I’ve been pipe smoking for about two years now. I like the flavors, the varieties of blends, the pipes, the relaxation that comes from taking time out to enjoy a pipe. I gravitate towards lower nicotine blends. I smoke a bowl or two a day and can go several days without a bowl without jonesing for a smoke. Why did I start? I never met a stressed out pipe smoker, and that made me wonder. I had good blood pressure before I started and it dropped even lower since I started. I think that’s from taking time to relax with a pipe. My meditation.

I've smoked a pipe for over 40 years, and I guess I feel the upside of what I call my addiction. It is best explained by the anticipation of picking up my pipe especially after 12 or 24h of abstinence, and the the almost euphoric reaction to feeling it hit me. I just love it. I don't plan to ever give it up. Keep smoking your pipe, and you will feel this too. Enjoy!

I smoked cigarettes for 20 years and quit. I started vaping but I missed the tobacco taste so I started smoking a pipe. I smoke one tobacco, Sur Walter Reilly, and I really enjoy it. I smoke my pipe several times a day but I drive a truck so I have a lot of idle time on my hands.

I am 34. First cigar was 20 years ago paired with whisky on the rocks enjoyed with a few friends over a game of poker, I was the only one who didn't get sick. Quit cigarettes when I was 17 because they were killing me. I now own a top shelf cigar collection which I only enjoy on the worthiest of occasions. I only recently was drawn to pipe tobacco as I remembered my late Uncle used to smoke it and while he was shunned for 'smoking' I loved that part about him and wished I'd had the opportunity to discuss his hobby with him. It turned out there is only ONE shop in New Zealand that sells a range of pipe tobacco and it happened to be my suppliers cigar shop which is one of only two shops that gets proper cigars in NZ. If you think that's crazy look up how much tobacco costs here, the tax is crazy it's literally like burning money so I enjoy it when I can. I now love tobacco pipe smoking, but only do it now and then - it's more about collecting tobaccos and letting them cure.

Also from a vehemently non-smoking family background. Have enjoyed an occasional cigar for a few years, and picked up pipes last year, much to my satisfaction. I too appreciate the attentiveness that it takes, and that it makes me sit still so I can focus on reading and just thinking. English blends are my favorite, and I really like Bengal Slices. Also your pup is terrific. Now I'll have to check out some of your other videos.

Born and raised on the west coast (sorry can’t help it) I remember a time back in the early 1990s when you would go around and you could find these tobacco stores. Usually an elder man ran it very peaceful inside and my goodness the aroma was just heavenly even to a young chid as myself. Those stores have long since been eradicated from the West Coast but I am happy to be living somewhere where this lifestyle is still accepted.

29 year old here, been piping for about 5 years give or take. Likewise enjoy the process as a whole and cellaring different tobaccos. As of last year started growing my own. Extremely enjoyable as well. I live in Missouri so Missouri meerschaum is a natural go to pipe. Glad to have found this channel with another down to earth pipe smoker.

I’ll admit I’m addicted, but pipes are so much purer than cigarettes. No stick, stink, or gunk. Pipes are a great hobby, too. I inherited my grandfather’s collection of estates, and I’m beginning to learn the restoration process. It’s therapeutic. More, restorations are a limited market, so I see a nice way to make relaxing cash at some point. They’re even a great way to meet people-I’ve noticed people who pick up pipes tend to be thoughtful and fun to speak with.

I'm a little over thirty, and I didn't start smoking cigars until recently. I have started it as a wintertime hobby. My first cigar was a Baccarat. I tried a few other choice sticks, surprisingly I enjoyed all of them, the baccarat included. I went from that down to cigarillos that were good, but, nothing has come close to those first few cigars.

If you like Dr. Pepper, you should give an ice cold Dr. Pepper with Cult Blood Red Moon. They enhance each other like you wouldn't believe. None of the cherry pipe tobacco has done this. But it is very interesting I think. If you want a change, give that a try.

The leather protects the meerschaum, or briar. They are pipes that are meant for going out and about. They allow your pipes to take a few knocks without damaging your pipe. This is especially true of meerschaum pipes, as they are fairly delicate and prone to breaking. The leather also makes the pipe cooler to the touch. They are also kind of stylish, in some people’s eyes.

Maybe find a couple aromatic and a couple cheap English blends and start there. You might find you like aromatic (flavored) tobacco more. I have a few reviews on the channel you should check out. You’ve made excellent points in your video! I began pipe smoking in order to relax & slowdown life a bit as one way to cope with PTSD. I have to say that it has helped. Collecting pipes has become sort of an addiction for me! I find it relaxing to pick a tobacco to suit my mood, then pick a particular pipe. Trying different pipe shapes can definitely enhance the experience. Good video 👍🏻.

Thanks for your video. I have been smoking pipes since I was 17 0r 18 and I'm now 68. I never felt addicted either and have taken breaks every now and then without any withdraws. Sounds like we do it for much the same reasons. Never had any health concerns until last year I had been having issues with sore feet in the colder months. The drs that I met with tell me that because of my pipe smoking it has caused the small capillaries in my feet to become smaller thus preventing the proper blood flow and they say that is the cause of my pain and swelling. I was thinking that perhaps I was becoming diabetic, however blood tests say not. So... just not positive what to lean towards. Seems like the drs always have a beef with any kind of tobacco use...

What was your occupation? Standing on your feet would probably cause the same issues. Studies have been coming out, showing that pipe and cigar smokers liver longer independent lives. Tobacco is historically known to help get rid of parasites. Which I've heard are a leading cause of cancer. Whiskey is also very beneficial to ones health, in moderation.

That’s idiotic. Nicotine is a vasodilator not a constrictor. If you aren’t inhaling there are little systemic effects of inhalation. My grandfather smoked 10-12 cigars a day and he lived till 90. And grew up in a era when kids were still dying of common infections. Tell those docs to shove it and puff away. You may have venous issues related to many other things. I won’t pretend to diagnose you but trust me, it ain’t the pipe.

I truly enjoy a good cigar or a pipe. The taste, the aroma. Especially a pipe makes you slow down and take in the moment. I've never enjoyed a cigarette the same way. They stink, they taste like straight chemicals. 0/10 on that.
