The previous owner most likely never reached for it hence the structured look of the way overall. Suede in general is much softer and pliable and prone to wear more quicker than leather.

It's not the heaviest bag I own but it can get heavy b/c it's a top handle. It's really a beautiful bag (the leather is so nice) and you can get them for good prices now so I'd go for it!
