I'd rather have a manager who sits at a desk all day than have a manager that's constantly over my back grilling me about something that he can't even do the "proper way"..but in reality, I'd rather not have a manager at all.

Hey Andre! Recent data states that 57% of workplace turnover is related to poor leadership. People quit bad bosses more often than bad jobs. It’s true. Keep following your passions!

I worked for the old Con-way Freight which is now XPO during the early 2000’s and they where tuff to work for. The days were long and stressful and I was always double checking everything I did because they would write you up for every mistake you made. My last day felt like something lifted off of me and I felt free.

Conway was way better, now write ups are a thing of the past, damages are sky high and they don’t care.

It all depends if you are a lazy and don’t want to work or want to work and have a strong back bone, fortunate for me I been through worst job than XPO so I’ve been doing great when you put your foot down with them and a hard worker you can always make it work with the dispatcher especially if you have seniority. But if mind your own business, clock in do your time and clock out and done, now here’s the thing for people who are looking for a 8 hour job and thinking trucking is a number one choice nah you in the wrong place you are expected to work long hours that’s what work is for in LTL they even tell you when you get interviewed, if you don’t like working long hours work at retail job that way you will have a guaranteed schedule.

I started with Con-Way and left under XPO. I was there a total of 12 and a half years. Under Con-Way we worked hard, drove old beat to sh** Fords and spent more time on the dock than I did in a truck. XPO hires management that works cheap and has no idea what is going on. Unfortunately, XPO is following the same model when it comes to drivers. The driver trainer at my old terminal is experienced....in rolling a set. They don't want good drivers! When they do get one, they crap all over them. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there for a job! There are other opportunities available. I have my own truck and I also work a private fleet that pays so much better than XPO...they also treat us with respect. I am slowly rebuilding my truck and working on KZbin videos. Leaving XPO was the greatest thing I have ever done. Don't waste your time there! They are more worried about social media presence than moving freight safely and treating their employees and customers with proper respect.

🎯 Management W was definitely on some weird cult shit. They micro manage the hell out of you and all the non senior drivers toward the bottom of the list complained and couldn't wait to get out

I had an interview with the manager, 15 minutes long? No road test? I doubt ill get a job offer. I have 7 years driving experience, clean MVR. I was surprised the interview was so short. I feel like all they did was waste my time and gas to fill a quota for a job opening they had.

What's your thoughts on owner operators?
@OnlyOutworkers Жыл бұрын
It’s great as long as you stay busy. A lot of people talk about how much you can make a week / month / per load / miles / etc .. but the expenses are what makes you or break you. If you don’t have contacts to keep you busy, a broker or dispatcher expenses can get out of hand and then you may loose everything. So it’s important to do your research, have a list of contacts, ask insurance questions for lower rates a lot is based on experience/state and be financially educated. If you do all that, I think you should be successful! I hope this helps! 👍
