did, I came to find that GOD was my most urgent need, I just didn't know it yet. This isn't a video about heaven, hell, or telling anybody what they need or don't need: its simply about - why I need God? Consider it a proposal, an opportunity, or a very gentle invitation: and the choice is completely yours.
PLEASE HELP we need you to survive Thank you: www.imbeggar.c...

I love your videos man. The lack of background music, making it easier to focus on your soothing voice. Filling me with joy, peace, and shamed conviction at times. I can feel the spirit emanating from your videos. I would also like to say the depiction of Jesus (Yeshua) in this video is that of Cesare Borgia, and that the Bible says his "eyes are like fire, his hair like wool, and his feet like burnt bronze" - Revelation Thank you for this message today, it was beautiful.

I used to STRONGLY believe in the Christian God. With time and life experience, that baseless faith waned. Looking for clarity - I found your channel: Many thanks - you single handedly clarified this for me - There is no god, and those that think there is, will lie and use cheap propaganda tricks to try and trick the gullible into agreeing there is. Please keep your channel up. I will come back if I ever have any doubt about the subject. many thanks - you convinced me - there is not god

IMBeggar's "wisdom" here is like that of the Bible itself. It was heady stuff in the iron age, before science and the enlightenment, but is on the same level as flat earth and slavery today, both supported by the Bible. In fact the fastest way to atheism today is to just read the parts of the Bible you don't get in church. That God is not all love and peace and truth. It's the most evil character in all of fiction. We don't need that God, or any wishful thinking, at all.

I would advise you not to assume that everyone feels the same way. You sure didn't guess the way I feel about things, so it just ended up looking silly. No, "1 + 1 = 2" would not be true without the universe. Without the universe the statement "1 + 1 = 2" would mean absolutely noithing, but of course, without the universe there won;t be anyone to make the statement "1 + 1 = 2". Math is invented. Without humans there would be no numbers or math rules, or anything like that. Likewise I have no reason to assume that human emotion of love, the human judgement about truthfullness and goodhood somehow predate humanity. Sorry, that makes absolutely no sense. That's like saying that the units of measuerment (like meters or miles) are not invented, but discovered, predate humanity and must come from a supernatural measurer. It sounds like complete and utter nonsense.

@@imbeggar "So you’re not searching for truth, love and goodness?" Not in the way you describe them, no. The way you describe them is nonsense. When I seek love, I seek connection to other people and to the world around me, not to some incoherent idea of a supernatural, eternal, absolute love. "If not now, you will." Oh, you can see the future? What's the winning numbers for the next lottery?

See how he, again, attributed a stance to you that you do not hold; "So you’re not searching for truth, love and goodness?". Which is ironically something you called out in the first sentence of you comment. I get confused when I think about it because on one hand, someone that asserts things about one's position without knowing for facts, strikes me as unreasonable. I would dare say that the act of faith is epitomic of foregoing reason, but I digress. We want to engage with believers given how they sometime tend to misrepresent atheists position, but it seems pointless so often. And on one hand, some of us atheists understand that religious belief is not innate, it is very much something you learn through teachings, by others. This leads me to reflexively think that I could talk some sense into them, but it is unfruitful most of the time. Religion truly are insidious poisons. *Added edit for the sake of fairness* As much as I do not like that he asserted things about your position, his wish to you for peace seems earnest and that is worth pointing out. Cheers to that imbeggar.

I’m young, 13 years old. I was never baptized, even though my entire family was. I never understood any religious things and I still don’t now. I don’t understand the story of Jesus and God, I know some small parts, but I do not understand anything and I feel left out and uninformed about our creator. I feel like I can’t do much about it. I do not know if much, like if it is disrespectful to pray while not being baptized and other things. I believe I can only start my journey of finding God and Jesus once I. 18 and I can go to church to get myself baptized, but something feels off, like I am wrong and I can do something. But I do not know what to do and I am just confused and fearful that I will not find God. Please help me…

I can say that try to have faith unto the Lord and the salvation He has displayed on the cross and to repent of all the sins you have done(turn away from sins constantly) and also try to build a life of bible devotion to try( Recommend you start from Matthew to revelation multiple times and learn who our Lord Jesus is, Try to also establish a life of prayer as well to build a communion with Him. This is the gospel of salvation thru the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. The problem is that we ALL are sinners (especially in our minds and hearts). We all are lustful, or greedy, or jealous, or envious, or selfish, or hold grudges, etc. Those sins leave a filthy disgusting mark on our souls that is NOT erased by our good deeds. Every time we sin, we break God’s rules and rub more putrid sewage on our souls. The problem is that WE can’t clean OURSELVES off. Good deeds don’t cancel out the stain of sin. No matter how kind, generous, and unselfish we are, we cannot “earn” our way into Heaven because we are covered in rotten putrefaction. Compared to the pure sinless, holy glory of almighty God, how do we look? Disgusting, sinful, corrupt, dishonorable, disgraceful, UNWORTHY. We don’t deserve to be in his presence or to live in the unspoiled magnificent beauty of Heaven. The problem is that our sin has consequences. And when we die, the price for our sin is eternal separation from God. But God knew this, and yet he loves us anyway and wants ALL of us to go to Heaven. So what is the solution? Jesus basically volunteered to be punished in our place. He paid the price for our sins. That’s why he sacrificed himself and suffered and died on the cross for us: to save us. He was our scapegoat, our whipping boy. But he did it so that all our sins (past, present & future) would be forgiven. He essentially bought our “ticket to Heaven”. 3 days after his death, he rose from the dead in a glorified body and showed he really was the Son of God and that if we trust in him, we too will have eternal life with him. He then holds that ticket out to each of us saying “I love u. I died to save u. Please accept my free gift to u. Do u trust me?” God wants this from us: - To be humble before him. - To be thankful for Jesus sacrificing himself on the cross to pay the price for our sins. - To feel sorry for our sins. - To make a commitment to try to be more Christlike and stay away from sin. - To realize that he loves us and that we have immense value to him. - To accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. If we do that… Boom… We are saved! The ticket to Heaven is ours! Pretty cool. We can ALL get to Heaven NOT because of what WE DO but because of what JESUS DID. That is the good news of the gospel of salvation thru Christ. It boils down to Jesus saying “I love u. Please trust me”. Does God want us to stop sinning? Of course. But he knows we are not perfect. Only Jesus was able to live the perfect sinless life. But, God wants us to keep trying. He really likes it when we keep making an honest effort. When we screw up, we need to be sorry and try harder next time…. That is the commitment God wants from us. Once we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are no longer “dead”, we are no longer “lost”. God is just so happy we have come home, he smothers us with love. It’s almost like we can do no wrong. Sure, the closer we get to God’s pure holiness, the more we can see our own sinfulness. But God tells us “I don’t see your sin anymore. U have been washed clean. Welcome home!”

7:20 This is me. I've been a Christian my whole life, and I have assurance of my salvation, but my upbringing put very little focus on my spiritual being and needs. My environment changed a year ago and now I am surrounded by so many people who even if they don't live on that "highest floor," they've been there and it's marked them. I want so desperately the relationship with God that they have, but the ideas and ways almost feel foreign to me. I think I write this more for myself than for the rest of the internet to see, but I do want to share that even in my struggles, doubts, and questions, I know that God is leading me towards Himself. Even though sometimes it feels like I don't believe it, I know it's true. Stealing this quote from somewhere, but God doesn't write stories that He doesn't finish. My "making it" may never come, but it's His story, not mine.

As an agnostic, I can't help but be happy in that second level. I don't have any inner feelings of emptiness. I seek truth by learning about the sciences and learning how things work. I do my best to be morally correct because being immoral makes me feel terrible. I also feel that these values are not gifts from god, but direct products of evolution and humankind. We have morals because it benefits others and increases the community's chances of survival, and our pursuit of truth is what made us superior to other animals. I don't need a god to be happy. I have my own friends and family who love and understand me.

How clever he is to hide the gun that this imaginary god is pointing at your head. "Believe in me or I will shoot you" There is no free will in this proposition. He is inviting people into a world of threats and division even though he cannot provide any evidence that anything he says has any truth to it. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.“ ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ You’re no longer naked in Gods sight. He’s clothed you with a robe of righteousness through the blood of Jesus and believing what He did. Now we can come to him boldly at any time, especially the times where you feel like you’re not good enough. Jesus has given us all an A+ report card with God when we just believe what he did for us. ”And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,“ ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ Go to him with a full confidence and knowing that you’re now, in this life, holy and blameless in His sight because of Jesus.

Your presentation is very cool and emotionally stirring at times, but as an atheist, this is not very convincing. This video is littered with unsubstantiated assumptions that most atheists would notice and need proof for before they take it seriously, such as the existence of anything "spiritual", or if there is a spirit, that it has anything to do with the christian god. I could make almost the exact same video only replacing the bits about god with something like Buddhism, and it would be just as believable. Just some examples of things I took issue with: -I do not possess a feeling that there is anything supernatural. -My feelings and desires come from my brain, not whatever a soul is supposed to be. -Love, truth, and good, are concepts that animals like us either made or evolved. They didn't exist before they were thought/felt. Except perhaps truth, since what is true is simply what lines up with reality, though without a mind to comprehend reality nothing can be comprehended as true. -The existence of a spiritual world is purely an unproven hypothetical at this point in time. -As I said none of this leads to the christian god, that is just your preference. If I accepted all of this as true, it could just as easily lead me to any number of deities or other fictional concepts.

This sounds like C.S. Lewis' quote, "if I find in myself desires nothing in this world can satisfy, I can only conclude that I was not made for here." And the song Brooke Fraser wrote about that quote called the C.S. Lewis song, of course. Is such a beautiful concept. Thanks for taking the time to articulate this, especially for the intellectual.

Hate to break it to you, but for me, and the vast majority of atheists I have interacted with over the years, the question doesn't even get to "do I need god?", it fails at "is there a god?'. I am fully aware that there are social and political advantages to be had by calling myself a Christian... and I know all to well the implied threat inherent in Christianity, the divine mafia boss saying "that's a nice soul you've got there, be a shame if something should happen to it. Hehehe". I have also been repeatedly exposed to the standard Christian rhetoric where you tell me I'm sick (sin) in order to sell me a cure (Jesus), and I find all of these things to be little more than emotional appeals and empty assertions. I love how you aren't going to focus on the hell thing... but you're just going to put it out there, knowing that it will turn people off completely, then pretend that it isn't a massive part of your religion. Its very dishonest of you, frankly. No, that line around 1:00 doesn't resonate with me even a tiny little bit. Its empty nonsense. Demonstrate that we are "spiritual beings" and that we live on, then and only then will I care even a little bit. You can claim "we all know it" when talking about things all you like... all it does is demonstrate that you don't have the slightest clue when talking about people different than you. No.. it is just wishful thinking... we don't "feel" it at all. You go on talking about the spiritual part of us... which, again, is an utterly pointless thing to do when you haven't established that the spiritual part is even a thing. You can pretend that everyone believes the same as you if you want... you're wrong, but you can pretend that. It won't give you any points unless you are only interested in speaking to the flock of people who don't want anything more than someone to come along and reassure them. Everything you attribute to the spirit/soul has a physical explanation. So... it seems that this whole thing is little more than "we have questions, I assert that the answer is God, you don't know otherwise so listen to me". That really, really doesn't cut it at all. Your string of empty assertions fail from the onset because you don't understand how people who don't believe what you do think or what they believe. You are talking past people, not to them.

This did not come across as much of an invitation. It came across as a host of baseless assertions, starting with the one at 1:06 that everyone "resonates" with the idea that we are spiritual beings. That certainly doesn't resonate with me - I don't even know what "spiritual" is supposed to mean. As far as I can tell, the word "spiritual" is used as a placeholder for whatever woo a person wants to assert is true without providing any evidence. I am a physical being experiencing a physical existence, in a physical universe. I see no reason to think that anything other than the physical exists - certainly I've never seen evidence of anything non-physical. My advice for theists is that it's not helpful to just assert you know how non-theists feel or what we think - it's super condescending and comes across as unbearably arrogant.

Only stipulation I have is the spirit thing… the “we all feel a connection towards something like we’re missing a piece of ourselves that can be filled with truth and love…” I don’t feel this way at all. I have been agnostic for many many years now, and Christianity seems like a cult, I’ve read much of the Bible but the idea that “we’re all connected” I don’t think is real. It’s a phenomenon I speak about quite frequently and I’ve never gotten a great response from it or I guess argument for it. It’s usually just “we’re all connected if you believe in the higher being” I just don’t understand why? Why does believing in this other power suddenly make you spiritually connected with other people? Again absolutely no hate I am just curious.

I am not a Christian and I'm curious about one of the comments because I tend to hear this a lot. If you're committed to the belief that there absolutely MUST be something else that goes beyond this world and nothing can change that, then is it seriously possible to have a discussion with someone who doesn't think that on a level playing field? I ask because it doesn't seem to be the case for me. The statement "there must be something more" is an immediate discussion ender (or thought-terminator as some other people call it). If a non-believer admits there is a possibility that something else out there (but isn't convinced of it), but the believer has an unshakeable acceptance that there MUST be, then the believer is admitting that it's impossible for a change in their perspective, compared to the unbeliever who admits that they could change their mind. For me it just seems insincere for a believer to want to have a real conversation with people about faith if a believer has made up their mind already (something more MUST exist) and refuses to entertain the mere idea that that simply might not be the case.

This video is a massive cope. Religion really is the opium of the people, after all. Yes, your whole life is resumed to this physical existence. We can't be spiritual creatures because of material causality. If i move my arm to push a ball, there is a causal relation of particles that lead to the movement of the ball. The ball, a physical object, was pushed by my arm, a physical object, and my arm was moved by my brain through my nerves, both physical. The brain and nerves work by electrical and chemical signals, carried by physical objects, such as electrons and molecules. If you think my actions are caused by some spiritual substance, you are saying that somewhere in this chain of events, some immaterial thing pushed a material thing, which is absurd. After all, if a thing can push matter, it can be measured, therefore being physical. So, everything we do and are must be physical in nature. Once your matter is destroyed, you're gone. Want to know how it feels to be dead? Just remember how you felt before you came into existence. Maybe a creator exists, but that doesn't change the fact that we are literally just physical beings. Whatever this creator is, it clearly isn't what christians claim.

I remember when I used to believe in a god. I did for many, many years. I felt “the Holy Spirit” and saw signs everywhere. Yet now, I don’t feel that anymore. I don’t miss it either. I’ve just grown skeptical and more aware of how logic and sound reasoning works. I hate to be the semantic person in the comments, but I just don’t hear anything that’s convincing in this. Sure, it’s mentally pleasing to talk about abstract concepts and for the greater good and mental improvement of ourselves, but I just don’t see how that means that there’s a spiritual realm out there. It just doesn’t add up. It very much sounds like wishful thinking with a side of logical dissonance. I appreciate the positivity of this video, because I’m sure you know the vast number of other ‘different’ types of content surrounding this topic. The typical fire and brimstone preaching, or even just the “atheists get owned compilation #56” type stuff. Even if we disagree on if this spiritual stuff is real, I appreciate your positivity and mood at how you approach the subject. Great video. 👍

I completely understand where you’re coming from. When I was in high school about 10 years ago, I had a come to Jesus moment. I felt the Holy Spirit working in me I had unshakable faith like nothing could come between my relationship with him. Then something terrible happened in my life that made me lose all hope and I became very sad and depressed and lose my faith that God is real. I abandoned the faith for many years as I saw it as a joke. God never answered my prayers or so it seemed. I was heading down the wrong path. I filled my life with all types of carnal pleasures and nothing seemed to fill the void. I committed my life back to Jesus and I struggle daily but I feel a sense of purpose again. & I feel like life’s not all in vain. Life is hard and unpredictable but I know that my belief in God will help me get through to the end. I hope this comment finds you. I totally get where your coming from to at least some extent, I don’t know your story. But, it’s worth looking into again. God bless have a good day.

One thing that i couldnt wrap my head around as an agnostic was how the universe began. Even if everything came from a single point or atom… where did the atom come from? No matter what sci-fi we tell ourselves to digest the scenario it all comes down to requiring an uncausable cause. Something outside of our realm. Here’s a philosophy question for you. Say something comes into existence… why? There is no need for the universe to have “existence” it could remain an empty void for eons. “Oh it was created from black matter and energy waves.” Cool… where did those come from…

@@nathanielnagy1420 there’s a very simple answer to that. It’s called “I don’t know” I’m not going to assume or make guesses about what caused everything. Though don’t mistake that for me saying I don’t believe the Big Bang happened. I’m convinced by the evidence we have thus far that the Big Bang model explains how our current representation of the universe began. But I don’t have a clue about what came before that.

@@imbeggar"For us believers, that's another name for God" And that's a subjective truth. You would need to actually establish God being objective truth (Not sure what you mean with that, its existence I guess?), love and goodness as an actual fact, otherwise is just a subjective truth. The last two aren't really possible since both are subjective concepts themselves. And lastly, the Christian God wouldn't even qualify as a being of pure love according to the definition of love in the bible (see 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 for the supposed definition)

Honestly, I agreed with most of what you said up until the part about Jesus. That’s where it gets tricky. How can anyone possibly know that he is the only one that is right, out of all the other teachers? It sure would be nice and much easier if that were the case - I just feel like it’s a simple answer for a very challenging question. I think you’re right about it being incredibly challenging to go from intellectual to spiritual enlightenment. But there are a lot of assumptions one needs to begin making about the nature of God to assume they would send a savior to show us the way. It could be that, instead of hoping for something outside of life, maybe the point of this life is to experience this life itself, and accept it as it is.

I think one of the biggest myths is that belief and connection to God or gods brings fulfilment. It didn't. In the many versions I got to experience God. I think another problematic myth is that we need God. I think we should rather accept that we respect God and the idea that he may exist, but don't undermine that some of us genuinely live more holistic, and fulfilled lives outside of the faith of any religion. So, thank you for the invitation, but I humbly decline. But I'll keep watching these videos and I'll keep accepting invitations to church (as long as it's not about converting me), because I love learning about other people's beliefs.

How to accept Jesus'offer and follow HIS path not your's 1. Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (sincerely please) 2. Repent and ask for forgiveness of your sins. This doesn't mean you are able to stop sinning, all have fallen short ask for forgiveness when you do mess up. 3. Follow his commands for your entire life not just once, Jesus had to do it so do you. 4. Pray and simply talk to Jesus live a life of prayer. Prayer is simply having a conversation with God and Jesus. It doesn't have to be long just consistent. 5. Let Jesus change you invite him into your heart, he doesn't care about your sexuality or what you are he just wants you home. It's like a father stressed his kids are thrown in a war for no reason. 6. Live a holy righteous life like Jesus teachings. (Ex- help the poor, give to others show love and compassion, not for clout but to show others gods love) Call out to Jesus he misses you and wants to forever be with you. Mate Jesus is coming back for what's his don't risk your eternity just ask God or Jesus so long as you have faith as a small as a mustard seed. Please spread it so we can go home... Religion is a wonderful thing. It provides strength to the weak, hope to the desperate, and content to the longing. That is if people don't see through it. I want to believe, I want to blindly put my faith into the unknown, I want the comfort from seemingly nothing, but my rationale won't allow it. I see through it. All the festering hypocrisy, unfulfilled promises, the narratives that don't hold water and the blind discrimination beneath the puffery brazenly stare right back at me, brass necks front and center. Using what I observed, I create my own truth. And that truth is that true love and goodness are virtually inexistent without the lost who blindly worship. I know that those happier than me aren't less lost than me. I don't need religion to love, be good, or know the truth. By knowing these, I am content. By making my own truth, I have made my own home.

There's something i really wanted to tell you. I've basically never told this to anyone except God. My father believes in God, but i saw him, really often, screaming to my mother, go against what God said or taught me. I don't know what's in his head, so I'm not going to judge him. Others won't even believe in what i have to say, not even my best friend. They don't believe in God. I remember today at school my classmates were talking with my physics teacher, i heard stuff like: "Being atheist should be normal, God does not exist". I don't and never will blame them about 'not believing in God', if I force someone to believe in God, they'll surely find ways to not believe in him, it would not be true faith. I've never read the bible, but firstly i wondered: "How is religion something that everybody follow?", it was strange to think that you'll need to follow severe rules or you'll be punished. I remember a day where my father was explaining me a chapter of the bible while i was taking a shower. He said: "Moses turned back to those who choose to not follow god and, with the power of God, wiped them off from the face of the earth". I asked myself: "How? Why God punished those that choose to not follow him, and why with something that wasn't love?" When i was 15 years old I asked myself: "How can i make the right things in front of God?" but at the same time i thought: "How do i be real in front of God, and not doing good just because i have to". Since I'm Italian, I remember at school my teacher explaining the divine Comedy, from Dante Alighieri. When she explained hell i was really scared. I thought that the hell that Dante described was the real hell. Only a few years after i understood that it was not true. I remember one time when one of my atheist friend asked me: "Why do you believe in God?" and i didn't know how to answer. If i have to answer that question today, honestly, i believe in God because i have proofs that he exists. Even if i tell to others "why" he exist, they won't believe me. I'm not talking about physical demonstrations or something that is wrote in the bible, he just showed himself to me. Every time i was angry, scared, suicidal or just sad, i asked God for help. At the beginning I didn't understand why everything was still going wrong, sometimes even tragic, even when i asked him for help. But after time, i gained experience from that and eventually got better, with time, i understood that it was God, helping me grow up. I still could go on and tell a whole world of personal experience about this, but there's a thing that really scares me, and I don't really know what to do about it. Firstly, I'm addicted to porn, every time i say to myself that i want to stop, i keep falling into that deep hole of temporary pleasure, and then i don't have the strength to get up. But secondly, I am really scared of arriving at the end my life, walk to Jesus and being said: "I've never knew you". Please, help.

John15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit-fruit that will last-and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other. The World Hates the Disciples 18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[b] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’[c] The Work of the Holy Spirit 26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father-the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father-he will testify about me. 27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. ❤
