It's good you quit modelling before it consumes you. I was an Assistant casting director for years. I must say models are treated like disposable objects. Models are exposed to sexual harassment and some succumbed to it just because the competition is so stiff. It's sad models are like season, they come and go. It's great you got a fall back. Bravo! I just quit today, modelling part time .. the photographer I did work for recently, made me look 15 yrs older than my age, for a hat company.. they never told me they would make me look matronly..it was to adhere to an older audience, which wasn’t discussed prior to doing this work..my image is now ruined.. I’m done.. I’m fed up..I was doing it for fun, but it isn’t fun anymore when there’s no apology or conversation to clear any misunderstandings.. all the photographer did was deny any photoshopping was done, basically laughing in my face and telling me I’m washed up ..there’s nothing I despise more than a liar. I worked many years with the same photographer, never demanding anything in return, only to be brushed off like old furniture or an old prop.. people are greedy.. they are dishonest.. and they’ll make money off you with no remorse.. it’s an awful industry.

Well, congratulations that you got out of that life my opinion what you should do is go to college go to vo-tech find something that likes you up that will give you an income like a living wage, and forget that this industry even exist, because if you’re not like Gandy Mills, Chico, John, Jordan, and others that were given the brass ring then go find something else to do. It’s gonna make you happy.

I was thinking of doing modeling as a male as a fun partime gig but now i'm no longer interested in it, too much superfacialness and the feeling of being a piece of meat and trying to grow a minimalist life style is near impossible to do in a modeling career when there is so much materialism and stress with how things look. Hey thanks for your comment. All this is true however I wouldn't want to discourage you from trying something for your self and seeing how YOU feel about it. I mean these negative experiences in the industry are pretty universal but I know models who don't and have never felt that way at all. It could be possible that you sign to a agency that are aware of those clients and are actively aware of the issue or you just happen to never meet people like that. I think it can be seen as a little nieve to say that but you just never know. You might have the best experience of you life.

I been in the modelling industry on and off many many years and just so you know I have had agencies but never signed a contract you don’t always have to sign a contract with an agency you can just let them represent you without a contract
