46 yr old here. Started about 5 years ago when i bought current home. Has 1.5 acres and riding mower and cigar just seemed like something i should do to kill time cutting lawn. . Wasnt until last year i started smoking as a "my time" relaxation hobby. I now realize how few men around me enjoy cigars. Im almost am outcast when i mention i smoke cigars. Yet when i meet a fellow smoker, age , race , religion or socio economic status... we have a bond. Thats my take away. You can bond with that fellow smoker. As dlov and wife says. Lovers of the leaf! We are united by the leaf. Great video. Subbed

I do not know if you planned this, but your video looks spectacular. You in the middle of the truck bed, the truck in the middle of the field behind you, hay bales scattered across the field, and the tree covered hills rising in the distance. It could be a painting. Oh, and by the way, I thoroughly enjoyed what you have to say about why you smoke cigars. Thanks for posting this.

I appreciate the craftsmanship of cigars and enjoy the unique flavors. I generally only smoke 2-3 on the weekends but having that time to relax, contemplate life and enjoy a one of a kind work of art is rewarding to me. May also sip a little bourbon but that's neither here nor there. 😅

I got into cigars because my grandpa used to smoke both a pipe and cigars. Im also at a point in my life where everything is moving so fast that sometimes its nice to slow everything down and just sit outside and enjoy a cigar! I also just recently bought a pipe because I want to try smoking some pipe tobacco because Ill always remember how good it smelled when my grandpa would smoke his. I also have to say that I really enjoy watching your videos and I hope that you continue to upload for years to come!

I'm 25 and recently got really into cigars! My dad doesn't smoke but he's always told me stories when he was growing up his grandfather from Italy would smoke upstairs in the office and give my dad the bands off of the cigars too play with and put on his fingers lol. He has fond memories of his grandfather and his cigars. He told me they all think he smokes about $100k worth of cigars throughout his life and that was back then! My dads always asking what new ones I've been trying and got me my first humidor last month on my birthday. He now enjoys one with me once in awhile

I literally recently seen a couple cool clips of Arnold Schwarzenegger talking about cigars and a nice trick with tequila to enhance the flavor for his guest. Then I bought a Deadwood Fat Bottom Betty, my first cigar and it was awesome, blew me away! Now I’m hooked and excited to try all the different flavors out there. My second was an Ashton in our local cigar lounge and experienced a nice cream flavor. The other thing is I’ve worked really hard all my life, now I’m a project manager turning 50 this spring and just feel like I earned it. Yes, I feel like you earn a cigar if that makes sense.

I used to smoke once a year in vegas at nice lounges as my friend was into them. Did that since 2010 but never had much interest, as was only smoking montecristo. Then last year i had my first Ashton, and now i have a humidor with 200 cigars ranging from Aj fernandez, oliva, ashton, fuente, padron, rp. I usually smoke 2-3 back to back as a form of meditation, but with friends will just smoke one churchill. Im 37, and im a poker player. I play in the wsop evwey year and theres a lot of poker players (generally older) that smoke cigars

Glad to that your back. I was hoping for a video soon. My first cigar was a rose of Sharon. The long ones. And I started smoking cigars because I saw Dwayne from dry creek wrangle school smoking one and he looked like he was enjoying himself. So I tried it. And I since moved to smoking a pipe. I like smoking because it helps me relax after a long day and helps me out things back into perspective.

Thats similar to how I got into it, although I didn't get a humidor and buy and bulk until much more recently. But absolutely its all about slowing down, reflecting and enjoying life. I also sorta use cigars as a reward for keeping up the healthier aspects of my life, eating well, excising, staying away from sugar and processed stuff.

I got into cigars for the exact same reasons my man. I’m 35, will be 36 in December and I don’t know of anyone my age around me or friends that smoke a tobacco pipe or cigars. I’m fairly new to it and am learning what I like, and I’m loving the journey

I got into smoking cigars with my Papaw and uncles when I was a teenager. We'd always smoke one after a big family meal. Years went by and I got away from cigars for several years. Then just a on a lark, I bought 2 and offered my brother in law one after a meal one evening. It has become tradition now. But the last couple years I have started trying a lot of different types and brands and have found some I don't care for and some I love. Just sitting on the porch after work and enjoying a good cigar is a very relaxing way to wind down from the day.

Hi Charlie! I stumbled on your video today and enjoyed watching it! I have smoked a pipe on and off for 50 years, but two years ago I got back into it with greater enthusiasm, commitment - and enjoyment! My son enjoys cigars and with his encouragement I am now enjoying them too! He and I meet up once a month to smoke a cigar and drink whisky, and it’s an evening I very much look forward to. I never experienced evenings like this with my own father, and my parents seriously disapproved of smoking. But I love the taste and the smell and the whole ritual, and find it marvellously relaxing. I look forward to more of your videos!

I started smoking cigars at age 14. I was in 9th grade and the swimming season ended. I walked into Sears and bought a cigar and a lighter and smoked on my way walking home. It was a celebration the season ended, and a mourning of my dad passing.

I avoided Cigars for many years, as a former cigarette smoker and someone who has had family members die of lung cancer, I've seen how addictive cigarettes are.... what I didn't realize is that cigarettes are basically engineered to keep users addicted. All kinds of chemicals are added to make them addictive and also deadlier. Cigars are a different beast... I find that they don't have nearly the physiological proneness to becoming super habit forming. I dont feel like ants crawling on my skin or any of the other effects of nicotine withdrawal that I used to get with cigarettes. Now maybe it's because they aren't inhaled like cigarettes are, I'm not sure. I do still get a nicotine buzz when smoking, but I don't feel a "need" to smoke a cigar every day. Now, as far as how I got into cigars or why I find them attractive, it's largely culture and history. Naturally, cigar smoking is common in Latin former Spanish empire colonies. I love learning all the spanish terminology for cigars, everything from the different vitolas, to the different parts of the tobacco plant like ligero, medio tiempo, volado and seco. I'm also from Florida, which has a long history with both Cigars and Spanish speaking peoples. Florida was discovered by the Spanish and was part of the Spanish empire for years. Anyway, naturally cigar culture tends to have roots in Spanish/American history, which is fascinating. Also, like you said, no cigar experience is exactly the same. There are brands that lend themselves to a similar experience and usually trend towards excellence (thinking Padron cigars myself). Every blend is a little different and offers a different experience.

That’s a great choice of a cigar and you let it set a little longer to very nice. Foundation cigars are some of my favorites. If you haven’t had any other ones besides the Charter Oak I recommend you to try the rest of them. Hope you and everyone has a merry Christmas and blessed day in the comments as well. 🙏🤘

Why not cut the leaf fold over off? Light and puff.
@becomingaman23 Жыл бұрын
I am usually careful not to cut off the foot of a cigar. It is not made to be cut and will unravel itself and ruin the cigar. I have been temped to do it with this particular cigar though.

@becomingaman239 ай бұрын
I’ve noticed a large amount of interest in cigars and pipe tobacco in the recent years as opposed to 10-20 years ago. I’m not necessarily saying they were not popular. I am saying that they were not as much a “fad” back then.
