My wife bought me a Silhouette Cameo a few years back. I LOVE it !! I put vinyl stickers on everything. My son and daughter call me from time to time wanting stickers. I also do silk-screen, which is awesome as well. Keep Stick'in em !

The Shasta and Lighthouse story behind the sticker is awesome! I'm glad to finally hear the real story behind that sticker choice. The birds and the lighthouse are also so fitting on a PRS. I'm not a sticker guy on my guitars, but really like the aesthetic you've created on your instruments. I'm more of a show my individuality with a custom strap guy. Keep up the good work. since i was 6 i put JGR on my strat pick guards. i don’t sell my guitars. i’ve lost a bunch in house fires but i they are stuck with me once i get em. except me and my brother pass guitars back and forth a bit. i used to put “ more beer “ on alot of my guitars too. but i was a teen and i drank a good bit.

I have a Carvin which I completely covered in stickers when I was in college. It stayed like that for maybe 3 or 4 years. I scaled it back when I grew tired of the gaudiness, and now it just has a large peace sign behind the bridge and a skateboard pin-up girl sitting above one of the tone knobs.

I love Redbubble! I get my stickers from there too! I've never put a sticker on any of my guitars but I put stickers on my guitar cases. It looks cool and it identifies them in case they get stolen or if I get 5 of the same guitar. My road case for my Marshall is covered with Redbubble stickers Lol.

I was also thinking about it, the backside is definitely fair game for me. As for the finish, the worst case is, one just has to repaint it. It's no different from other people repainting a totally new guitar because they don't like the finish. I also feel like its another way to express one's self like tattoos, but less permanent and you have more space to play with lol.

Very touching hearing about the lighthouse sticker, thanks for sharing Lucas. I think it's cool to customize your guitar, it definitely makes it more unique. I don't worry about resale value on any of mine but I haven't put stickers on any of them. Back when I started playing guitar, the only people I knew who did it were kids into punk music and they put all sorts of ugly stickers - basically covering the whole guitar. Or duct tape was also a big thing for holding on straps ala Greenday. I was not into that. I was going to have my sister paint one of my guitars (an SG Faded Special with the crescent moon inlays) but she never really got around to doing it and I've since sold that one. I would certainly consider doing it in the future on another guitar or especially if I build my own guitar.

I don't put stickers on my guitar but now I have a better understanding as to why some people do it. If I was to put one on one of mine though I would most likey put one on my Ibanez AX120 (I know cheep guitar but it's my favorite out of the ones I have). The made in heaven one since I named that one Claire as well since its a candy apple red and that's what it reminds me of. (The first time I played RE2 on PlayStation)

I’m like you. Some guitars get them. Nothing as large as the ones you have like the lighthouse or from Oblivion though. It’s a neat and inexpensive way to personalize a guitar and make a bit of a statement about yourself. I’m going to check out your supplier. Great video, enjoyed it a lot.

I understand your motivation for personalized guitars, I’ve got a parts-caster telecaster that I call my Merle caster. I applied Merle Haggards signature in black vinyl along with an image of Merle in black below the signature at the rear of control plate. At top bass side front I have a city of Bakersfield decal that honors Merle’s birth town as well as having lived in Bakersfield myself as a kid. I drew inspiration from Marty Stuart’s Clarence telecaster for mine. It’s the only guitar I have stickers on as well, it’s quite simply my memorial to a man’s music that Carries so many memories from my childhood. 🎶

Good points. I try to keep my guitar original, but if I get a scratch, I have fun with selecting a good sticker. God bless those that could strip a guitar down, paint it and put it back together, but that is definitely not me. I find some nice stickers at Hobby lobby but I have yet to find the kind of stickers that I really would like which is the stickers that have velvet on them.

I would suggest Dutch Bros stickers, but I think that they are still pretty much a West Coast thing, so probably just be confusing. Okay, they are a Drive-Thru Coffee Shop chain that's quite popular on the West Coast, and originates from Grants Pass, Oregon. And on a certain day of the week, they have free stickers at many of their stores, and the day varies by area, as they are franchises, and the franchisees buy an area exclusively. Like a county or a township. Anyway, I think that they also sell the stickers on their website at times. You might want to look them up, see if they have anything that interests you.

I have a black Epiphone Explore basically the Epiphone version of the Gibson Dave Grohl played early on in Foo Fighters. I made a stencil & put the cursive Fs on it to show Foo Fighters & I put a small Canadian flag sticker on it since I'm in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

I love that all of those stickers had a story to go along with them. The Oblivion sticker is tremendous! That game was revolutionary. I wanted to do a Skyrim one, but runes look silly on teles. For what it's worth, I see the guitar the same way- it's a tool. Like a familiar tool, we get used to how it feels in the hand, and we are aware of its idiosyncrasies and such. To me, the people who want to make it look gallery quality are missing the point- it's yours. Make it yours. Bond with that instrument as much as you can. It is also a vehicle for expression. Whether it be the original Franken Strat or SRV's #1 with a left handed trem and beat all to hell, it and the player are kind of one unit. Have a good one!

I like a sticker on the backplate for the same reason - out of all the same model and color of guitar from the factory line, this one is mine. I also like how you relate the sticker to the name and story behind the guitar! Your Firebird is my favorite in your collection! Is that Pelham blue? I have an Arielle from Brian May Guitars, which looks like it was inspired by a Firebird - just a different headstock, shrunken down body, different angles. Mine is Windermere blue - which is like a Pelham blue/frost blue metallic hybrid. Plus the abalone snowflake shaped inlays and I HAD to name it Elsa. So I have an Elsa sticker on the plastic trem cavity cover. ❄️ It was super fun listening to your stories and connection to each of your guitars. I love listening to people talk about their guitars. The fact that you’ve chosen meaningful names that relate to important people or pop culture references from that time in your life is so awesome.

I cover my harley benton hb35 hollow body (front and back body) with leopard skin contact plastic, and also my reverse neck Fender strat :) I also name my hb35 to "Albert" because Albert Järvinen who was great guitarist in band called Hurriganes and he played hollow body sometimes, mostly live. That "made in heaven" sticker is like mant to be on that firebird.

I saw van Halen in 04 as well. Silvertide had really bad sound, however this was stop 1 or 2 of the tour, gave them a second chance on record, definitely sounded better!

You would have to put a ridiculous amount of stickers on an acoustic guitar to have any noticeable effect on the tone. It would take multiple layers of stickers on top of each others, and even then I don't think it would do *that* much.

I put a MusicGoRound sticker on my beater Les Paul to piss off an old friend that cries when he sees stickers on guitars.
