Hi! Awesome story. 한국사람이세요? Love hearing your story. I lived in Singapore years ago just as coffee was starting to take off there. There weren’t many places then - 40 Hands in Tiong Bahru, Loysel’s Toy, Oriole, and Highlander were kinda the only game in town. Then I lived in Korea for 7 years before recently moving back to Texas. Only had the chance to visit Melbs one time for a couple of days. Spent a lot of time in Sydney, though, and was always amazed that even the most average looking street car makes better coffee than most other places in the world.

I’m going through a similar phase myself. Feeling unhappy with my current dead end job which has been eating my soul for the past 3 years. Been applying to coffee shops to be a Barista as a career change as I have much passion for coffee. So far no interview yet, but optimistic that one day I’ll fulfill to get my new dream career.

I am here also because I have a strong interest in coffee and would like to sale street coffee one day because I think it’s fun and serving people and seeing them being satisfied is neat also that I made their drink. I have A.A.S in vision technology and a year been home with my kids. I actually found the difference between working for someone for years now and it’s not what I want to do anymore.

Your story seems similar as mine. I live in Turkey. I am a graduate of Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics, Department of Economics (In English-USA) (B.A. Economics). I was working in some companies as a sales & marketing representative, and I quitted my job 4 months ago. Nowadays, I'm trying to become a SCA certified barista and to move to another country. I want to maintain the "Barista" profession, which I also enjoyed during my student years, and I would love to get SCA Barista Skills Trainings. Thank you for your sincere and personal video share.
