This is kind of thing that makes me say to myself, "now why didn't I think of that"!!! Makes so much sense. Thanks Dale.

Just a question please Dale, we had our 8th ride today and I've been riding him in a bosal from the first ride so at what point would you suggest putting the snaffle in as well please?
@dalefredricks6546 Жыл бұрын
@@robynross2141 You can start anytime now Robyn. I would like to suggest you watch our video 'Part 8- Starting the 2 Year Old; Snaffle Bit and Hackamore'. You might find some things in it that you would like to try.

Dale you remember when we took lunch break. After riding colts at par three. We did not have any money to go to Gainesville to eat in town. You showed me how to make cowboy toast. A slice of bread with a hole in it and put a egg in it

I've never seen anyone do a two rein with a snaffle and hackamore. Interesting!

It works for me Mark, hope you'll give it a try!

Dale I rode colts at par three in Gainesville Texas with you. In the late 80’s. You gave me a bullrope that you made that I won with and showed you pictures of the rides. I’m Jim Brown do you remember me my friend

I hope you can forgive me Jim, I've racked my brain and I just don't remember you. Getting senile I guess. How long did we work together and how are you doing now?

I was a junior in high school in1988. And lived in thackerville oklahoma. And would drive to par three after school and ride colts for you and Ernie for a few hours. And work all day with you on Saturday’s.

No sir. I’m not on Facebook. This is my Son Spur Brown’s you tube account. I just have a regular phone. I just wanted to say hello my friend. I in joyed and appreciate what you and the Mexican man Mr. Moses taught me. Moses gave me a German Shepherd dog once. He never said a lot but I listened when he did. Take care my ol’buddy . Glad to see your still working with horses. God bless

High there, been looking for a hackamore/bosal with a thick nose band like this for my gelding. Do you know where you got this one from? Thanks, Dale!
@dalefredricks65464 жыл бұрын
This one was made by the late Jack Shepherd. There are quite a few good custom makers out there. You can expect to pay $400-$500 for a custom made one. If you're looking for something more economical- try Steve Guitron braiding in California. Just Google his name and it should take you there. (The one in the video is 5/8" and is about 10 1/2" long inside diameter)

@@dalefredricks6546 thank you so much. Very good to know. Maybe I should look into spending more than I planned. He's a big boy and is just starting under saddle at 15, after being gelded late this july (I rescued him.). He is soft and kind despite that so I am trying to do right by him (thank you for all of your videos!) I want to start him in a bosal and snaffle like you do but I can't find a snaffle with the amount of barrels I want. I saw you had one with 3 or 4 barrels. Do you remember where that D ring is from? I'm trying to be as soft as possible with whatever snaffle I use. Thank you in advance. Your training videos are my #1 go to online. My Appy, Cowboy, thanks you too.

What size in thickness of bosal do you like to use when you use the hackamore and snaffle?
