Honestly the best video regarding this subject on KZbin! You literally showed everything, unlike other fake gurus who hide everything (prob cause they’re faking it) and just try to sell you some course... Not only is your content and video high quality production but the information is incredibly valuable! Like you said, retail arbitrage is not really sustainable/scalable (I’ve experienced this myself). It can make you a little extra cash as a side hustle but that’s about it. Your idea of buying wholesale and becoming a retailer for certain products and brands on Amazon or even selling on your own website (E-commerce) is a much better business model that can be turned into a more passive income. The best way to make money on E Commerce sites is to have one or two niches and stick to them . Find a category that you enjoy and stick with it and learn as much as you can about them. Collectibles are one of the best niches to get into right now because of the demand and ease of sale . Sports cards, comics, toys , gaming cards etc are awesome categories to sell on

Thank you for the video. That was getting a reality check. I did Amazon a few years ago but stopped doing it after a couple of months because I was restricted on most of the categories and the fees were crazy. You are very smart and I wish nothing but the best on your future. As an advice from an adult, stay away from drugs, friends who don't respect you or ask for money, be kind to everyone and keep an open mind. Travel the world and interact with other cultures. Oh stay away from junk food too. You're young so it won't effect you that much but when you're older your body absorbs that fat unless you don't exercise. Stay away from cigarettes too. There's a lot more but you'll figure it out eventually.

I did retail arbitrage using FBA for a few years around 2013-2015 and it was so much easier back then. Hardly any categories were gated and you could go into target or any other stores like that and buy up everything from the clearance section and send it to FBA for a decent profit. I couldn't imagine trying to get started with it today, there's just way too much restrictions and competition.

Some good content here! I just exited RA and now focusing on OA which is way more scalable and less time consuming. My strategy started with flipping items on Ebay from garage sale and thrifts then push most of those profits to selling books on Amazon. Then I used the profit from those 2 sources to get started with RA/OA. I started in September with $650 and by end of December I had 10k in Ebay sales and just hit 10k in total amazon sales. Last week was my first 100% OA shipment that took me maybe 2 hours to compile leads and then 2 hours to order, pack, and ship to Amazon. My spend was $1400 and previously the most I spent at one time doing RA was about $250. Garage sale season is starting again so between that and compounding we will be able to pump more money into FBA and grow those sales. Eventually FBA profits will go towards buying rentals and investing in other forms of more passive income.

Pretty good.. You did great saying to not pay for ungating services.. also the bolo groups are a trap that many newer sellers fall into that are a waste of money for the reasons you mentioned. The only thing that I don’t fully agree with is that it’s not a good passive income.. If you grow it you can make a lot of money with it. Then you can hire employees so you don’t have to work as much. My wife and I averaged $127/hr last month.. It keeps going higher and higher the larger we get.. We will make over $200k this year from it.. So while it isn’t completely passive, most people don’t have hundreds of thousands to put into stocks real estate from the get go.. Our plan is to make a good amount of income fast with reselling and then to put it into stocks and be able to retire by 35 or have the business be completely hands off by having multiple workers who do everything for us.
@StephanYazvinski2 жыл бұрын
That’s true, my hourly numbers were so low because this was my first month, and i’m sure I could get it higher. RA in general is a more complicated business to scale compared to others and I just had lots of school work to focus on, so I quit.

did you do wholesale or just OA?
@John-nk1be Жыл бұрын
deng.. you have a bright future. As an Amazon seller myself, everything you said is accurate. I do wholesale/ private label models. I think RA is best for beginners since the risk is lower and the initial investment is not too big. Then once you get used to the process, jump to the wholesale model for bigger profit but less time required (once you figure out your distributors and winning product). Finally, once you have a steady income from wholesaling, it is best to try private labels. It is costly, but once you find winning private-label products, all you need to do is to reorder from your manufacturer.

Yes, putting a lot of energy into what you did to make that money is something most people can't do continuously. Plus, all the trial & error would drive many out of their minds. Of course, for many who have a short-term goal to raise money for something specific, this may be worth the time & energy if you're up to it....

Great Video. I went back to school last year in a very immersive program that has me actively working from 8am-6pm Monday through Friday. It's hard to pull off a night shift after a full day like that and weekend work left me feeling totally drained with a 7day a week schedule. I'm trying to find a way to make more money in less time and have basically been garage sale and thrift/restore flipping. It's going alright but the red tape and fees are killing me

I make a great living doing mostly Retail Arbitrage. You can't build a real business in 30days, but just the fact that you made any money shows the potential. You can scale so fast & later use that cash to jump into the more passive businesses like dividends, real estate etc

The funny thing is that all the Amazon RA gurus don't talk about their customer returns. This alone will kill your profit significantly since the profit margin for RA is super slim.

@tomcondie85202 жыл бұрын
Arbitrage is great but you have to continue to add products and scale to your own warehouses and not paying low fees for amazon to store your products like with Amazon FBA private labeling. For long term success it is more effective to do FBA over arbitrage. Cool video and i can tell you have the drive to be successful no matter what :)

In my opinion,RA is a volume thing! For one to be successful you need sell a lot of profitable products so your monthly fixed costs are easily covered by the profit you make… So you definitely have to put in the hours and also do a lot of research to work smart & not too hard!

Great video. I've been doing this for 3 months and have come to the same conclusion as you - not scaleable and a huge time sink - especially using a hair dryer to get the price tags off before you ship lol Thanks! I'm not having luck finding wholesalers (Frontier's pricing seems really high - more than Amazon on some products) but I'm looking that way too...

Yea, ur right abou the delabeling, i would say it’s the most tedious part that I didn’t talk about. I had a shipment with probably 150 items(my biggest one) and holy crap, it took me more than 7 hours to delabel. I was awake till like 3 am frequently delableling. I have a lot of local discount retailers near me that I find many profitable products to resell on ebay, mercari, etc. Amazon is too complicated for me (too many hoops to jump through). Instead of trying to work on this so often, I make relations with managers to order huge quantities at good prices (not easy to do, but worth it).
@donovan85302 жыл бұрын
Even if you do list say like 10 items at a time (not sure what the limit is), how often do customers actually buy from sites from those?
