gear seriously DOES NOT MATTER. give a Pro any camera set up, even a kids toy camera and they will still make stellar images, because they know how to translate what they see in their head into the image they capture with the camera. People will complain that the pros say gear does not matter while using expensive gear, well duh. They have put in the time and established themselves and use expensive gear because they can afford to. They do not NEED to use the expensive gear though. once you all advance your photography, you will also get to the point where you finally realize that GEAR TRULY DOES NOT MATTER. the only people that think it does are the amatuers and casual shooters.......
@dathofilms3 жыл бұрын
@@orion7741 well, I consider myself Pro, been on many high production sets and each job requires specific technology to tell a story. If you would like to capture a water splash in slow motion, you need specific gear for this, if you want to have a gopro looking footage, you need a specific gear for this, if you want to have home made video, you need specific gear for it, each job requires different gear. Now this doesnt mean you can not make beautiful images with cheaper cameras, but oh Boy Gear does matter and whoever tells it doesnt, are really not understanding the question correctly.

All of the new tech that’s come out isn’t really all that better than what we already had. Tech in the past 20 years for digital photography has marginally progressed, not enough for me to replace anything. If I do upgrade, it’ll be to get a full frame and that’s it. you're totally right, when you buy expensive gear that shoots 4k or 8k or whatever, you're not just buying the camera and that's that, you need to also get a high-end computer to edit that 4k footage, you need tons of sd cards and multiple hard drives! I watched your videos when I got into filmmaking and I wanted to get a gh3 so bad too but I couldn't find one in a good condition, later on, I stopped looking and I ended up buying a Sony A7 with a cute rig and some lenses for a good price, even though its a camera from 2014 I am just so proud of it, the footage from my Sony a7 is just amazing, I have an ad I did for a little gig I have going on if you wanna check out it's on this channel, it was shot using my a7 and a vintage lens, overall the video quality doesn't matter much, great movies were shot on 1080p , its not about the gear but the knowledge you have when it comes to this craft, anyway great video buddy! you inspired me a lot, also I learned lighting from you, but i can't find some cheap gear yet hahahha

I shoot stills with both medium format film and MFT (talk about a radical difference?). For film, I go out with a Mamiya 645 Pro TL and C220. Up until recently for digital I used an Olympus E-M5 II and shot primarily high-res tripod shots of my abandoned interior/exterior style explorations I shot in film. I bit the bullet and bought a mint/barely used E-M1 III almost just for the handheld high-res mode. Obviously it's better in every way (unless size is a factor?), but being able to use high-res handheld is really nice even if its lower resolution compared to the tripod mode. I've also been able to use it for macro and portraits to a certain degree with high success. To me MFT gives a near film quality that I like, plus I'm already lugging around medium format film cameras, so the smaller kit is nice.

You can film up to 60p for slow motion with just a very little loss in sharpness. Most lenses will fit on this camera from c-mount vintage 16mm film cameras or close circuit cameras to all vintage photography lenses and speedboosters. You can film up to 1600 ISO as long as you expose "to the right" and get very clean image. It's a pro camera, so its very well built and reliable. The MOV all I codec is fantastic and way better than mp4. You can still edit on old and cheap computers.

I’m still using my 5D mark II. These days I most shoot and edit in 1080p due to speed. I upscale to 2160p on export. Plenty quality with great lenses.

The GH2 once hacked totally rivals the GH3 and is imho the best value for money for video that you can get for this price range.

I just bought my first camera, partially thanks to you, a gh4 :-) Did you know that in case you loose the cd comes with the camera, you can never ever get the software? I just spoke with panasonic to give me the photofunstudio, because I do not have the original cd, and they said "no, we do not have that opportunity anymore, 6 month ago it was shut down". Without that no file copy to windows from camera over wifi.
