Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great holiday season!
This is a long video describing my recent TV purchase "journey".
Lots of talk and praise about the S95b and some observations about the A95k. All of these OLED based TV's are amazing, especially in recent years.
Back to regular Samsung content in the next video.
Oh, and sorry about all of the "Ums", especially in the begining. This wasn't my normal video style.
Thanks for watching.

RADER TECH!!! This the single greatest and most honest retrospective on the TV consumer experience I have seen anywhere! Thank you for sharing your experience with us, my friend. I love your honest, respectful,and thoughtful approach! I'd love to try out the G2 next to my S95b at some point. I am pretty sure that 65" display you looked at was set up improperly or possibly one of these bad updates. Then again, who knows. I do love that the LG Oleds have stood the test of time, whereas we have no idea of the lifespan on S95b yet. When I catch myself worrying about potential burn in, etc, I have only to remind myself that I have an airtight 5 year Costco warranty 😄 You make a great case for the G2! You have an excellent, thoughtful way of presentating your thoughts eloquently without any hint of negativity! Much appreciated 🙏

Thank you so much for kindness, and for watching this very long video, it's the longest video I've ever posted. I would love to see the G2 and S95b (both setup good) side by side too. I honestly think that the s95b without all of the crazy firmware updates would destroy the G2. That color volume mixed in with the 1,500 nits that it came out with would have been incredible to see. I'm really hoping they knock it off with the updates on the S90C and S95C, but I have my doubts. They just need to leave well enough alone IMHO. These next few years are going to be a big battle for these TV companies.

@@christianmarmol3230 Exactly, to all of this! Headaches and frustration galore, but totally worth it in the end. I think in 5 years time, we might get to skip MLA and QD OLED altogether, and go straight to Micro LED. I can't believe Samsung revealed consumer sized micro led's at CES this year, they've made a lot progress fast. Oh my goodness, can you imagine a 4,000 nit screen that looks as good as OLED, with zero risk of burn in? I hope we see it get priced right sooner than later. We'll both deal with that headache when the time comes, lol. Meanwhile, we're sitting in pretty good shape with the G2. I really do love this TV, it's hard to stop watching it at times.

Thanks to your in-depth video analysis of these heavy-weight’s of 2022, you might just have sealed a deal for me, hehe.. 98% sure I’m going with the G2 now! Just like you, I’ve been on “the Hunt” for quite some time now. Reading/seeing reviews all over have given me headache’s, cause sooo much contradicts certain things, depending on which critic reviews you’re reading up on, or watching video’s about! Yours here just spoke to me in a way, that felt much more overall sensible at the end of the day. You represent most of us! ;-) So THANKS for all the struggles you went through, to bring us your perspective, cause it’s a huge help! :-) I wanted to ask: When you talk about going to the store and you saw the SONY-A95K for the first time, and that it did nothing for you, saying the brightness wasn’t impressive either.. Did you actually ask the people, at the store, if they had made sure to turn OFF stuff like “energy-saving/Eco-mode”, and all of that other irritating stuff? :-) Cause that would’ve obviously made a huge impact on the image-brightness, if it was turned ON, right? Ps. Clarity and SHARPNESS? Some say the SONY is much ahead there? What’s your opinion? :-) Thanks again! Your video here was great!!! :-)

Hi, thank you so much for watching and for your kind words, very much appreciated! I did talk to them about what they did to set them up, and it appears all they do is put them in store/retail mode and put them on display. I'm not sure if the store mode has the power eco settings on or off. You would think they would be setup to be as bright and impactful as possible, but what I saw in the A95K was disappointing. It's hard to say what it would look like when you got it home and setup properly. Considering it won TV of the year, I'm sure the A95K is a great all around experience. If you're thinking of buying soon, I would probably wait a bit longer to see how the A95L, G3, S90C and S95C shape up. We'll be seeing them hit the market very soon. I saw a couple video from Stop the FOMO showing the Samsung panels might be out in February, and LG's G3 should be out in April. Lots of excellent options to choose from these days.

@@RADERTECH understatement. So much unnecessary hoopla over QDOLED, the G2 flew under the radar. If the price continues to drop I think the G2 will be the Best Buy of 2023 until it’s discontinued. Howdy Chad, thanks for stopping by again! DV is all dependant on how well they master it seems. Some stuff looks a little better when it's enabled, some looks better just using regular HDR. It's nice to have the option, for sure. I'm not so sure about AMOLED panels really make a strong showing. A lot of the media and reports I see often confuse OLED, WOLED and and QD OLED with the active matrix AMOLED panels. I've heard they exist, but have it to actually see anything with a large AMOLED panel. I'm not sure if AMOLED would up well against MLA OLED and QD OLED. Those technologies are surpassing what regular AMOLED can deliver. Micro LED will be the real future for all of us, someday. Oh man, Micro LED is simply amazing, I can't wait!

You are right that running the TV at max brightness in perpetuity is likely a recipe for trouble down the road. At CES 2023 Samsung revealed the new model can hit over 2000 nits, as you know. However those levels will undoubtedly be nerfed in the same way the S95b's were. It's just smart business when your company has to honor long term warranties. So, all these factors have been weighed and balanced, and I feel pretty safe running mine at peak brightness when I feel like it, seeing it showed capacity of 1500 nits and now scaled down to 1100 or so. However, it still can feel too bright in low light and I have to scale it back. What's so cool to me is the glory of the specular highlights and the laser like colors! I did at least 20 vids side by side C2 vs S95b, and in the end my C2 got the axe. But after your vid, I'm feeling I need to give the G2 a fair trial next. I'm afraid the 2023 tech is gonna be too pricey for me this year, but hoping it will bring down the price of that 77" G2 I'm hankering to try :)
@RADERTECH
@RADERTECH Жыл бұрын
Yep, they're throwing a lot of high nit numbers at us from CES, but I'm a little sceptical of what the real numbers will be in say FilmMaker mode and not vivid. They keep saying the G3 is 70% brighter too, but that's just compared to the B2, of which it should be a lot brighter anyways. I just checked out your channel and sub'd, you have some awesome videos posted! Costco Steaks, Coffee and S95b's - sounds good to me! I'd personally wait until the G3 comes down in price, or even better, just enjoy that s95b for at least a couple more years while things work themselves out. Who knows, Micro LED might go mainstream sooner than we think, and that's where the future's really at. I think LG and Samsung are going to go toe to toe for the next 2 to 3 years, and either MLA or QD OLED will pull ahead. Maybe they'll both succeed in harmony, and maybe Sony will end up putting out both types of panels at some point. The TV landscape is going through a major shape-shift right now, so I'm not feeling confident in investiing in 2023 or even 2024 models. Who knows though, maybe one of these panels will come that will be the difacto panel to get, then I'm sure we'll both be upgrading when that happens, lol.

Hi Rader Tech, you don't even know how much I like this video :) I have feeling that you filmed my story :) 99,9% exactly same story. Originally it was C2 vs S95b in my case. I spent a ton of time with watching videos and reading comments, topics etc etc... for two months... My girlfriend almost started to hate me, because my brain was stuck and I wasn't able to focus on other things :D So I bought C2.... But during this S95B was still in my brain. But then I got a superb deal for G2, I packed C2.... and went for G2. I fully agree with everything that was told in the video. S95b is amazing amazing tv but for me: - as was mentioned DV is not only about brightness. I checked a lot of videos comparing LG DV vs S95b HDR10 and during the closer investigation, I saw that in dark scenes there were so much more details on LG thanks to DV. etc etc.. So you can live without DV definitely, but with DV life is sweeter :) - build quality oh oh... bending problems, dead panels (red, green, blue strip on panel), remote controls problems etc. I just don't wanted to play this lottery before Christmas time. - downgrading tv with every single firmware update. Everyone knows what's happened with brightness. And What I saw last FW (two weeks ago?) broke motion handling even more than it was broken before. There are a ton of problems. But it is not a surprise, it is the first gen QD OLED. So it is not hate it's just a fact. Like a secondary tv? I would like to try it because I like new tech, but not like something that I want/need to use every day. And I have to mention that I have a soundbar Samsung HW-Q930b so with S95b I would be able to use q-symphony but even this benefit does not convinced me to choose this particular model. So I feel with your family, for what they had to go through with you :) I hope that your G2 will serve you as much as possible and enjoy new gaming experience :)

I'm kind of dreading doing this all over again in a few years, but I'm kind of really looking forward to it as well. We basically have the King of WOLED's right now, and when it's time for us to upgrade, we'll be looking at MLA and QD OLED, so it'll be a nice upgrade when the time comes. Sorry for the long post. Wow, can't believe I spent an hour watching a TV review, with that being said, this purchase represents a significant financial step for me as well, so I've been struggling to accrue as much information as possible in order to make an educated guess and not look back and regret the purchase because of being negligent about some important detail. I was feeling ready to pull the trigger with the C2 prior to seeing your video. It felt like the right choice, even though the sales rep earlier tried his best to persuade me to opt for the s95b which was right next to a C2 at the store but I genuinely couldn't see enough of a disparity between them to justify the risk involved. I feel justified after hearing about your experience and thought process. The problem for me now is you've made me seriously consider the G2 (which I had previously felt unnecessary). The choices I have are the following: C2 55' for €1180 and no extended warranty. C2 55' for €1300 and 5 yr store warranty. G2 55' for €1500 + €100 for mount My local store also has a G1 65' available for €1500 but it's a demo unit so I don't feel comfortable with it, on the other hand, it will have a 5 yr panel warranty in case something goes wrong. I'm leaning towards either risking it with the C2 with no extended warranty for the better value proposition or playing it safe and paying up for the G2. Can't believe how stressful this has been xD Anyways, thanks for the honest review- it was very helpful.

Hi, thank you so much for watching, I appreciate you. It's a tough decision, I know how you feel. I seriously lost sleep over the decision, it was driving me nuts. Having had both TV's in hand, and considering you're looking to not upgrade often and go with something for the long term, I would lean more on the G2 honestly. There's some scenes where the brightness difference is very obvious, and the highlights just hit you harder. The motion is smoother too. The new main reason not discussed in this video though is that the G2 was the only flagship panel from 2022 to not show any signs of burn-in after 1 yrear of continuous use at RTings. com, DigitalDigest did a video on it a couple weeks back. The A95K and S95B both showed signs of early burn in, while the G2 didn't. I don't recall if they tested the C2, but I would assume it wouldn't do as well since it lacks a heatsink. It seems like that heatsink really does make a difference. I think you'd be happy with the C2, for sure. But if you can spring for it, I'd go with the G2. You can also find VESA mount desk stands that are good for lot less than that too.

I am actually returning my S 95B and not for the reasons that others are worried about. I am returning the Samsung for the LG simply because I want to make sure that the product I have in three years is the same product I have today without any altering of the software. Once Samsung altered the software in such a way that the TV does not look the same. I got a really bad taste in my mouth. So to each their own.

You know it's an issue when you can find countless firmware related videos for the s95b here on youtube, that's not a good look for Samsung. I think I would feel just like you if I experienced that, It would drive me nuts. This is my first LG TV so I can't comment on how they do long term, but so far it's had 3 updates that I can think of, and they haven't messed up the picture at all. Hopefully that trend continues.

I’m currently shopping between the C2 and G2. My wife and I live in an apartment because we havent found a place to settle in yet so I’m kinda hesitant on committing to the wall mount (I will not put the g2 on a stand). I’m good at fixing up an apartment when it’s time to get my deposit back but it is an extra hassle when we might be moving in 6-8 months. My current plan is to try to get free same day delivery and installation. If I can get those things (we live on the top floor) I will go with the G2. If not then the C2. I thought about the A95K but with a sound bar, series X and ps5 2 2.1 hdmi ports doesn’t cut it. Especially when it’s such a step up in price.

To be honest, I would probably wait until later on this year to see how the G3 and the latest QD OLED's from Samsung pan out. You'll have quite a few more options if you can wait, and they'll both be a considerable upgrade over the C9 for you. But I know waiting can be hard, believe me, I know! Sony is releasing the A95L too, so lot's of new options are coming out. I would have probably waited myself if I already owned an OLED panel. I have had a Panasonic Plasma for over 14years, only 720p, but the picture quality and colours are just so good, never had any burn in issues, the darn thing is so reliable, it just refuses to die, its served me well, time to upgrade. I now have a good collection of 4K blu-Rays, so i would really like to see them in all their glory, I have finally made up my mind to go for the 55" G2 (her indoors won't let me have the 65") after lots of research, so will be place the order within the next two weeks, super excited.

RTings just wrapped up burn in tests for year 1 of last year's panels, and the G2 was the only panel to show zero signs of burn in, not one bit. Thanks for the video. I wish I'd gone for the g2 but it didn't have a stand and I didn't know if a 48 inch would fit the room. It does and possibly a 55 inch would maybe fit and what I would probably buy next as I didn't realise only the 55 inch and up C2 only benefitted more from increases brightness. I'm glad you are happy with the g2 and possibly I would consider getting it but the stand isn't mean to be good and I can't wall mount. I do value the heat sink and would feel more confident running higher brightness longer with that. Either that or the G3 but even that I would hesitate due to the unknown of the MLA. I haven't seen many allude to the fact mla is in its infancy and is more to go wrong potentially. 5000 lens per pixel so may be other unknowns too, but hopefully less burn in risk as the panel may benefit from either the same amount of current as the G2 and higher peak brightness, or less current depending how LG set it up with more light being redirected to the viewer. I hear better colour and viewing angles for the g3 too, but I feel MLA is only a sticking plaster and quantum dots the way to go in future, as well as blue phosperscent material in the midterm, and eventually microled. Microled may be the holy grail apart from QDEL and proper QNED (not lgs current fake qned). I bet mla plus qd oled would be interesting if mla has a similar benefit to that technology. Anyway thanks for the video.

Thank you so much for watching! Your comment is excellent, you bring up many valid points, and my thought process is that same as yours. I'm sure MLA will be great, and QD OLED will continue to improve, but they're so new that I'm sure drastic improvements will be seen to those 2 tech's in the next few years. The whole stand situation with the G series sure does suck. They should just throw one in the box at this price point, especially if they're going to attract more G series buyers by only putting MLA on those, and not the C series. I guess the only real option would be to find a vesa desk stand on Amazon. I saw quite a few that were reasonable priced (around $40) that seem a lot better than the one LG makes for it. That stand is so bad, I wouldn't consider it.

Thank you. I wasn't very well up on TV technology before my purchase of the C2, but have found myself researching various technologies. I'm not an expert by any means obviously, but was astonished what paying a little extra for a none budget TV could look like. The comment about the G2 and having a stand I have tried to think about from LG's perspective, and wonder if more people wall mount than use stands now? In my limited experience most TV's have been on a stand but including both a stand and wall mount may be economically unviable for LG. The G2 is marketed only as it stands for gallery as you probably know already, but it is a shame their 4k flagship is only wall mount. Possibly if they included a stand do you think people would pay the extra £/$100? It would be nice to have a choice. Thanks for the suggestion of the vesa stand on amazon. I think I have seen some and hopefully they don't wobble and incline 5°. Is the vesa a standard attachment? I hope the MLA technology works, and possibly LG need it to do so to compete with Samsung at least until the blue phosphorescent material is released. I'm glad you are happy with the G2 for now but do want to ask if you noticed any ASBL (Auto static brightness limiter) kick in or ABL? I had to turn TPC (temporal peak luminance control) and GSR (Global Sticky Reduction) off, as long dark scenes with subtitles were dimming already dark scenes to near indistinguishable luminance levels. I have wrote this as well in case someone stumbles upon it. WARNING May void warranty if you enter the service menu via service remote or other methods. I am excited for microled too, but not completely sold it will be burn in free, as led still degrades over time. Likely more resistant but I'll believe it when I see it, as it is still self emissive. Are you planning to keep the G2 for a while or take the plunge in to qd oled? It still amazes me we are dealing with technology on such a small scale (the quantum world) right now. Thanks.

I’m only part way through your video - but you really made a great one. Very down to earth and I like your positivity! I’m in the same shape , choosing between c2 , g2 , and possibly Sony a80k (much dimmer but I like Sony haha). One thing that’s interesting - right now the 55 inch c2 is 1300 and with a bb 5 year warranty - it’s 1600. The exact same price as the 1600 dollar g2! Which comes with a free 5 year Lg warranty . So for me it’s actually about the warranty haha. If they are close . I’m getting g2. Lastly , regarding the g3 coming soon / I have a feeling it won’t be in the same relative price range as g1 and g2 of past years - meaning , with such new tech as mla - there must be some extra cost beyond it just being year “3” model. What do you think about warranty ? Thanks again for a great video !

Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching. You make a very good point about the G3 likely being more costly, and it's hard to say if there will be any long term issues with all of those tiny MLA lenses. I think there's roughly 5,000 of them per pixel, that's nuts. I think it will mostly depend on how well the Samsung QD OLED's do, and what they get priced at. For the G2 vs C2 part, I really do like the G2 quite a bit better. I did so much back and forth testing, and I just ended favoring the G2 by a nudge in all areas. It's the little things like the motion being a little smoother, the overall image looks a tad sharper, highlights stand out more. All being tested with the same settings on both. I'm sure the BB warranty is much more inclusive than LG's, so that's something to keep in mind. If you plan on wall mounting, I would probably lean on the G2, and just utilize it's 5 year warranty if anything happens down the road. The only concern is some people report pink tinting on 65" model, but if you're looking at the 55", you shouldn't have to worry about that at all. But, if you don't test the C2 and G2 side by side, you'd probably wouldn't even notice a difference between them. They do perform very closely, so don't feel like your settling if you go with the C2, it's a great panel.

From what I can tell by looking at the store model of the S95b, it has quite a bit more "pop" than the C2, depending on the scene you're looking at. Black frame insertion only works on 60hz now on the latest OLED panels, so it kind of sucks now for those of us that want it for 120hz gaming. The LG C1 had it, but the C2 doesn't. I think that will improve as the panels get brighter, as they'll likely bring it back. I think that's why they stopped including it, because it lowers the screen brightness by a lot.

Hi, thanks for watching! Yes indeed, agree 100%. That's why we have a QLED out in our bright living room, and I keep the G2 OLED in my office, where I have control of the lighting. Truth be told though, I usually keep my lights on while watching the G2, I'm very impressed on how well it cuts through the lighting I have. These 2,300 lumens lights I'm using are no joke. They weigh as much as a brick almost, I'm surprised my light fixture can even hold them. We're going to keep seeing major improvements with brightness over the next few years, they'll just keep getting better and better. I can't even imagine what the s95G and LG G6 will be like, they'll probably be completely different TV's by then. That's when I'll likely upgrade again, can't see any reason to in the meantime, I'm very happy with this TV. Not just because it's pretty bright for an OLED, but the experience as a whole. It just works, time and time again. Hopefully nothing changes with it as the years go by, I want it to stay exactly like it is now.

@RADERTECH

Hi, thanks for watching! The upscaling happens behind the scenes, it's not something you change, the TV automatically adjust content. With a 4K blu ray player, it will typically do any upscaling first before sending the signal to the TV. But only if the content needs upscaling, such as older 720p or 1080p stuff. I was very interested in a C2/G3, but I won't be wall mounting it, and so far their optional stands (that cost $150 - $200) causes the TV to rest at an angle, which I won't be able to tolerate. I'm hoping the optional G3 stand ends up differently, but I doubt it, so I'll probably have to settle on a C3. I've gone from a 55'' B6 to a 65'' C8 and more recently I picked up a used 77'' C9, thinking it might actually be "too big", but after a few weeks of acclimation, I can't go down in size. Just trying to decide which TV to get at the end of this year to replace it. As far as your own concerns about "maxing it out" go, I think you're looking at it wrong. The G series gets just as hot as the panels that do not have heat sinks. The reason the heat sinks exist is so that they can get brighter and remain brighter for longer. If they were only displaying at the same brightness as the other panels that do not have a heat sink, then yes, their longevity would be increased, but that's not what they were designed to do. I very much doubt you'll have a higher lifespan with a TV that has a heat sink vs one that doesn't for HDR content, when the one with the heat sink is brighter and hotter by default. It's basically a wash in that regard. Having said that, you did end up getting the best TV for the cost as far as the "top tier" sets go from the various manufacturers. So there's that. The Sony panels might technically be better when it comes to movies, and motion handling, but they're worse for gaming and there's the "Sony tax" on them too which just make them far less of a value. Besides that, heat isn't the only thing that actually causes "burn-in". It's primarily just uneven wear that is the problem, and while HDR gaming will increase the wear, you can still get it with SDR gaming. Hell, you can even get it with subtitles over time if you watch enough shows with them on. Panel variance is a thing (which includes uniformity. You could have gotten a C2 that had MUCH better uniformity than the one you ended up with, or one that was far worse). Some of them can also be more prone to burn in than others, and while I've only ever had any of my OLEDs for a maximum of three years each so far, I haven't had burn in yet. And I game a lot on them. I just don't really put thousands of hours into the same game. I am kind of wondering though if as the panel ages if it actually becomes more susceptible to it, because the used C9 I got for cheap had 17K hours on it already (!!!) and I've noticed that it has a very bad issue with temporary image retention. If I display any bright icons, or even a seek bar from a streaming app for even a single minute (or at least short enough of a period to prevent the screen saver from activating), once I go back to the content, there will be after images of those icons or that seek bar for up to a minute after that. This never happened with my previous two TVs that had less than half the total use time on them, and they were earlier models too that were supposed to be even worse regarding burn in chances.

@@RADERTECH I may just go with the 65” and get a full motion wall mount that extends 2 feet out or so, so that when I watch 4K content or game on the PS5 I will be closer with more immersion and when I watch cable (sports etc) I can push it back to 8 feet for a sharper image. Plus I’d save myself a ton of money by buying the 65” over the 77”. I’m still undecided. I’m afraid of not buying the right size. I’m worried if I buy the 65” that I’ll want more and wish I got the 77” and that if I buy the 77” that it will be too big. Lol I’m thinking the extendable wall mount would solve the problem. What do you think of that strategy?

A95k S95B G2 C2 in that order. Dv hdr10+ are marketing, different titles netflix has dv prime has hdr10+ similar ammount of content. Hdr10+ is royalty free so will be adopted. Sony is clear leader in quality but also cost. Very little seperate s95b and the lg duo, but s95b is better by a bit.

Hi, thanks for watching! So my TV isn't calibrated or anything, but I'm happy to share my settings. So for Dolby Vision (DV) and HDR content, I always leave the Oled Pixel Brightness and Contrast set to the default 100, and Black Level set to 50. For SDR: Typically I use Standard mode when viewing SDR content. In Standard mode, I have Oled Pixel Brightness set to 70, Contrast set 85, Peak Brightness set to High, and on the Color settings I have Color set to 65. In the Clarity Settings, I have the Sharpness set to 10, and all others set to default. For HDR: For HDR content, I'm usually in FilmMaker mode. Oled Pixel Brightness and Contrast is at 100, Black Level at 50, sharpness at 10 and color at usually 65, sometimes only 60. All other setting I leave default. Dolby Vision: Same as above for the most part, I don't notice any real changes between the 2. For Gaming, I usually pick the Sports mode regardless if it's a Dolby Vison, SDR or HDR game. Also, please make sure to turn off the eco saving feature (that will give you a brighter screen) and make sure Logo detection is set to Low. Other settings are to taste really. Sometimes I play around with the Color Gammat, going between Dynamic, Native, etc..., they impact the overall brightness. Happy to help with any other questions you might have.

@@RADERTECH brilliant! I’ll tweak mine accordingly, if you game with an Xbox series x do you have a no signal error? If I have 120 hz and vrr enabled, I get that error? My old cx did not have this issue, I’ve got a proper 8k HDMI. Wonder if it’s just a handshake issue with Xbox ?
@RADERTECH
@RADERTECH Жыл бұрын
@@brucefalkenberg7242 I've faced that issue a couple times with the C2, but not really with the G2. All I did on the C2 was change the port that HDMI cable was inserted to, and then back again. I did have one issue once where my XSX would only recognize my G2 as a 1080p screen once, and the fix was a quick toggle on the TV. I just went into All settings, General, Devices and switched HDMI Deep Color off and then on again. That switches the HDMI output from 1080p when off to 4k when on. For some reason, it didn't notice it was on one time. Thankfully that only happened once though, I darn near forgot about it, lol. When troubleshooting, I'd always use the cable that comes with the xbox first to rule out cable problems.

Oh wow, congrats on getting the 77" G2, I'm sure you're going to love it. I'm telling you, gaming on the G2 is an INCREDIBLE experience, you will not be disappointed - that would be impossible, lol! Every time I go to play I tell myself "Only 1 hour this time, keep it to a limit", then about 4 hours go by and I'm still completely sucked in. The details and highlights as well as the infinite contrast ratio make for an unbelievable gaming experience. I flat out love it, it keeps amazing me even nearly 1 month after getting it. When I used to game on my TCL panel, I'd be done gaming in like 45 minutes, every time. Those days are over, the gaming sessions are long with the G2! Congrats again, it's one heck of a TV. Hi, thanks for watching! Great question, and I have a great answer. Back when I bought the G2, nothing clear was known about the G3. We didn't even know if MLA would be coming out, because Vincent at HDTVTest put out a video saying it would be delayed for a year. When it comes to TV's, I always buy around Black Friday time, that let me get this G2 for under $2,000. It was the best time to buy, by a couple hundred dollars. So now a few months later we know a lot more, and times are very exciting. Since this video is getting so many views, I might end up selling the G2 around Black Friday time, and picking up the G3 when it's at it's lowest price. But, I want to wait it out and make sure we don't have many complaints come in with MLA. That's the other main reason I didn't want to wait, not knowing how well MLA would shape up. We still don't know, so I wouldn't even consider the G3 yet anyways. Honestly though, the G2 is already so bright in my room that anything the G3 offers will be over the top for me anyways.

After a week the C2 went back S95B was just flat out better at the den, the G2 stayed till the very end with my family making the decision 3-1 in favor of the sam. I used my trusty old favourite pioneer monitor plasma going on 20yrs to reference them all. it was used for 6 yrs then laid to rest in my garage. THEN i spent another 2 hrs at BB debating on the G3 as i found that a hair better in all areas. But at double the price i would have to remove my son from daycare in may.

I just bought a G2 for $1000, I’m going to use it for 3 or 4 years and keep my eye on the market and wait for some of the new innovations and let the new technology mature a little bit and then I will buy a new TV. $1000 is not something that locks me in for a decade, if at any time I feel blown away by any new TV technology I can just replace the TV in my living room, and swap some things around. The only TV that offers a marginal improvement over the G2 is the S90C and I just don’t trust that panel yet, I guess you could say the A95L but that has a $4000 price tag. I’m not getting 4X the TV with that A95L, so that tells me I’m good for a few years and my G2 has a 5 year panel warranty.
