I only got into Touhou recently so I haven't been here for a lot of your achievements but the streams I was able to catch really influenced me to try and do more with Touhou so thank you for that! Hope you can move in fine and looking forward to future streams of other games :)

Have you considered playing other shmups? The shmup and Touhou community are very close to each other, there's a lot of community interaction and extremely hard games with mind blowing categories.

Hey, about 1.5 years ago I was just messing around on youtube and decided to watch some Touhou for the hell of it. I've been on the very periphery of the fan base since 2012 just occasionally enjoying the music and arranges. I ended up watching your PCB Perfect run and I guess the combination of the nostalgia from the 2013 days of listening to Kuroneko Lounge's PCB House set, the amazing final bossfight that PCB has, and your incredibly impressive gameplay grabbed me. From that point onward Touhou has been something really exciting and something I've been deeply enjoying. In the 1.5 years I ended up learning Japanese because of it, met some great people online and IRL, and ended up buying way too many fumos. So, I want to thank you for that and wish you good luck with your next challenges.

@@Freeemon First of all, I am focusing entirely on reading and writing only (no listening or speaking) so keep that in mind. learned hiragana & katakana with tofugu's guide, shouldn't take more than a week at most. then started learning kanji with WaniKani, and learning about grammar with CureDolly's series on youtube. At about 1000 learned kanji i switched everything possible that I use daily to Japanese language, read random japanese tweets, read manga, play japanese games, read touhou wiki in japanese, write random things and thoughts in japanese etc.. really do something every day that uses japanese. When I run into any words that I don't understand I can either guess their reading or search by radical in a dictionary, at some point they will show up enough times that they will stick in your head. Then continue this until reading fluency. At the moment I still have to look up more advanced grammar usage, and about 10% of the words that I encounter. But I think that it's quite good progress.

If you ever feel like getting back into bullet games and want something fresh, Mushihimesama and "Cave" games were a heavy inspiration to Touhou. They are harder and very different. You can also blow up giant beautiful looking bugs so that's cool.

I know there's a lot of coincidental retirements currently in this community, but to my experience there will always be people happy to show up and fill the niches that have opened up. So many new good survival players are out there especially compared to 2016-ish. I am hopeful about new touhou players showing up to make content in the near future.

If you're interested in scoring, I'd love to see your experience learning it. I'm a low level lunatic survival player and scoring just seems so hard to get into in terms of the steps you need to take to strategize e.g. understanding the system, planning routes, managing resources, etc. I think your high survival level will allow you to learn scoring really easily and maybe that experience is worth documenting for others to learn.

Besides in my case I don't play all the games. I more am a lore waifu. I love the lore and characters and stories and the universe of gensokyo etc. So I'm more in love with it in a very personal way. So I do play the games but I'm more invested into it as a whole

Woah, can't believe that you're finally moving onto something that isn't LP runs. I think I also have some random shit to share. If anyone knows who I used to be back then (I'm talking about early-mid 2020, or Early-Quarantine ish), I am a professional LNN dicksucker. For whatever reason, years ago, I used to want to aim for LNNs so fucking much, for whatever reason (despite most of my L1ccs only dates back to last year, haha). In the summer of 2020, instead of using my free time to do fun, productive shit, I spent most of them on...trying to perfect fucking LoLK on Easy (the rest were spent on modding SoHW, but since that actually spirals out into following an entire path of being a programmer, I'd say that every single bit of that wasn't a waste). Spent like 100+ hours, slamming my keyboard in frustration, practicing easy PBH to oblivion, literally mentally torturing myself to chase something that's.... so trivial. Back then, I really need a massive amount of validation (and people in certain communities that I used to do dumb shit in would be able to easily confirm this), and somehow the way I tried to gain it was trying to perfect Touhou games on fucking easy. Not even Normal or something. Now that I'm technically 15% older than I was back then, facing some of the first few instances of what "life" actually is, I'd just say that trying to follow perfection is essentially a fucking waste of time. I've 1cc'd most mainline games on Lunatic nowadays, and I can't even ENN LoLK yet. Of course I could spend several billion years grinding until a run where no mistakes were made eventually happens, but, until that comes, the rage and despair I felt is just simply so much that getting a Perfect run doesn't even matter. Still, I really hope that your streams/gaming choices in the future would be successful. After all, I'd say that you could actually do "hard" games with ease, since you have basically what those game requires times ten. Also I really hope that your IRL issues gets resolved, I guess. Don't know jack shit about Amsterdam.
